Su Yu secretly administers medicine to prisoners while Bai Jintang arrives looking for them. Discovering they were sent away, Bai Jintang orders his men to proceed with their original plan to ambush an item, leaving him to go to the same location the next day. He dismisses concerns for his safety, confident in his power and a protective amulet, while also revealing his family's plans to seize assets from the Hu Family before the Holy King Tomb opens.

Luo Qingtong’s gaze narrowed slightly behind the concealed door as these words were uttered.

The Holy King Tomb?

How could the other party possibly be aware of its existence?

And why were they discussing it so openly?

What’s more, judging by the controlled breathing patterns of the others present, they were also privy to this information and displayed no hint of surprise or outward emotion...

This certainly made the situation much more intriguing!

Luo Qingtong herself had gained knowledge of the Holy King Tomb through a map she possessed, which had allowed her to unravel its deeply guarded secrets.

Yu Sihuang and the members of Tianji Palace were also aware!

Could the Bai Family share this knowledge too?

If that were the case, wouldn’t Bai Jintang have made efforts to keep such a significant discovery confidential?

After all, if the Bai Family intended to leverage the immense power of the Holy King Tomb for their ascendancy, wouldn't they logically strive to keep it a closely guarded secret?

Yet, at this very moment...

Luo Qingtong could not perceive even the slightest trace of reservation in his tone.

This particular turn of events suggested two distinct possibilities: either every individual present was a loyal death soldier of the Bai Family, or... the existence of the Holy King Tomb had, for some unknown reason, already become widely known!

Luo Qingtong found herself leaning towards the latter explanation.

It was a reasonable assumption, considering that even the most trusted death soldiers could, on occasion, prove less than reliable!

Given the monumental importance of the Holy King Tomb, even if the Bai Family decided to confide in someone, they would likely select only one or two individuals of utmost trust.

There would be no logical necessity to disclose such sensitive information to every trusted confidant within their ranks.

The sole rational conclusion was that the secret of the Holy King Tomb was no longer a secret, hence their current unreserved discussion!

This, however, inevitably led to another pressing question:

How did this crucial piece of information leak in the first place?

The very individual or group who held dominion over the Holy King Tomb would be desperately trying to conceal it, yet someone had managed to broadcast its existence to the public?

And what’s more...

What was the significance of Bai Jintang specifically mentioning the Hu Family?

Was there some underlying connection between them and the Holy King Tomb?

A cascade of thoughts tumbled through Luo Qingtong’s mind, prompting an unexpected sense of gratitude towards Bai Jintang for orchestrating her capture and confinement.

Had it not been for this turn of events, she would have remained oblivious to these critical details, missing out on a substantial trove of vital intelligence.

As Luo Qingtong found herself immersed in deep contemplation, she suddenly overheard Bai Jintang issuing an instruction:

“Very well, all of you, proceed with your preparations!”

A chorus of affirmations followed, and the assembled group dispersed.

Listening intently to the sounds of Bai Jintang changing his garments as he proceeded into the inner chamber, Luo Qingtong narrowed her eyes and executed a fluid movement of her sleeve, turning away from view.

She surmised that the time it would take him to change would provide her with a crucial window of opportunity to enact her plans.

“Master!”

Emerging from the concealed chamber, Luo Qingtong was met by Su Yu, who promptly moved to her side.

A contingent of seven or eight individuals trailed behind Su Yu, immediately falling to their knees upon the sight of Luo Qingtong.

“Thank you, Master, for sparing our lives!”

They remained prostrate, offering deep kowtows of gratitude to Luo Qingtong.

Luo Qingtong directed her gaze towards Su Yu, who cleared her throat before offering an explanation:

“These are all independent cultivators whom Bai Jintang recently apprehended. He hadn’t yet subjected them to his usual torture methods...”

As she spoke, fiery indignation surged within Su Yu’s heart.

“Master, you cannot fathom the sheer depravity and excessive cruelty of Bai Jintang... those individuals... those people...”

Su Yu found herself struggling to articulate the horrific extent of their suffering.

It was only when she embarked on the rescue mission that she truly grasped the terrifying consequences of their ordeal.

Many had sustained grievous injuries, inflicted in ways too shocking to adequately describe.

Shortly after Su Yu administered the Medicine Liquid and they regained a modicum of strength, they promptly chose to end their own lives!

Only the few individuals now accompanying her had been captured only a few days prior by Bai Jintang. As he was still plotting to utilize the Cheng Family for his schemes, he had not yet inflicted severe torment upon them, merely holding them in detention and subjecting them to comparatively minor forms of punishment.

Otherwise, it was highly probable that they too would not have survived.
