Celeste Linden felt uncomfortable and realized she might be pregnant. She tried to give her leftover ice cream to her daughter, Danielle, but Danielle insisted she give it to Ethan Barnes. Ethan agreed to eat the ice cream if Celeste fed him, leading to an intimate moment. Celeste, flustered, quickly finished feeding him and then retreated. Later, after Danielle fell asleep, Celeste prepared to share a bed with Ethan.

Ethan Barnes finished handling his business affairs late at night. He left the study and entered the master bedroom.

The room was illuminated with a dim yellow light, and Celeste Linden along with Danielle were already asleep.

He wasn’t sure whether it was the figures on the bed or the soft lighting that softened his handsome features. He stepped forward, looked at the mother and daughter, and then went into the bathroom to shower.

A few minutes later, he came out, got into bed, but did not lie down immediately. Instead, he reached out to embrace Celeste Linden from the inner side.

He moved the porcelain-like Danielle further inside the bed, letting Celeste Linden lie within his arm, sleeping in his embrace.

This was the correct way to sleep, rather than having Danielle sleep between them.

Ethan lowered his gaze to the woman in his arms, then bowed his head, letting his thin lips fall on her cheek for a tentative kiss.

Seeing she didn’t wake up, he then closed his handsome eyes and kissed her red lips.

This smooth and fragrant feeling hadn’t been experienced in a long time; just a taste made one addicted. Ethan parted her shell-like teeth and kissed deeply.

Hmm.

In her dreams, Celeste Linden began dreaming. She felt as if a large stone was pressing down on her chest, making it difficult to breathe.

She stirred uneasily.

The large stone on her body quickly retreated, her furrowed brows relaxed, and she entered slumber once more.

But she wasn’t able to sleep for long. The large stone pressed down again, repeating several times, quite annoyingly.

Celeste Linden turned over, trying to get away from that large stone.

Yet the large stone attached itself from behind, with its scorching breath enveloping her, slowly making her feel someone was unfastening her button.

No.

She tightly clutched her collar.

But this couldn’t deter the large stone from behind. Two blushes rapidly stained her cheeks, even her small ear lobes started to burn.

No.

Celeste Linden suddenly opened her eyes, feeling momentarily confused. Upon seeing the morning light creeping in from the window, she realized it was already the next day’s dawn.

The space beside her was empty, Ethan and Danielle were already up.

She lay alone in bed, still in last night’s position, untouched.

Celeste Linden pulled the quilt over her face, unable to hide her shame, because last night she had... a very bad dream. Why would she have such a dream?

She dreamt of Ethan Barnes; in the dream, she whimpered as he transformed into a large stone hugging her from behind and kissing her, intentionally asking in a sexy, raspy voice "What’s wrong".

Celeste Linden lifted the quilt, got out of bed, turned on the faucet and splashed cold water on her face to rouse herself from the dream.

Even though she didn’t know why she had such a dream, she was determined never to have such a dream again.

After tidying herself up, Celeste Linden went downstairs, hearing peals of laughter from afar; Ethan was playing with Danielle on the lawn. Danielle sat atop her daddy’s high, handsome shoulders, playing flying, thoroughly enjoying herself.

"Wow, I’m flying so high~"

Standing there, Celeste Linden watched them, a slight smile blooming at the corner of her lips.

Originally marrying him was compelled by circumstances, forced by unavoidable necessity. She had been prepared for tumultuous days, to endure for the sake of her daughter’s comprehensive well-being. However, she hadn’t expected such peaceful married life, accompanied by warm sunshine and soft moonlight. At this moment, Celeste Linden felt a real sense of stability in life.

Just then, Ethan Barnes saw Celeste Linden. He set Danielle down, who dashed toward her with tiny legs and giggling with childlike delight, "Mommy, you’re up!"
