Strongest Necromancer System Chapter 777: A Plan of Action

When Gina first began her relationship with Jason, she never imagined she'd welcome another woman into it. She'd been doubtful from the start when Riyala sought her approval, convinced it was bound to fail. Yet, against all odds, it succeeded, and Gina couldn't deny Jason's practice of involving her in selecting new women played a big part. Absolutely certain she reigned supreme in Jason's heart, she had no issue with others joining as long as that stayed true.
....
Across the castle, Jason's discussion with Farlow and T’arigan drew to a close. T’arigan informed him a council session tomorrow would review his Machina exploits and determine any penalty for his deeds. Jason had no wish for punishment over the Machina Massacre, clearly not himself at the time, but T’arigan explained a vote was required to accept his explanation. Still, little cause for alarm—only Rak’hael on the council pushed for it, so odds favored no repercussions! Meeting wrapped, T’arigan took his leave and disconnected.
Jason activated his [Eye of the King] once more to peer at his Earth family, a surge of homesickness overwhelming him. Slumping back in his chair, he covered his face with a hand and heaved a heavy sigh! This was utter bullshit! Three months plus away from home, no words with his mother or sisters! Now, mere moments from reunion, the damned council stirred up trouble again! Part of him yearned to dismiss them, tell them to screw off, and rush back! But he realized that'd mean shirking duty. Rules served a purpose; despite his disdain, they safeguarded his family and world from surrounding mighty realms. He needed to comply—to a degree—to avoid chaos!
"I can understand your frustration, but I assure you that tomorrow’s meeting with the council will be little more than a formality. We will not be arresting you, and you will return to your world afterwards. I promise you that on my honor."
Spotting the exhaustion on Jason’s face, Farlow spoke from the table’s head! He grasped Jason’s irritation perfectly, aware Jason held power to defy the council if desired! Jason endured this political farce for the same motive Hesbaeth accepted her penalties despite her strength to ignore all! Both comprehended their obligation to maintain law despite personal sentiments! Refusal would render law pointless!
Jason faced Farlow, catching the fierce seriousness in the Elven King’s gaze. Holding no grudge against him specifically, Jason sighed steadily, rose, nodded, and declared:
"Thank you for setting up this meeting, Farlow. And also, thank you for saving Gina’s life during Hesbaeth’s rampage earlier. My father told me a long time ago that you’re a bit difficult to get along with, but he also said that you’re a very dependable person, and I now know he was definitely right about you."
A subtle smile on his lips, Farlow had risen as Jason voiced gratitude for the aid, poised to brush it off since Jason’s kin had assisted him too. But Richard’s comment sparked an eye twitch of vexation, silently cursing the fool! Jason spotted the pique instantly, chuckling lightly before clasping Farlow’s hand in thanks and exiting the chamber. Farlow queried his next stop, and Jason replied he had to locate Gina.
After Jason departed, Farlow's thoughts wandered back through the ages, to a time well before the Period of Lawlessness. It was when Richard and Farlow were young boys, linked solely because Richard’s father wed Farlow’s aunt. Both princes and heirs to the throne, they swiftly became inseparable friends, chatting about the grand transformations they’d bring to the world as adults. Back then, neither realized the Primordial Expanse would plunge into a war lasting centuries, and in their youthful innocence, they devised schemes assuming peace would endure forever! The burdens of conflict tore the companions apart, barring reunions for years, yet centuries after the war’s close, Farlow remained deeply entangled with the Marc family! Right then, Farlow grasped he’d never break free from them, but honestly, he didn’t object. He understood far worse folks could serve as patrons! Collapsing into his chair, Farlow leaned back with a heavy sigh, gazing at the enormous magic stone that bathed the room in light, and pondered his buddy’s possible location. Farlow was convinced Richard hadn’t perished. Scant few in the Primordial Expanse could slay such a man, and with Richard’s legendary survival skills, he surely lived on. Yet despite dispatching countless spies over the years, Farlow had uncovered zero clues to Richard’s hiding spot.
’You’ve got one hell of a son here, Richard. A good kid with the strength to back up his bravado. I know you would’ve loved to watch him grow up. But you don’t have to worry, my friend. As long as I’m alive, I’ll do my best to take care of your family until you get back. After all, I know you would do the same thing for me.’
Beyond the meeting room, Jason nodded to the guards stationed at the door as they bowed to him, then strode down the hallway toward the mana signatures of Gina and Hesabeth. He briefly puzzled over why the women had ventured so distant for their chat, but that thought faded quickly as his mind turned to tomorrow’s duties. Heading to the Stone Catacombs before returning home meant Jason needed a solid plan.
