The Council of Nine and One convenes to discuss Jason's fate and the future of the Machina race. While awaiting the trial, two Machina survivors, Sexes and Varon, endure hushed whispers and pity from other races regarding their people's near-annihilation. Varon reflects on an unexpected act of mercy from Jason's dragon during the massacre, which spared the Machina children. As the meeting progresses, Varon senses intense killing intent directed at him, identifying a group of prideful Bengari warriors, known for their animosity towards the Machina.

Among the Bengari women, one individual’s unwavering hostility towards Varon was unmistakable, prompting him to deliberately avoid her gaze! She was the most striking of the assembled women, adorned with a golden chest plate and a gold-plated black skirt at her waist. A sword graced her hip, and behind her were a long spear and a shield. Silver bands adorned her head and hands, each intricately designed with a falcon emblem, signifying her leadership among the warriors present. This formidable woman was known as Diane, the Queen of the Bengari and the strongest warrior of her race! Varon closed his eyes and exhaled slowly, attempting to compose himself as he felt Diane’s persistent stare. He was determined not to fall for her blatant provocation! Diane was precisely the person Varon wished to avoid entanglement with! As the most powerful member of the Bengari, Diane would have claimed the title of Overlord had Rubik not been bestowed it. Even during the tumultuous Period of Lawlessness, no Machina failed to sense the profound hatred and animosity emanating from Diane towards their race after the title was awarded to Rubik.

However, with the Machina now deprived of their Overlord’s support and their once-great world relegated to history, they could no longer afford to overlook the overt hostility from the Bengari! Varon felt an oppressive sensation, almost suffocating, under the intensity of Diane’s focused stare! The only solace in that moment was the fact that their current location was a neutral zone, a small mercy for which Varon was profoundly grateful!

’Once this trial concludes, we must make haste to return home. I cannot risk encountering Diane outside this Neutral Zone.’

Varon mentally affirmed his decision, still acutely aware of Diane’s piercing gaze upon him. He understood it was only a matter of time before Diane approached them for a confrontation. If that occurred, he resolved to swiftly depart with Sexes to prevent any conflict! Despite being within a neutral zone, Varon couldn't shake the feeling of being in enemy territory, simply by being in the company of these individuals. While the Machina had ruled the Sixth domain for centuries, this dominance had not fostered many alliances! The Machina had maintained a secretive, secluded, and often antagonistic stance towards many surrounding worlds, cultivating a multitude of enemies throughout the Primordial Expanse who either scorned them or harbored outright hatred. Now, having suffered such a devastating setback, the Machina found themselves utterly bereft of any potential allies! Varon knew, perhaps better than anyone, that the Machina stood truly alone! His contemplation was abruptly interrupted as the grand doors of the Trial Hall swung open, instantly filling the space with a wave of hushed whispers.

"That’s him! The Immortal King."

"He’s arrived! Can you sense that power!? He must be a TITAN Rank III at the very least! In fact, I believe he’s practically PRIMORDIAL!"

"I heard he commanded an entire legion of TITAN Rank monsters!"

"Do you think they'llSentence him to prison?"

"No way, can you truly imagine them imprisoning a TITAN Rank III? And besides, haven't you heard the truth about what transpired in Machina?"

"They say the Blood Angel of the Battlefield, Gillian, was the true orchestrator of the attacks. If you ask me, I suspect the Immortal King will walk free."

"Impossible, I believe he is headed for prison."

"Care to make a wager? I have a thousand gold coins right here that says Jason walks free."

"Very well, I accept your bet."

Positioned at the entrance of the Hall of Heroes, Jason’s calm gaze deliberately surveyed the assembly. The hall was populated by a diverse array of interworld beings, many of whom Jason recognized from his travels across the Primordial Expanse! These creatures conversed in hushed tones, regarding Jason with the intense curiosity usually reserved for a rare spectacle. He, however, paid them no mind as he proceeded into the hall, accompanied by Gina and Riyala. On one side of the hall, Jason observed the warrior women of the Bengari watching him with narrowed eyes, his attention eventually settling on Diane.

’She must be their leader. Her strength is considerable. Perhaps around the low-level TITAN Rank III tier. The guards flanking her are also TITAN Rank I. Impressive.’

Jason's gaze sharpened as he took in Diane's power level. A mere glance was enough for him to discern her inherently stubborn nature and her accustomed position of authority. While Jason had grown accustomed to Hesabeth's haughty demeanor, accepting it as an intrinsic part of her personality, Diane exuded a distinctly more aggressive aura. Hesabeth might have first attempted persuasion before resorting to threats, but Diane appeared to be the type to immediately employ force to achieve her objectives! Diane was flanked by three other formidable Bengari warrior women, occupying a significant portion of the hall as if to claim it. They glared menacingly at anyone who dared approach. Diane's eyes met Jason's, burning with intensity, and he could feel her power assessing him, much as he had assessed hers. Undeterred by Diane's intimidating posture, Jason casually averted his gaze, feigning disinterest, and turned his attention to the two individuals seated a short distance from the Bengari contingent.

Sexes and Varon, the two Machina survivors present for the hearing, regarded Jason with looks as if he were the very devil. Jason couldn't fault their palpable hostility. He then addressed Riyala, instructing her to take a seat with her guards. Riyala acknowledged him with a nod and a smile. Jason grinned, leaning down to kiss her. Riyala, reaching onto her tiptoes, deepened the kiss for a few more moments before finally pulling away. She shared a hug with Gina, then waved goodbye as she departed with Talum, Gruwen, and Stella. With Riyala gone, Jason and Gina proceeded towards the main stage. The onlookers, previously milling about, quickly parted to allow Jason passage. However, as Jason passed the two Machina observing the trial, the atmosphere grew markedly more tense, their agitation palpable. Jason paused, glancing to his right at the Machina. Sexes immediately erupted in an enraged roar, leaping to his feet!

"You murderer!"

Sexes drew back his fist, poised to strike Jason, but Varon swiftly intervened, grabbing his comrade before the situation could escalate. "Let go of me, Varon! I cannot bear it! How dare he look at us after all that he has done! I will kill this murderer!"
