Shang effortlessly killed Lucius, the God who had controlled Aterium, and ventured into the surrounding infinite void of Entropy to confirm the barrier of unimaginable Destruction beyond. Returning, he warned Abaddon, Kali, and Gregorio of the escape challenges but vowed to find a solution within a day. Contemplating his remaining empathy, Shang tore it from his essence using Mana from a slain Abomination God, forging a fully human body named Alex seething with hatred toward him.

Alex clenched his teeth in fury.

"Thankful?!" he bellowed. "You slaughtered everyone who aided us!"

"You killed Jerald!"

"You killed all the Mage Kings that helped us!"

"You killed Agon!"

"You ended all life on Aterium!"

"You're a monster!"

"HAHAHAHA!" Shang just laughed.

"And I feel nothing!" Shang shouted between laughs.

"I feel zero guilt!"

"I would do it again!"

"And again!"

"My eyes are finally open!"

"I can finally see my past self for what it truly was!"

"Weak!"

"I was weak!"

"Empathy is weakness!"

"Feelings for others is weakness!"

"In this world, you can only rely on yourself!"

"HAHAHAHAHA!"

Multiple fierce rends tore through Shang's body, but he kept on laughing maniacally.

"You're so pathetic, Alex," Shang roared amid his laughter.

BANG!

One of Shang's tendrils badly wounded Alex in a brutal strike.

Enormous chunks of Alex's body got ripped away, while Shang suspended him high with his own torso.

"And you are the reason," Shang declared with a sneer.

"You're my weakness."

"And for making me weak for so long, I am going to punish you with the worst thing I can imagine."

"An eternity of not being able to become stronger."

Alex clenched his teeth in fury.

"You're the God of this world now, Alex," Shang said with a sneer.

"Can you feel it?"

"The world?"

"Aterium?"

"That's you now."

"If Aterium dies, you die."

"But I also made a little change since I'm not as nice as Lucius."

"Yes, if Aterium dies, you die, but if you die, Aterium also dies."

"The silver walls are now intrinsically connected to your mind."

"If you go unconscious or die, the silver walls will stop functioning, and the things outside the silver walls will enter."

"Alex, you're such a nice guy. Lucius said so, didn't he?"

"You wouldn't commit suicide if that meant destroying quadrillions of lives, right?"

"HAHAHAHAHAHA!"

Shang laughed uproariously.

Blood poured from Alex's mouth as he ground his teeth to powder.

Alex loathed Shang beyond measure.

Regrettably, this hatred was nothing new.

Shang had always dominated Alex.

Alex had constantly attempted to push Shang toward making friends by overwhelming him with remorse and shame, but each time, Shang erupted and battled those emotions by slaughtering even more.

And when Shang killed Jerald, Alex had been completely sealed away.

Nevertheless, Alex had witnessed every atrocity Shang committed.

To him, it felt as though someone had seized control of his body and compelled him to perpetrate horrors.

"Anyway," Shang said before hurling Alex across the hall.

"I think the wild and infinite outside is calling to me."

"I hope you won't mind that I'm leaving you here to keep things in check, right?" Shang said with a mocking chuckle.

"Hey, at least I'm taking the Abominations with me.That's something at least, right?"

Shang turned around and laughed loudly.

"Anyway, gotta go! Just stay where you are, okay?"

The next moment, a black portal appeared, and Shang floated through it.

And then, the portal closed.

Silence.

Crk.

Alex's nails gouged into the castle floor amid hatred, frustration, and rage.

Shang was gone.

The next moment, Alex sensed a shift beyond the silver wall.

The Entropy was gone.

But now, the unimaginable forces of Destruction pressed right against Aterium.

Fortunately, the silver walls held the forces of Destruction back.

Alex realized this must have been Aterium's original state.

After all, the Abominations had only emerged around a million years ago.

At least, that was when the Archivist had first detected them.

Over a long period of time, a cloud of Entropy had formed around Aterium, and when that cloud had reached a certain density, the Abominations had appeared.

Since the cloud of Entropy was now gone, there also wouldn't be any more Abominations.

Additionally, since the Entropy gathered around Aterium only very slowly, it wasn't difficult for Alex to disperse it again.

This meant that not a single Abomination would appear in the world again.

'At least I kept that promise,' Alex thought with regret.

'I'm sorry, everyone.'

'I'm sorry that I disappointed you.'

'Life on Aterium still underwent a reset, but at least the Abominations are now gone.'

Yet, that didn't help Alex's feelings at all.

Alex also wanted to see the outside and become more powerful.

But now, he was stuck in Aterium.

Forever.

The next moment, Alex felt a Spirit Sense wash over him, and he clenched his teeth in fury.

Abaddon!

'You are part of the reason why all life was eradicated!'

CRRRRRRK!

The next moment, an impossibly hard and durable piece of metal shot out of the ground somewhere in Aterium.

Just moments later, the metal fragment compressed tightly, transforming its form.

SHING!

Suddenly, the metal fragment disappeared and materialized right before Alex.

A radiant white sword now gleamed there!

Anger and hatred blazed open in Alex's eyes.

SHING!

Alex vanished from sight.

SHING!

He reemerged directly before Abaddon, Kali, and Gregorio.

Surprise filled the gazes of all three as they stared at the figure standing there.

He resembled Shang somewhat, yet his Aura felt utterly alien.

Unending hatred burned in Alex's gaze toward Abaddon.

Alex had become the world's God, claiming all of Aterium's Mana as his own.

Abaddon remained merely a Peak Mage Emperor, signifying over ten such powerhouses' worth of Mana within Aterium.

Combined with Alex's personal reserves, this granted him far more Mana than any ordinary God possessed.

Moreover, knowing all of Shang's knowledge, Alex wielded every one of Shang's techniques and battle experiences.

Here stood a being with sevenfold Spirit Sense at the God Realm level.

Alex embodied a true Sword God.

Terror widened Abaddon's eyes.

Alex raised his sword high.

CRACK!

Reality itself ripped open.

Abaddon shredded into chunks of blood, which millions of minuscule slashes then pulverized into dust.

Abaddon perished.

Kali scarcely had time to respond before suffering the identical gruesome fate.

Their Mana dispersed instantly throughout the world.

However, no trace of joy appeared on Alex's face.

Terror and dread gripped Gregorio as he beheld the figure before him.

"Shang?" he questioned uncertainly. "Is that you?"

Alex drew in a deep breath.

His eyes narrowed as he fixed his gaze on Gregorio.

"You were complicit," Alex declared.

"Without you, Shang would have never been able to destroy the world!"

"For your own selfish goals, you were willing to sacrifice everyone and everything!"

"You're not better than Shang!"

Horror overwhelmed Gregorio's entire being.

Yet, Gregorio found no chance for further regret or terror.

Alex slew him instantly.

Silence.

Abaddon, Kali, and Gregorio lay dead.

And Alex?

He buried his face in his hands.

Happiness eluded him.

He remained trapped here.

Forever.

Soon after, Alex glared at the sword clutched in his hand, teeth grinding.

He brought the blade toward his neck.

Yet, his Spirit Sense instinctively swept across the world.

Life had already begun to flourish anew by then.

Beauty surrounded everything.

The world shone with beauty.

Like a newborn infant, it overflowed with boundless, unexplored potential.

Tears streamed from Alex's eyes as he glanced back at the sword.

In the end, Alex hurled the sword aside carelessly.

He simply couldn't bring himself to do it.

Self-destruction proved impossible for him.

Trapped he was.

In Aterium.

Forever.

Immediately after, Alex turned his gaze southward.

Alex and the Archivist locked eyes.

Alex harbored no desire to slay the Archivist.

The Archivist, after all, had exerted every effort to eliminate Shang.

"I guess we'll get to know each other very well in the coming eternity," Alex remarked with a sigh of helplessness.

The Archivist regarded Alex with brows deeply furrowed.
