Warriors are further enticed by the possibility of becoming a Divine Paladin, a class previously held by Reinhardt, if they distinguish themselves beyond expectation. Reinhardt then witnesses a rapid montage of twenty years of war and upheaval in Valdonia. The vision sharpens to a battlefield where his past self, a seasoned warrior, fights alongside another combatant against a colossal dragon. While his past self focuses on protecting retreating allies, the other warrior fights recklessly. Despite his past self's superior defense and damage absorption, the dragon targets him for its final, devastating attack. Seeing the dragon's breath weapon aimed at the retreating soldiers, his past self sacrifices himself to intercept the blast.
