Wang Qianjun and a beautiful woman discuss their plan to crush the Eastern Group and take over the international market, including acquiring Demon Crystals for research. Meanwhile, Ye Xuan is preparing to go abroad on a business trip with Lin Tong, but spends his last night with Su Yumo. Su Yumo expresses concern about the company's recent troubles, and Ye Xuan admits the situation is very serious, potentially a life-and-death battle.

"Indeed, that's accurate!"

A gentle smile graced Su Yumo's features, her apprehension finally starting to recede. "However, you must give me your solemn promise: when you embark on this business trip with the CEO, you will return safely and soundly!"

"Very well, I promise you," Ye Xuan responded with a smile.

Su Yumo voiced her displeasure, "You're far too nonchalant about it; it feels as though you're merely brushing me aside."

With a roll of his eyes, Ye Xuan queried, "How about I swear an oath upon it?"

A faint smirk touched Su Yumo's lips. "Now that sounds more like it!"

Ye Xuan offered a helpless shake of his head, yet a smile of genuine happiness couldn't be suppressed. He was acutely aware that Su Yumo had been carrying a heavy heart these past few days, her mind consumed by worry for his potential mishap.

Su Yumo was precisely like this. No matter how formidable Ye Xuan appeared, she would invariably fret like any ordinary woman, her sensitivity piercingly profound.

In a certain sense, this also betrayed an underlying lack of security.

Having endured immense hardship, the emotional void that had been accumulating since her childhood years would forever shadow Su Yumo.

Contemplating this, Ye Xuan drew the woman into his embrace even tighter, a sigh escaping him.

He understood that Su Yumo yearned for a tranquil existence, a life free from disquiet; Ye Xuan shared this desire, as did Lin Tong, Liu Ying, and the other women.

Yet, deep down, they all recognized that to attain such perpetual peace, the world itself would need to be devoid of all animosity.

No enmity in the world.

Merely a handful of words, yet their realization represented an incredibly weighty undertaking!

...

Nestled within Ye Xuan's comforting arms, Su Yumo gradually drifted into slumber.

Once Su Yumo was deeply asleep, Ye Xuan departed quietly. Instead of returning directly home, however, he made his way to Ye Xiaoying's residence.

The relationship between Ye Xuan and Ye Xiaoying was entirely innocent.

Although the timing might appear somewhat questionable, Ye Xuan harbored no ulterior motives whatsoever. His sole consideration was that his upcoming trip abroad would necessitate a separation of at least a week; therefore, he resolved to utilize this evening to administer treatment to Ye Xiaoying, thereby preventing any resurgence of the Cold Poison during his absence.

Before long, Ye Xuan reached Ye Xiaoying's doorstep.

He pushed the door open and entered.

Two striking figures came into view: one, a woman from Yan Country possessing a youthful countenance; the other, a Western woman who seemed to emanate a mythical aura.

Ye Xiaoying and the Kirin Princess, Iris.

"Boss Black Emperor!"

Upon sighting Ye Xuan, Iris, who had been keeping vigil beside Ye Xiaoying, swiftly inclined her head in greeting.

Ye Xuan waved a dismissive hand. "I've told you numerous times, my dear Kirin Princess, when you are within Yan Country, we are friends. There is absolutely no need for such formalities."

Iris's cheeks flushed slightly, and she offered a bashful smile without uttering a word, appearing remarkably shy.

This demeanor was quite contrary to her striking appearance and completely at odds with her typically spirited and mischievous nature. Yet, she could not help herself. In Ye Xuan's presence, she invariably adopted this comportment, resembling an utterly innocent young girl.

She was genuinely nervous.

It was akin to a woman, usually bold and uninhibited, suddenly encountering her deeply cherished crush. Regardless of her carefree disposition, she would instinctively adopt a guarded and reserved stance.

Witnessing the Kirin Princess's uncharacteristic awkwardness, Ye Xuan couldn't help but feel a sense of speechlessness.

He let out a wry chuckle, closed the door, and directly approached Ye Xiaoying, who was reclining on the sofa. With a lighthearted tone, he inquired, "How is your sword wound healing?"

Ye Ying cast Ye Xuan a glance, her lips forming a pout as she responded, "Still not dead."

Her words were clearly laced with indignation.

Ye Xuan narrowed his eyes, instantly displeased. "Ye Ying, that is hardly fair. I extend my concern to you, and you respond with such insolence. What is the meaning of this?"

"Hmph, your concern is feigned, and I have no need for it," Ye Xiaoying retorted irritably. "After all these years as old classmates, even knowing I sustained an injury, you've only visited twice in all these days. Do you truly expect me to greet you with a pleasant expression? You must be dreaming!"

Ye Xuan's temper flared. "Ye Ying, I am occupied!"

"Occupied charming young ladies on your travels?" Ye Xiaoying sneered. "Ye Xuan, I've seen right through you!"

Iris observed the two engaged in their bickering, the corners of her lips twitching. She yearned to laugh but dared not, a hint of bitterness tingeing her heart.

How she envied her sister-in-law...

"I have no desire to continue this pointless argument with you?"

After a brief exchange of verbal jabs, Ye Xuan raised his hand to signal the conclusion of this particular verbal sparring match. With a tone of impatience, he declared, "Lie down on the bed and switch off the air conditioning. I shall administer acupuncture to you."

"A treatment is a treatment; why must you phrase it so suggestively?" Ye Xiaoying's face flushed slightly as she grumbled, but she didn't hesitate, rising and positioning herself on the bed.

She then casually shed her nightgown.

Ye Xuan moved closer, his gaze involuntarily lingering for a moment. A surge of heat coursed through him, his mind thrown into disarray.

Such exquisite torment, Ye Ying. Why couldn't you have remained that little snot-nosed brat? The older you grow, the more stunning you become. Each encounter leaves me feeling slightly more shattered.

You've gradually come to accept yourself, becoming increasingly comfortable in your own skin, while I find myself increasingly tormented!

With a secret sigh, Ye Xuan began reciting the Ice Heart Technique, preparing to commence the acupuncture. However, he couldn't help but notice Ye Xiaoying's beautiful eyes fixed on Princess Iris of the Kirin clan.

"Princess Iris is a genuine woman, are you afraid she'll take advantage of you?" Ye Xuan inquired with palpable exasperation. "Even if she wanted to, that was all she managed to gain last time!"

"Oh, be quiet and mind your own business!"

Ye Xiaoying averted her gaze, lifted her small foot, and aimed a kick at Ye Xuan.

Ye Xuan easily deflected the kick with his hand. He then brought his hand up to his nose, sniffing with a look of peculiar curiosity. "This is truly odd. In this day and age, it's rare to find someone without foot odor, yet yours still smells pleasant."

Ye Xiaoying's face flushed. "Ye Xuan, go to hell!"

She attempted to kick him again.

But Ye Xuan offered no second chances. Swiftly maneuvering, he expertly inserted the first acupuncture needle into Ye Xiaoying's body.

Instantly, Ye Xiaoying became quiescent. Given the life-threatening nature of the procedure, she dared not make a move. She could only glare intensely at Ye Xuan, silently submitting to his treatment.

Throughout the acupuncture session, Ye Xiaoying continued to cast furtive glances at Iris.

Yet, Iris, hyper-aware of Ye Xuan's presence, remained tense and guarded, completely oblivious to Ye Xiaoying's scrutinizing gaze.

Ye Xiaoying grew increasingly anxious. Could Ye Xuan possibly possess such overwhelming charm?

The normally vivacious and talkative Iris spoke, her voice tinged with urgency. "Call me sister-in-law, just so Ye Xuan can hear."

"If you don't call me that, how will I gauge his reaction? If hearing you address me as sister-in-law causes him to resist or reject me, then I need to be forewarned."

"Otherwise, when the time comes and I've completed my mission, I might openly confess my feelings only to be harshly rebuffed. He'd say he treats me like a sister but wants to sleep with me – what kind of twisted logic is that?"

But alas.

No matter how fervently Ye Xiaoying willed it in her mind, Iris showed no inclination to act.

Eventually, Ye Xiaoying conceded defeat.

"Oh well, whether this life will ever grant me the opportunity to express my feelings for him is a separate matter entirely. It's best to just let fate decide."

The following day, as the first rays of dawn broke, Ye Xuan and his family arrived at East Sea International Airport.

Little Yun Duo, looking endearingly sleepy, perched atop Ye Xuan's shoulder, while Lin Tong and Liu Ying were still engrossed in a discussion about some work-related matters.
