Jason reassures a worried Gina that she and the others are safe on Minori, promising to visit after settling matters on L'horm. He resolves to confront the Court of Apostles and his brother before the baby arrives. After defeating a lightning dragon and bringing its corpse back, Jason oversees the rebuilding of L'horm using his subordinates. He then proposes an alliance with the Northern Alliance Academy: in exchange for a steady supply of Mortal Severance pills to boost Earth's mages, Jason offers protection and discounted Aqualith stone.

"I can tell you have a passion for research and science. You’re not a fighter. This alliance will allow you to focus on what you want to do, and you can leave your protection to me. Also, I’ve been thinking about expanding the educational system of this domain for a long time. A lot of worlds are too ignorant about magic and what it can really do. I think the Northern Alliance Academy will be the perfect foundation for something like that. We can expand the Academy to even more worlds and take in more students. It’s a deal that would be beneficial for both of us."

Jaen really couldn’t argue against that! Jaen had already been thinking about expanding for a long time, and the only reason Jaen hadn’t done it before was because Jaen did not trust the previous overlord Rubik at all! Rubik was a tyrant, and Jaen knew that if he involved Rubik in the academy, then Rubik would most likely steal all the research and sell it for himself. But Jason was different, and Jaen felt he could trust Jason to have the best interests of the Northern Alliance Academy in every decision Jason made.

Besides, Jaen knew that Jason was also right about the need for protection. In his heart, Jaen was a researcher, not a fighter, and he would rather leave the fighting to other people if he could help it! If Jason promised to give them protection, then there was really nothing Jaen needed to worry about in this domain!

Jaen had already been right on the edge of agreeing, but it was Jason’s last offer that really pushed Jaen right off the edge! Jason put his hand to the side, and the massive corpse of the Phantasmal Lightning Dragon fell to the ground beside him! Jaen’s eyes widened once he saw the corpse, and Jason smiled when he saw the intense desire shining in Jaen’s eyes! It was obvious that Jaen wanted to tear that corpse apart and study it immediately!

"I don’t have any more use for this corpse, so as a symbol of our future Alliance, I will be willing to leave it in the care of your Academy."

Jaen’s lips curled up into the widest smile that Jason had ever seen from him, and Jason laughed when Jaen put his hand out for a handshake!

"I look forward to working with you, Lord Jason!"

Jason took Jaen’s hand, and they struck the deal!

That had been the previous day, and now Jason was walking towards the throne room of the L’horm royal palace calmly. Jason looked out the window at his side, and he saw that the construction around the kingdom was already coming to an end. After a few more days, the Jamani should be done, and Jason would finally be able to leave this world. Jason had already helped Jaen transport the Primordial Corpse as well as other research materials to the world of the Machina. Since the corpse was so precious, Jason placed the corpse in his Alternate Dimension and simply dropped it off in Machina, and now there were only a few more things for the researchers to collect before they would move away from L’horm completely.

There was also a massive Mana stone inside of Jason’s Alternate Dimension that Jason was looking forward to consuming later. The Mana stone was from the Primordial Lightning Dragon, and Jason was shocked when Jaen had offered it to him. Jason had asked Jaen if the mana stone was necessary for his research, and Jaen shook his head and said that the stone wasn’t important. The only thing they needed from the Primordial was its Primordial Heart, so Jason was free to take the stone for himself. Jason was looking forward to consuming it soon.

’Hey, finish this off quickly so we can go! We don’t have all the time in the world!’

Esdath’s annoying voice suddenly spoke up from Jason’s Alternate Dimension, and Jason hummed as he continued walking again. Jason and Esdath had spoken for a long time yesterday about what Jason needed to do to become stronger. Jason believed that he should go out and search for more Primordials to kill and consume, but Esdath told Jason that the best thing to do now was to first travel to the Eastern Mountain Sect on Esdath’s old world and complete his Qi Awakening so he could acquire a Cultivation Technique. Jason’s Resonance was already very powerful now, but Esdath knew that there was still a lot of potential that Jason hadn’t unlocked yet!

Right now, Jason was literally only using base Qi to fight. This was the Qi that most creatures could create naturally, and it was very common! But if Jason went through an Awakening, then everything would change! Not only would Jason’s Qi get stronger, but his Resonance would also advance by leaps and bounds! But in order to get the best benefits from his Qi, Jason would need to go to the Eastern Mountain Sect first!

Jason had agreed to follow Esdath’s advice, and ever since then Esdath had been nagging Jason to hurry up so they could leave. It was honestly getting annoying.

’Shut up, you old bastard. I’m almost done.’

’Show some respect for your teacher, you rude bastard! Kids these days have no respect! Don’t you know that the Eastern Mountain Sect is the epitome of the cultivator’s experience! The fact that you are about to go there should be the most memorable event of your life! Why aren’t you more excited!?’

Jason clicked his tongue, and he cut off the mental link when Esdath began to rant! Jason had to find a way to take the bastard’s voice away! Jason made his way down the hall, and he waved calmly to the few guards who bowed when they passed him. Ever since the Jamani were destroyed, the palace guards had finally started returning to their usual duties, and the rest of the kingdom was also a lot more peaceful than before! Stragga and the other superhumans who Jason had come with were outside helping the repair efforts while waiting for when they would return home. But there was still one problem that Jason needed to fix before he could leave this world behind.

Jason arrived at the large door leading into the throne room, and the two guards stationed there bowed and opened the door to allow him in. Once Jason entered, he saw Prince Makin standing close to the window and looking out on the kingdom with his hands behind his back. There was a defeated air around him, like he was coming to terms with the reality of his failure, and once Jason entered the room, he turned around and bowed to Jason respectfully.

"Lord Jason. I’m pleased to be in your presence."

Jason waved away the greeting calmly, and he went towards the throne and sat comfortably. Usually, only the King was allowed to sit on the throne, but Jason didn’t really care about all of that. This was the most comfortable chair in this room, so Jason was going to use it! Jason leaned back on the throne and spoke.

"Do you now understand what you did wrong?"

Jason spoke to Makin in a calm tone, and Makin bowed his head. Makin knew that everything that had happened on his world was his fault. If he had not made a deal with the Jamani mercenaries all those months ago, then they would’ve never gained such a significant amount of influence over L’horm! The fact that so much damage was done to his world due to his decision made him feel like a complete failure!

Even before hiring the Jamani, Makin already knew it would be difficult to get rid of them after the war ended. The Jamani were very strong, and it wasn’t difficult for them to beat the royal army, but after defeating the royal army, there was no one left in the kingdom to face the Jamani, and that allowed the Jamani to take over and do whatever they wanted!
