Earl reports to Lynn about the massive grain harvest at Morgan Town and the desire of local Free People to become citizens. Lynn establishes new terms for becoming a townsman, requiring enlistment in the garrison and offering land, pay, and farming rewards. Earl also informs Lynn of unknown cavalry units scouting the town's outskirts, leading them to speculate about the intentions of neighboring lords.

"If a lord manages to obliterate all the manor lords in a small town."

"Then, wouldn't that lord's military might far surpass that of other manor lords!"

"If the manor lords of those two towns you mentioned already possessed formidable power."

"They would have certainly seized Morgan Town before I did."

Earl nodded in affirmation.

Lynn proceeded, "Then let's adjust our perspective and consider this."

"What does Morgan Town possess that compels them to go to such lengths?"

Earl couldn't help but furrow his brow, attempting to articulate his thoughts.

"The crops cultivated in Morgan Town?"

"No, that doesn't seem right!"

"While Morgan Town does boast a substantial expanse of farmland, a single type of crop alone isn't valuable enough for a manor lord to risk offending another."

As his words concluded, Earl fell silent, sinking into profound contemplation.

A few moments later.

Earl's eyes suddenly brightened, and he quickly addressed Lynn.

"Master Lynn! Their true objective isn't Morgan Town itself!"

"It's the mineral resources within your domain!"

Lynn remained silent, awaiting Earl's further explanation.

"Because traveling merchants have consistently frequented your territory, seeking to trade for your fine salt."

"Moreover, the taxes you remit to the Church Bishop have led to the public dissemination of your achievements in Kakasong City."

"It wouldn't be difficult for them to deduce that your territory possesses fine salt!"

Having spoken, Earl looked towards Master Lynn, his gaze filled with expectation.

Anticipating Master Lynn's evaluation of his deduction.

Lynn wholeheartedly commended him, "An excellent analysis."

Upon hearing Master Lynn's praise, a bashful expression bloomed on Earl's face.

If it were anyone else offering flattery, he might have let it pass.

But to receive praise from Master Lynn himself was another matter entirely.

Earl promptly bowed, signifying his deep respect.

Lynn's tone shifted as he continued to address Earl, "However, there exists another potential explanation."

Earl echoed in confusion, "Another explanation?"

Lynn nodded, "It's highly probable they are being manipulated by someone else!"

"A manor lord in a small town, ensuring the steady development of their own land, is already quite commendable."

"How could they possibly harbor ambitions of annexing the territories of others?"

"The most crucial point is that it's late July, the peak of the summer harvest and planting season!"

Earl once again nodded in agreement.

Indeed.

Master Lynn's reasoning possessed a far greater depth than his own.

After clarifying for Earl, Lynn stated, "I have already been informed about the matter concerning the unfamiliar cavalry."

"Simply enhance patrols moving forward, and promptly report any unusual occurrences to Wesley."

"Should Wesley find himself unable to make a decisive judgment, order a retreat back to the territory and inform me."

Earl nodded swiftly and replied, "Understood, Master."

"Earl shall now take his leave."

Noticing Master Lynn offered no further words, Earl respectfully bowed once more before departing.

He naturally understood that Master Lynn had deliberately guided him earlier.

Through a process of questioning and answering, teaching him to approach issues from various angles and perspectives.

Watching Earl depart on horseback, Lynn finally withdrew his gaze.

His mind remained occupied with the earlier inquiries.

If these were merely other town manor lords harboring avarice for his salt mine.

With his nearly four thousand fully equipped soldiers, he had no cause for concern.

He could even position himself readily in Morgan Town.

Awaiting the arrival of other manor lords and their troops.

He would personally lead the heavy cavalry and decimate them with overwhelming force.

Subsequently, he would confiscate all the labor and food supplies from their manors and transport them back to his territory.

But if Viscount Jon Zuck of Kakasong City was orchestrating these manor lords to test his defenses.

The manner in which he would handle this situation would necessitate a different approach.

He would need to proceed with the utmost caution.

As long as he could await the completion of the harvest and the transport of crops from Morgan Town's farmlands back to his territory by Gavin and the farmers.

Even if Jon Zuck were to launch a full-scale assault on Morgan Town.

He could easily instruct Wesley to lead Gavin and the farmers in a strategic withdrawal from Morgan Town.

Possessing land devoid of manpower, even if granted to Jon Zuck, would offer him no tangible benefit, nor would it inflict any loss upon Lynn.

He would simply bide his time until the Blacksmith Workshop and Textile Workshop finished producing the remaining Composite Armor.

And until he had successfully trained and equipped the newly recruited soldiers.

He could then dispatch his troops to reclaim Morgan Town, which would by then be undefended.

With his heavy and light cavalry units, on a flat terrain such as Morgan Town, confronting a direct charge from light cavalry or infantry.

The outcome could be described as nothing short of complete annihilation.

Putting aside these thoughts, Lynn turned his gaze outwards, beyond the confines of the town.

There.

A resplendent golden sunset bathed the entire world in a warm, golden hue.

The structures of red brick that comprised the town's workshops and dining hall were a testament to diligent effort. Likewise, the contented expressions on the townsfolk toiling in the freshly harvested fields spoke volumes. Lynn withdrew his gaze and stood up from the humble wooden bench. Accompanied by Red, Lynn made his way back to the castle. Traversing the familiar path lined with red brick dwellings, Lynn re-entered the castle grounds. After being served by Kuisi and the attending maids, his dinner commenced. Following the meal, he indulged in a half-hour of relaxation within the private room's bathtub before retiring to the master bedroom. No sooner had he closed the grand double wooden doors and turned about. Upon the expansive bed, a beautifully formed figure, reclining there, caught his eye.
