Luo Qingtong finds Yu Sihuang’s distress amusing when he compares himself to Ye Qianming. Meanwhile, Ye Qianming regrets not being able to be with Luo Qingtong, and learns the location of the Sky Demon Fox, which the Star Alliance also seeks. He decides to handle it himself to avoid complications. Luo Qingtong and her group arrive at Barbaric City, the first city of the Extreme West Wilderness.

"Rumble—!"

The moment Luo Qingtong and her companions were drawing near this Barbaric City…

A deafening roar suddenly erupted from behind them.

Luo Qingtong and the others swiftly turned their gaze, just in time to witness a squadron of riders hurtling towards them from a short distance back.

"Move! Make way, everyone!"

Each member of this squadron was astride an Iron-horned Rhinoceros, a rare breed of mount native to the Extreme West Wilderness. Though known for their docile nature, their ferocious appearance projected an extremely intimidating aura.

Furthermore, their fur was as white as snow, a trait highly favored by the Pioneers inhabiting this region of the Extreme West Wilderness.

Yet, acquiring these Iron-horned Rhinoceroses was notoriously difficult and prohibitively expensive, placing them far beyond the reach of average Pioneers in the Extreme West Wilderness.

In some smaller settlements beyond Barbaric City, these magnificent mounts were virtually nonexistent.

But here, in the procession Luo Qingtong observed, every individual was mounted on one of these prestigious beasts!

What was even more striking was that these riders were all boys and girls, appearing no older than fifteen or sixteen years old.

It was quite evident from a single glance that they were the offspring of the prominent aristocratic clans within Barbaric City.

As Luo Qingtong watched the procession thunderously advance in their direction, showing blatant disregard for others and loudly demanding that people clear the path, her eyebrows immediately knitted together.

Nevertheless, she deemed it beneath her to engage with such individuals and simply steered Su Yu and the others to the side.

Yu Sihuang, who was wearing a veiled hat, perked up considerably from his initially displeased mood the moment Luo Qingtong tugged his sleeve. He too saw no reason to pay heed to these Young Masters from Barbaric City’s noble families, who clearly had no understanding of the world’s true scale.

The group positioned themselves outside the city gates, awaiting the passing of the rider squadron.

Just then, a conversation reached their ears from the opposite direction.

"My word, these people make a spectacle like this every single day recently. They truly show no regard for human life!"

"Precisely! That Hu Family brat is also in a pitiful state! Even if he is the result of the Hu Family’s Second Young Miss losing her purity before marriage, he is still undeniably of the Hu Family bloodline!"

"And everyone knows that the incident back then wasn't the fault of that Second Young Miss! The Hu Family's actions towards him are utterly excessive!"

"Aren't they! It's astonishing how he even managed to traverse the perilous Extreme West Wilderness to arrive at this Barbaric City! Alas! He's already pitiable enough—and the Hu Family continues to mistreat him! Are they simply preying on his perceived foolishness?"

"Indeed! It's also because the Hu Family Patriarch is gravely ill and teetering on the brink of death, rendering him unable to manage affairs. Furthermore, the Hu Family's Eldest Young Master has been bedridden and comatose since that incident, completely unresponsive. Otherwise, how could the Hu Family have fallen into such a state?"

"You speak the truth! Alas, that branch descended from the Second Elder harbored aspirations of seizing power—how could they possibly tolerate a male descendant from the direct lineage standing in their way? Even if he is deemed a fool, it would not suffice! Are they not currently devising every conceivable method to torment that Hu Family kid?"

"They even parade him out as a plaything for the other aristocratic families!"

"That kid's life is remarkably resilient! Perhaps it’s true that fools are blessed with luck; no matter the torment they inflict, he simply refuses to perish!"

"Hush... Be quiet, they are approaching!"

Absorbing the hushed murmurs that arose from all sides, Luo Qingtong’s brow immediately creased.

Was it merely her imagination?

Why did the person they were discussing sound uncannily familiar to her?

The Hu Family, a fool?

Found from the outside?

Luo Qingtong frowned.

At that precise moment, the group had thundered up to the very entrance of the city.

Luo Qingtong’s gaze swept over them, and her eyes suddenly narrowed with sharp intensity.
