Is this the real reason he wants a divorce?
No wonder he’s so eager to get divorced; turns out he’s with Crystal White now.
Celeste Linden turned and left.
Ethan Barnes was standing with Crystal White; that phone call had indeed been made by Crystal White, who had invited him out to discuss Celeste Linden.
“Crystal, just hurry up and say what you have to say, otherwise I’m leaving,” Ethan said coldly and indifferently.
Crystal quickly spoke, “Ethan, don’t leave, I have something to tell you.”
Last time Celeste lied to her, saying Ethan’s health was poor, but it turned out Ethan was very healthy, stirring Crystal’s affections again; her eyes were filled with admiration.
“Then say it, what do you want to say about my wife?”
Sure enough, if it wasn’t to talk about Celeste, he wouldn’t have come out.
A deep jealousy flashed in Crystal’s eyes, “Ethan, why do you like Celeste so much? She doesn’t love you at all. If she did, she wouldn’t have aborted the baby. That baby was yours; her heart is too cruel.”
An intense light swiftly surged in Ethan’s deep, narrow eyes, “Crystal, how do you know my wife was going to abort the baby?”
Very few people knew about this.
Crystal realized she had slipped up and quickly tried to cover it up, “I heard it from someone else.”
Is that so?
Ethan narrowed his eyes, suspiciously looking at Crystal. However, he didn’t ask further, fearing he might alert the snake; something was strange about Crystal, and anomalies often signal danger. He needed to investigate further.
Just then, a noise came from not far away, and he looked over, “Who’s there?”
All was quiet over there, no one in sight.
Meow~
At that moment, a little tabby cat walked out.
“Ethan, it’s just a cat; why are you so tense?”
Ethan, with his hands in his pockets, coolly lifted his lips, “Of course I’m tense; I’m a married man now. You might shamelessly cling to a married man, but I’m terrified my wife will see and misunderstand.”
Crystal’s face turned pale; she reached out and grabbed Ethan’s sleeve, “Ethan, are you really so heartless to me? I don’t believe you feel nothing for me; when we worked on missions together, you protected me differently!”
“Let go!” Ethan sharply shook Crystal off.
Crystal lost her balance, stumbling back a few steps, as Ethan coldly stared at her, “To me, you are just like my brothers. I’d save you just as I’d save them. All of this is your foolish delusion; in my eyes and heart, there’s only my wife. I wish I could give her my heart. Crystal, I wish I’d never met you.”
With that, Ethan strode away.
…
Ethan returned home and entered the bedroom. Celeste Linden was lying on the bed, her back turned, sleeping.
Ethan wanted to reach out and touch her face, but before he could, Celeste raised her hand and slapped his hand away, “Don’t touch me!”
Why was she so fierce?
“Celeste, have I offended you again?” Ethan asked, feeling quite innocent.
Celeste, with her eyes closed and eyelashes trembling, asked, “Who did you meet just now?”
She was still willing to give him a chance to confess voluntarily.
“I met someone unimportant.”
He still wasn’t telling the truth.
Celeste sat up and threw a pillow at him, “Get out; I don’t want to see you!”
