The Adventures of an Overpowered Knight in Another World Chapter 636- A Shadow Lurking Near Eleanor (3)
Previously on The Adventures of an Overpowered Knight in Another World...
Rewinding time a little. About a week ago...
(He) arrived at Snowpoint City just before dusk.
The city lights were beginning to glow. People moved about freely, laughing, talking, living their normal lives.
(He) stood still near the city gate, watching everything around him. There was a crooked smile on his face.
he whispered in his mind.
A couple of days ago, a certain someone had found him in the slums and told him about .
Although it was hard for him to believe, any news about her was something he couldn’t ignore.
And so, leaving behind his trashy life in the slums of the southern city, he followed the information... and now he was here, in Snowpoint City.
"Ah..."
A low, distorted sound escaped his throat. Just thinking about her... her face, her expressions, the way she moved, made his body twitch unnaturally.
(He) curled and uncurled his fists, unable to restrain his excitement. His face twisted with obsession, a vile grin stretching across it.
People who walked past him on the road deliberately walked around him. Some frowned, some looked away, and others whispered under their breath.
"Creep..."
He heard them, but he didn’t care. They didn’t matter. None of them mattered. Only one person did.
He was obsessed with her, and only her.
"You’re here... aren’t you..." (He) whispered, barely audible. "I’ll find you."
Over the next few days, he disappeared, blending into the shadows of the city.
Her name, her schedule, her location... (He) gathered information about her piece by piece. And finally, he received credible information: she was indeed here.
Eleanor.
The moment he confirmed it, something inside him snapped.
The restraint he had kept for so long shattered, and the next thing he knew, the day of her new movie’s debut, her first film after returning to the industry, had arrived.
Through means better left unspoken, he obtained a ticket and sat among the audience. The moment the movie began, and he saw her on screen, his breathing hitched.
His eyes never left the image before him. There she was, Eleanor, radiant and as beautiful as ever. Even though he was just gazing at her through the screen, it felt like he was there with her.
"Ahh..."
His lips trembled, emotions spilling out. He gripped the armrest of his seat so tightly his knuckles turned white.
Every movement she made, every line she spoke, every subtle shift in her expression burned itself into his mind.
The fantasies he had buried for so long surged violently in his heart again. Those twisted, rotten thoughts he had nurtured in the dark.
By the time the movie ended, the man had made up his mind.
That beautiful flower... he must possess her and keep her near him once again.
Eleanor...
While his mind drowned in her name, destiny brought them together once more.
From the corner of his eyes, he saw her.
Not the distant figure on the screen, but the real person.
Eleanor stepped out of the VIP room, wearing a beautiful evening gown.
She looked elegant, radiant, almost untouchable.
"Eleanor!!"
He tried to call out, but his voice was drowned out by the crowd.
She waved at the people chanting her name, then disappeared into a carriage and left.
Why did she ignore me? Did she forget about me? Her greatest fan?
A tinge of frustration welled in his chest.
The man had a few screws loose. So, right after anger, excitement surged again. Even though she was gone, for a moment, just a moment... Eleanor had been in the same building as him.
He slowly walked toward the spot where she had stood earlier. Then, in a disturbing way, he leaned down and inhaled deeply, like a starving beast, drinking in her lingering scent.
"You’re here..."
His voice cracked, a twisted smile spreading across his face. In that moment, he felt like he was back in that house where only the two of them had existed all those years ago.
"Don’t worry, I’ll bring you back into that house again. This time, there won’t be anyone to disturb us."
Dark, suffocating thoughts tumbled from his lips. Seeing her again, (he) had made up his mind to get her.
No matter what it took.
No matter who stood in his way.
Thinking about it, he remembered the golden haired man walking alongside Eleanor.
The one who spoke to her so casually, made her smile so naturally. Just recalling the scene he had witnessed earlier almost made his heart burst with anger.
That man wasn’t just anyone. His name echoed throughout the entire city.
People called him the Divine Paladin, the protector of the city and mankind.
Reinhardt Arcknight.
Viscount, son of a Duke, Commander of one of the Seven Greatest Knight Orders of Solairs.
A man so powerful that no sane person would ever dare oppose him.
But (he) was no longer sane. Not anymore. Reason had rotted away long ago. Fear did not exist within him. Consequences were something he didn’t care about.
There was only one thought left in his mind.
One obsession.
One name.
"Eleanor..."
.
.
Coming back to the present day...
The morning training had finally ended. After hours of sparring and drilling with his knights, Reinhardt felt quite light.
He was in a good mood.
Why wouldn’t he be? He had been able to stretch his muscles, test his limits, and even enjoy the exhaustion of those around him.
The same could not be said for Zerina and the other high ranking knights, though. One could imagine their appearance, lying on the ground, filthy and hollow‑eyed, silently contemplating the sheer gulf between them and Reinhardt.
It was abysmal, almost humiliating.
Reinhardt calmly walked back toward his manor, enjoying the peace and quiet of Snowpoint City. He made this walk every day, so the scenery had become normal to him.
However, today he witnessed something abnormal in his otherwise normal daily life.
Reinhardt came to a stop and stared at the anomaly.
"What am I looking at?"
