Jason and Hesabeth stand trial for their inter-world battle, which resulted in immense destruction. The council, led by C'thlyanu, declares it a crime of immense scale, but frames the proceedings as a mere formality. Hesabeth readily accepts responsibility, and the council ultimately rules that the crime was not entirely within their control. Hesabeth is tasked with supervising the rebuilding of destroyed worlds and must pay a hefty fine, though Jason suspects the entire trial was a staged charade.

Hesabeth harbored a hope that Jason wasn’t displeased by her decision. However, Jason simply offered a smile, assuring her it was acceptable. He recognized that Hesabeth had secured the most advantageous deal possible under the prevailing circumstances. Since they had managed to evade incarceration, Jason found the outcome perfectly fine! With a beaming smile, Hesabeth turned and vanished through a portal, resuming her elevated position. Abruptly, a resonant voice boomed throughout the hall once more, summoning both Jason and Gina to take their seats in the viewing area.

The two cherished companions ascended from the ground, proceeding to join the other TITAN Ranks designated for the subsequent phase of this assembly. Alongside Jason and Gina were the formidable, Amazonian-like warriors hailing from Bengari. A contingent of bulky, lizard-like beings, led by a particularly massive individual, occupied a spot before them. Additionally, a pair of cloaked figures, their faces concealed by masks, and a solitary, tall man wielding a long staff were present. Despite their diverse origins, a singular characteristic united every individual gathered: their status as TITAN Rank powerhouses! Jason and Gina stood out as the sole TITAN Rank III entities in the assembly. Everyone else comprised either TITAN Rank I or II individuals. Jason could palpable sense the escalating tension within the chamber, a palpable aura emanating from the sheer concentration of superpowered beings!

Within the confines of the Sixth Domain, these individuals alone possessed the requisite strength to be considered for council membership. Moreover, they met the vast majority of the other stringent criteria established by the council. This implied that by the conclusion of the current proceedings, one of the assembled individuals would ascend to the prestigious position of presiding head of the Sixth Primordial Domain.

Farlow surveyed the assembled group, an immediate realization dawning upon him: this selection process would prove anything but straightforward! A significant number of the gathered cultivators were seasoned warriors who had played pivotal roles in the establishment of the Primordial Treaty years prior. Consequently, they commanded a greater degree of prestige among the Elder Worlds within their domain than Jason did! Yet, while the other contenders boasted more extensive experience, that alone was insufficient to guarantee them the coveted title. Even though Jason lacked the extensive historical standing of the others, he possessed an intangible quality that set him apart from everyone else present: the legend factor! In the mere months since Jason acquired his extraordinary abilities, he had carved out a formidable reputation across numerous worlds within his Primordial domain, propelling him to a legendary status surpassing all others seated there! This renowned standing ensured that Jason could not only command fear and reverence from his domain's inhabitants, even in his absence, but also grant him the unrestricted authority to command and penalize any who faltered in their duties!

'However, it appears to be insufficient. Other factors are detrimentally impacting his ranking. Paramount among these is the very world he originates from. Earth, regrettably, lacks the necessary strength to be regarded as the leader of a Primordial Domain.'

A frown creased Farlow's brow as he cast a glance towards Rak’hael, positioned opposite him. She was fixated on Jason with an expression of evident annoyance. During the council's earlier private deliberations, Rak’hael had been the most vocal detractor of Jason's candidacy, making it exceptionally clear that she would be the most probable to reject his claim to the seat. Farlow emitted a soft sigh and turned just as C’thlyanu began to speak.

"Very well, now that we are convened in private, I believe we can commence. I am certain the purpose of our gathering is known to all, obviating any need for preamble. We have convened to select a new luminary for the Sixth Domain who shall assume the mantle of Overlord. As per established tradition, the council has identified the four individuals with the greatest potential to vie for this esteemed position. Firstly, Diane Ralkikov, Queen of Bengari and the celebrated Warrior General credited with the monumental victory at the Falling Mountains. Secondly, Vagart Blunde, Sovereign of the Parital Lizardmen tribe and holder of the revered title, Primordial Killer. Thirdly, Jaen Trush, esteemed Dean of the Northern Solstice Alliance Magical Academy and progenitor of the magnificent Second Grade Rune, [Blasphemy of a Thousand Suns]. And fourthly, Jason Marc, the enigmatic figure behind the epic saga of the Undying King. We shall engage in deliberation within this chamber for the duration required, with the hope that upon our conclusion, a mutually agreeable resolution will be reached, and the Council of Nine and One will once again be made whole."

Jason maintained his composure as C’thlyanu gracefully assumed control of the assembly, directing their attention to the matters at hand. He understood that this meeting would be concluded swiftly, as the council members had already formed opinions on their preferred candidates and awaited only the final vote. The congregation of these formidable individuals was merely a formality to ensure transparency in the council's decision-making process. C’thlyanu's voice then broke through Jason's reflections.

"We shall commence with a preliminary vote," C’thlyanu announced. "With nine council members present, each will cast a vote for the candidate they deem most suitable for the council. The outcome of this vote will be thoroughly examined and debated before a second, decisive vote is cast, taking into account all new considerations. The individual who secures the majority in this final vote will be bestowed with the esteemed title of Overlord of the Sixth Domain. Shall we proceed to vote?"

A ballot materialized before each council member, accompanied by a writing implement. As they prepared to record their choices, a voice interjected, halting the proceedings.

"Hold, I wish to voice a concern before we continue."

All eyes turned towards the second seat on the council, where Rak’hael leaned forward, her hands clasped before her, a frown etching her features. Rak’hael had anticipated this precise moment, knowing that her objection might be dismissed under different circumstances. However, she was resolute in her determination not to let the current situation pass unchallenged. C’thlyanu inquired about her concern, prompting Rak’hael to cast a pointed glance towards Lamina.

"My concern pertains to her involvement," Rak’hael stated, her voice cutting through the room. "How can we permit a subordinate of a Dead Apostle to arbitrate the actions of that very Dead Apostle? Is there not an inherent bias in her judgment? We cannot deceive ourselves; we are all aware of the profound loyalty a subordinate owes their Apostle. Such devotion ensures unwavering obedience and complete veneration. It is abundantly clear where Lamina's vote will lie. If one council member's judgment is already compromised, this entire deliberation becomes a mockery."

As Rak’hael's accusation hung in the air, the tension in the chamber grew palpably thicker. Her sharp gaze bore into Lamina and Jason, radiating palpable animosity. Meanwhile, from the onlookers' area, Jason offered a calm hum, settling back into his seat.
