While relaxing at a hot spring resort, Gina, Riyala, and Hesabeth discuss their pregnancies and relationships with Jason. Riyala expresses envy over Gina's fast-progressing pregnancy, while Hesabeth laments her distance from Jason due to his busy schedule as an Overlord. Riyala encourages Hesabeth to reach out to Jason, assuring her he will make time for her.

"Maybe I should plan a date for the two of us?"

Hesabeth said this in a low tone, but since Gina and Riyala were superhumans, they both heard her easily, and Gina clapped her hands with a wide smile.

"That’s a wonderful idea! I went on a date with Jason the other day, and it was amazing!"

"Eeh, you went on a date! To where!?"

Riyala sat up quickly as she asked this, and even Hesabeth perked up and paid attention as Gina began telling them about the trip she took to an amusement park with Jason!

The three women spoke and laughed together at Gina’s stories, and after a while some of the other women came around to socialise with the sister-wives. Riyala’s guard came to greet Hesabeth and Gina while providing some drinks for them, and Georgia came to ask Hesabeth about some of the legends that had been spreading around the Primordial Expanse about her. Hesabeth was the Prideful Queen who did not relate to peasants in most people’s eyes, so Georgia knew it was rare to have this opportunity to talk to such a great woman in this relaxed setting, and Georgia wanted to learn as much as she could from the powerful woman!

But as the women enjoyed themselves, they had no idea of the dangers that were slowly being awakened on the other side of the Primordial Expanse. A creature unlike anything a mortal mind could ever hope to comprehend stirred for the first time in close to a millennium, and the entire Primordial Expanse shivered in response!

Hesabeth blinked in surprise as she felt a weird sensation travel through her body, and she looked up to try and sense if there was something coming. But the sensation vanished just as quickly as it came, and Hesabeth was left wondering what in the world had happened! Gina called out to Hesabeth when Gina noticed the look on Hesabeth’s face, and Gina asked if Hesabeth was alright.

"Yes, I’m quite alright. I simply felt a strange sensation for a moment. It must’ve been nothing."

Hesabeth leaned back in her recliner, and she turned to continue speaking to Georgia. But Hesabeth wouldn’t know that what she had felt at that moment was not nothing! In fact, that feeling was the very first signal sent out by the Primordial Expanse as a warning of what was to come, and as the favourite child of the Primordial Expanse, the world itself was already putting things in place to ensure Hesabeth was well protected.

Magic itself responded to the world’s desires by spreading a thick layer of mana around Minori that could be activated at any moment, and the world layered Hesabeth’s body with magic that would make it easy to track and protect her! None of the girls noticed any of these things happening, and by the time they found out what was happening, it would already be too late for most of the Primordial Expanse!

[The World of L’horm]

A small delegation made up of the current ruler of L’horm, Vanix’s brother, Makin, as well as a few mercenaries, moved quickly through the halls of the royal castle as they headed towards the throne room. There were a few royal servants and guards who passed beside Makin as he moved, and Makin ignored all their greetings as he felt a nervousness coming over his entire body. Makin did not know how this was possible, but he really should’ve expected it. After everything he had been through, there were very few things that caused any form of nervousness in Makin, but the news he had gotten just a few minutes ago was probably the only thing capable of still putting fear into his heart!

According to reports, Vanix had gone to meet with the overlord of the domain to report the recent mutiny that led to his removal as king, and the overlord had actually left his world, and he arrived on L’horm a few seconds ago to meet with Makin! Makin did not know what to expect once he meets the overlord. Makin had heard the stories of the great exploits Overlord Jason carried out across the Primordial Expanse. The fight against the [Beast of the Apocalypse] and the battle against the world itself when he faced Queen Hesabeth were sung by bards and told by storytellers in nearly every single bar in the Primordial Expanse! Even children who had never heard about the Overlord before know about the man who survived against the world.

But none of those stories told Makin anything about what sort of person Jason was. Was Jason the sort of person who would wait and listen to what Makin had to say and allow Makin to explain the reason behind this mutiny, or would Jason be the sort of person who immediately supports King Vanix and kills Makin for daring to try and usurp the throne? Makin did not know.

And that was why Makin was taking these few mercenaries along with him, even though Makin knew that the mercenaries wouldn’t stand a chance against Jason! If a fight breaks out, they might be able to buy Makin a few seconds so he could run away!

’But will something like that even be possible? From the stories I’ve heard, the overlord has power over the dead. Will I be able to take a step before I’m killed?’

After a few more minutes of walking, Makin and his guards finally arrived at a large door leading into the throne room, and Makin stopped and let out a breath to try and calm himself.

"Remember the plan. If he asks about us, then say you hired us as your personal guards, and we left the mercenary life behind."

The person who spoke was one of the men standing behind Makin. He was a burly troll with green skin and two long teeth that stuck up from his mouth. There were multiple black runes tattooed on his skin, and he had a long sword on his back. This was one of the vice captains of the Jamani mercenary group, and Makin gave a respectful nod to the troll once he heard the instructions.

Makin took in another breath to try and calm himself, but the door to the room was suddenly opened, and Makin nearly choked on his breath! The inside of the throne room was exactly the same as Makin remembered it, but there was now an intense pressure that settled on everyone present there! Like they were entering a completely different place! Makin felt like a rat that was about to walk into the lion’s den, and it was all because of the single man reclining calmly on the throne with his cheek resting against his fist.

’He looks so young.’

Makin didn’t know why this thought suddenly came to him, but when he looked at Overlord Jason, Makin couldn’t help but think that Jason looked far too young for the amount of responsibility that had been placed on his shoulders! The people of L’horm had a similar life expectancy to humans, so Makin looked like an older forty-year-old man, and in Makin’s eyes, Jason looked like a twenty-year-old man who had only just become an adult! But Makin knew that it would be foolish to judge people based on their appearance alone, and he got rid of that thought as he stepped into the lion’s den.

From up on the throne, Jason was staring down at the delegation with emotionless eyes. Beside Jason, Stragga, and the other two superhumans who had been chosen to come along were standing respectfully, and they all watched Makin and his guards as they entered. Once Makin reached the middle of the room, he went down on one knee with all the guards behind him, and they spoke respectfully.

"We greet the great Overlord of the Sixth Domain."
