Vanessa Willow immediately fell silent.
Morgan Ashworth glanced at her again, impatiently saying, "Why aren’t you leaving? What are you staying here for? Do you really think I’ll invite you to dinner?"
Vanessa Willow: "..."
He did invite me for dinner, but it turns out it was just an empty promise. Vanessa Willow left immediately.
Morgan Ashworth sat alone in the living room, while the little one upstairs cried heartbreaking cries, "Daddy, let me out quickly, I want to see my mommy! Humph, you’re a big meanie, I don’t like you anymore!"
Outside, Willow Crawford was frantically banging on the door, "Morgan Ashworth, open the door! What right do you have to stop me from seeing my son?"
Mother and son, one inside and one outside, were both accusing him.
Morgan Ashworth snorted coldly, ignoring them both.
...
Outside, Willow Crawford had not left. She yelled and shouted until she was exhausted, but Morgan Ashworth still hadn’t opened the door for her. She sat down on the steps.
Because her little boy was still inside and she wasn’t at ease, unwilling to be apart from her son, she decided not to leave. She planned to stay there until he finally opened the door for her.
Morgan Ashworth worked late into the night in his study. It was already deep into the night when his close aide Eleven came over, "President, Princess Willow has not left and is still on the steps outside."
Morgan Ashworth looked at the documents, without raising his eyes at all, "If she likes staying there, let her stay, don’t bother with her."
Eleven was quite taken aback; this time, their esteemed President finally stood his ground, not letting Willow Crawford lead him by the nose.
Since knowing Willow Crawford, the initiative had firmly been in the hands of the princess. Eleven hoped their President could hold on till the end.
After finishing work, Morgan Ashworth returned to his room. Everything was quiet from the little one’s room next door; presumably, he had cried himself to sleep from exhaustion. He returned to his room, took a cold shower, and then went to the balcony to look downstairs.
Willow Crawford was sitting alone on the steps. It was a bit cold in the deep night, and she was dressed quite thinly, hugging her knees to give herself a little warmth.
From Morgan Ashworth’s angle, she appeared as a small, solitary figure, quite pitiable. This once-proud daughter of the heavens had never experienced such cold treatment before; he had always held her in his heart.
Morgan Ashworth couldn’t help but feel a twinge of heartache for her. But then he remembered how she had never given him much thought and the hurt she had inflicted on him in the past; he hardened his heart, turned back to bed, covered himself with the blanket, and closed his eyes to sleep.
But he couldn’t sleep.
At night, with only himself to accompany him, it was hard not to let his thoughts wander.
He was a normal man, after all, with natural needs, especially having been with her just the other night. In that small steam-filled shower, her flushed cheeks, seductive glances in the throes of passion—she used to be like an unripe fruit, but now much more sophisticated and perfectly compatible with him—made her unforgettable to him.
Morgan Ashworth tossed and turned in bed, agitated for a long time, contemplating getting up for another cold shower in the bathroom.
But suddenly he had a thought—why should he put himself through this when she was just downstairs?
...
Just when Willow Crawford thought she was going to spend the night there, the door was suddenly opened by a maid who said, "Miss Crawford, my master invites you inside."
Really?
He’s so kind?
Willow Crawford stood up immediately, feeling her legs going numb, and hurried upstairs, intending to go to the little one’s room.
But the maid stopped her, "Miss Crawford, you can’t see the young master right now. You must go to the master’s room first."
