A girl wakes up with amnesia in a luxurious suite, unsure of who she is or how she got there. A mysterious young man claims to be her husband and that they are to consummate their marriage. Though suspicious of his predatory gaze, the girl, realizing she has transmigrated into a new body, decides to embrace the situation, seeing it as an opportunity.

A flicker of anticipation ran through her at the prospect of her first kiss.

Suddenly, the door was flung open with considerable force.

“Who would be so unromantic as to interrupt such a moment?” Lamenting the lost opportunity, Lin Wanwan paused her actions and tidied her attire.

Over a dozen reporters, cameras slung around their necks, stormed in, immediately commencing a flurry of flashes directed at the duo on the bed.

The expressions of excitement on their faces shifted dramatically upon recognizing Tang Chen.

One reporter, evidently familiar with him, exclaimed, “Wasn’t it supposed to be the married actress Bai Yao here for a clandestine meeting? Why is it the young Master Tang instead?”

“Huh? The lady beside him does look somewhat familiar. She resembles the second daughter of the Lin family, doesn’t she? Though I haven’t heard of any connection between her and young Master Tang...”

“What exactly is happening here?”

The hushed murmurs shattered the ambiance within the suite. Concurrently, Lin Wanwan’s eyes gleamed.

Was she a wealthy young lady? It appeared the original inhabitant of this body hailed from an affluent background.

However, this man... he didn't seem to have any official ties to the original owner.

Lin Wanwan subtly assessed Tang Chen, catching the mocking smirk playing on his lips.

That expression sent a jolt through her, causing her heart to race, and she reflexively swatted his hand away from her waist. Her body went limp, and she tumbled to the floor.

“Who are you, and why have you abducted me here?”

As she spoke, tears began to stream down Lin Wanwan’s face. Her complexion turned ashen, presenting a picture of a large, pale, and pitiable bunny.

Recalling the moment she had shoved him onto the bed, Tang Chen was unsure whether to be amused. A new layer of suspicion began to form in his mind.

The ability to burst into tears so effortlessly was a feat even seasoned A-list actors would struggle to achieve.

The reporters found themselves swayed by Lin Wanwan’s tearful account. A junior reporter, new to the profession, couldn't help but question, “But Tang Chen is the President of Sheng Rui Corporation! How could he possibly have kidnapped a girl? Do you all truly believe her?”

“Why shouldn’t we?”

Another voice retorted, explaining in a hushed tone, “You haven’t been in the industry long, so you might not be aware. The second daughter of the Lin family… her mind is rather peculiar.”

He paused, gathering his thoughts, before offering an illustration.

“About six months ago, during the press conference for actor Luo Han’s film, Lin Wanwan stormed the stage and attempted to kiss him, though she ultimately failed. She adamantly declared that only Luo Han was worthy of her marriage. Subsequently, the Lin family stepped forward to confirm that the second daughter of the Lin family had suffered a severe fever at the age of six, which caused brain damage.”

“Ah...”

A wave of pity washed over the onlookers as they regarded Lin Wanwan. The occasional glances cast toward Tang Chen, however, were laced with the condemnation typically reserved for scoundrels.

Tang Chen’s gaze fell upon the girl who was now cowering and feigning tremors in the corner. He dismounted the bed, his sharp eyes sweeping across the assembled press.

“Have you all finished speaking?”

Despite the gentle smile gracing his lips, the reporters broke out in a cold sweat.

“Consider this a friendly warning: you would do well to watch your words. Regardless of any perceived flaws in Lin Wanwan’s character, she remains my girlfriend.”

His declaration silenced the room instantly.

Even Lin Wanwan, who was diligently attempting to piece together memories from the body she now inhabited, narrowed her eyes.

This man was adept at damage control. To avoid a scandal, he was willing to have a perceived simpleton branded as his girlfriend?

It was a shame she had no intention of being a pawn for anyone.

The moment the reporters mentioned Tang Chen’s name, she instantly recognized him. It was virtually impossible not to know such a prominent figure in the country.

If she didn’t establish clear boundaries with him soon, she might find herself in an even more precarious position.

Hadn’t her brain been damaged? It would be perfectly rational for her to act erratically, wouldn’t it?
