Mo Yan takes over the management of her family's company with the support of Huo Corporation's substantial investment. Meanwhile, Huo Zhen, despite his injury, decides to return, promising Mo Yan a dinner together. Mo Yan is then tasked with securing a new contract with Su Hai.

Mo Yan arrived at the reception desk of the Su Corporation. Before she could even state her business, she witnessed Su Hai jesting with the young receptionist. His attempt at a dated joke, coupled with his expectation of a response, was quite telling.

The rumors indeed held water; he certainly had a penchant for attractive women.

A soft cough from Mo Yan interrupted the scene.

Su Hai turned, his demeanor instantly brightening as he spotted Mo Yan. Like a child presented with a new toy, he eagerly approached her. "Oh, hello there! Isn’t this the captivating lady from the charity gala? What was your name again?"

Mo Yan offered a simple smile, relieved that Su Hai still recognized her.

"My name is Mo Yan. I’m here today to finalize a contract with you. You mentioned previously that you preferred not to discuss business at the gala. Now that we are in the office during business hours, it should be more convenient, wouldn't you agree?"

"Follow me upstairs."

A flicker of annoyance crossed Su Hai’s face. He grudgingly moved aside, glancing back at the receptionist. "Wait here. I'll share that joke with you once I’m done."

The receptionist could only manage a wry smile, secretly glad that Su Hai was finally departing.

Back in his office, Su Hai settled into his chair, his earlier casual disposition vanishing completely. He scrutinized Mo Yan from head to toe. "Miss Mo, how should I address you? As the chairman of Mo Real Estate? Or perhaps as Mrs. Huo?"

Mo Yan’s eyes widened, and she stood frozen, quite taken aback.

He knew?

Mere moments ago, he pretended not to recall her name, yet now he not only knew her affiliation with the Mo family but also her connection to Huo Zhen. It was remarkable, considering Huo Zhen had used the alias Luo Tao for so long, and his true appearance was known to very few.

"Don't be alarmed, my dear. I have business dealings with Huo Zhen, and I have my methods for uncovering information I seek."

Su Hai gave a sly smile, his gaze still lingering on Mo Yan. "I simply hadn't anticipated that Huo Zhen, who typically keeps his distance from women, would have a taste for beauties, much like myself."

Instead of feeling flattered by Su Hai's remark, Mo Yan felt a growing sense of unease.

Forcing an unnatural smile, she replied, "It’s truly not appropriate to discuss Huo Zhen and me in detail. Let’s focus on our collaboration. Here is the contract our company prepared earlier. You can provide your general direction, and we can discuss the specifics at a later time."

As Mo Yan spoke, she presented the contract to Su Hai with both hands.

Su Hai accepted the document and casually flipped through a couple of pages, his eyes returning to Mo Yan for a few moments. During the charity gala, Mo Yan had certainly captured his interest. He had not only been willing to spend lavishly on her but had also intended to leverage his connections to find her after her unexplained disappearance.

He had even received the ransom note. At that time, his plan was to pay the sum, thereby earning Mo Yan's gratitude...

However, all those intentions dissolved the moment he learned of Mo Yan’s relationship with Huo Zhen.

Huo Zhen was a formidable figure – wealthy and influential. Everyone sought to collaborate with him, and no one dared to make an enemy of such a powerful individual. Though parting with Mo Yan was difficult, Su Hai understood the pragmatic course of action. She was, after all, just a woman, and another could easily be found in her place.

There was no need to jeopardize his relationship with Huo Zhen over this matter.

Su Hai meticulously reviewed the contract details while Mo Yan stood quietly by.

This was the contract she had diligently pursued, the project she had long aspired to bring to fruition.

"On the whole, I have no significant objections. However, these two clauses require slight amendments, or you can take them back for further consideration." After finishing his review, Su Hai returned the contract to Mo Yan. "Does Huo Zhen's woman truly need to work this hard? Isn't he willing to provide you with ample spending money?"

Mo Yan was on the verge of mentioning that Huo Zhen had purchased a company for her. However, she had never been one for ostentation, and besides, it wasn't something she wished to flaunt widely.

"I still wish to prove my own capabilities. I don't want to be solely reliant on him for everything."

Mo Yan looked earnestly at Su Hai, her conviction clear.

"You are indeed intriguing." It was undeniable that Mo Yan stood apart from the women Su Hai typically encountered; she possessed a greater degree of independence and her own distinct perspectives. "Perhaps we could have a casual dinner tonight."

"I apologize, but I have a prior engagement this evening."

"Don't misunderstand, it's merely a simple meal, nothing more. As Huo Zhen's woman, I have no reason to provoke him on your account." Su Hai assumed Mo Yan declined the dinner invitation due to concerns about Huo Zhen's potential reaction.

"That is not the reason, actually," Mo Yan replied with a smile. "Huo Zhen is returning tonight and has invited me to dinner."
