Farlow instructs Gina to meditate alone at the Lake of Remembrance, urging her to clear her mind of worldly ties to connect with the wind and achieve Sage enlightenment, before leaving her to the task. Overwhelmed but determined, Gina attempts to meditate by a tree, only to fall asleep in the serene surroundings. Meanwhile, Jason awakens in an unknown luxurious white room with a pounding headache, Esdeath's voice echoing in his mind, and discovers he is shirtless in a grand bed beside a sleeping woman.

Queen Hesabeth appeared more at ease than Jason had ever witnessed before! Her standard royal garments and gleaming accessories had vanished, substituted by a delicate silk nightgown that hid scarcely anything. With a deep neckline splitting down the center, the gown barely skimmed her upper thighs, baring her generous cleavage and sleek pale legs for Jason to behold. Her flowing locks tumbled freely, draping around her like a stream of scarlet that highlighted her lovely visage. Jason squinted in puzzlement, questioning his whereabouts and how they had brought him here without his awareness.

'Hold on... I blacked out, right? Yes, I was soothing Hesabeth, but then my energy drained completely, and I collapsed. Ha, how long since I last felt such fatigue? I must have been utterly drained.'

Jason released a soft exhale while combing his fingers through his hair, then he peered sideways once more at the slumbering Hesabeth. Though he grasped that Hesabeth had relocated him to this spot for recovery, he struggled to comprehend why she shared the bed with him. Their bond had forever been intricate, yet at present, Jason doubted Hesabeth desired even his company in the same space, given his slaying of Gillian.

"Mmmhm."

A soft murmur escaped Hesabeth as her eyelids fluttered open, and Jason observed steadily as her golden eyes finally revealed themselves. Hesabeth's gaze lifted to connect with Jason's inquisitive stare, and to his astonishment, her mouth curved into a broad, captivating grin.

"You’re finally awake. I was afraid you would sleep for even longer."

Hesabeth gradually lifted herself from her reclined pose, and Jason found his sight drifting downward to her chest as it swayed freely within the gown. Lacking any undergarments, Hesabeth prompted Jason to furrow his brow even more, pondering the nature of her scheme.

"Where am I?"

Jason posed this initial query, prompting Hesabeth to puff out a breath while she swept her fingers through her lengthy crimson tresses. Her plump crimson lips parted into yet another enchanting smile as she replied in an enigmatic tone.

"You’re in the only place you’ll be safe. A special place that I purchased especially for your maximum comfort."

Jason let out a low growl.

"Hesabeth, don’t fucking play with me. Where the fuck am I?"

On this occasion, Jason delivered his words with grave intensity, and Hesabeth noted his patience already fraying. She exhaled in annoyance at Jason's bluntness. Wasn't it obvious for a man to relish sharing a chamber with a beauty like her? The exact location seemed irrelevant. Hesabeth was essentially presenting herself to Jason, exposing her in such a defenseless manner, yet his sole concern was their position! A wave of frustration welled up within Hesabeth, though she strove to suppress it as she responded.

"You’re in an Anti-mana containment room. Hmph, don’t look so surprised, and let me explain. You see, I know more about your abilities than you do. The Blood Oath that Gillian gave you wasn’t just some promise that allowed you to take her place on the Court of Dead Apostles. It was a life-altering Geass that takes time to fully integrate into your being. After taking a Blood Oath, all Vympir must isolate themselves from the outside world for at least one week in order to fully integrate their magic, and if they don’t do that, then their Changeling alter ego will resurface, force a Blood Metamorphosis, and the Blood Oath will drive them mad. You could feel it too, right? The desire of that Alter ego to resurface was especially strong inside you, and if not for my quick action, you would have lost your mind."

Hesabeth beamed toward Jason, who scowled upon recognizing her accuracy. During the bite from Gillian, an Alter Ego had emerged in the form of the Changeling. This Alter Ego embodied Jason’s savage instincts that seized his form, and despite regaining dominance, Jason sensed the Alter Ego battering at his mind, striving to escape. Following the Blood Oath acquisition, the Changeling Alter Ego intensified, and Jason understood he’d need to address it sooner or later. Delving into Gillian’s recollections for details on Blood Oath or Metamorphosis proved swift, and soon Jason uncovered the relevant information. Reviewing it all, he confirmed Hesabeth's correctness.

The isolation phase post-Blood Oath served to properly fuse Jason’s true form with his Alter Ego, ensuring Jason retained command and preventing constant attempts by the Alter Ego to emerge. In reality, Jason viewed this as beneficial. He recalled vividly how the Alter Ego had assaulted Gina and Stella, vowing never to permit such an incident again. Yet, Hesabeth's presence alongside him remained peculiar.

"Aren’t Blood Oath Isolations meant to be done in isolation. What the hell are you doing here?"

Hesabeth flashed a sly smile.

"Oh, there is no law saying it has to be done in isolation. It only says that you must remove yourself from the magic of the world for some time and remain in isolation. Since I came in here with you before you began your isolation, I won’t pose any danger to your Metamorphosis. Oh, no need to look so distrustful. You’ll hurt my feelings. I mean, after everything that I’ve done to make sure you’re well taken care of. After all the resources I poured into you and the effort I took to make sure the Council doesn’t breathe down our necks, I don’t even get a thank you?"

Hesabeth adjusted her position on the mattress and slinked ahead like a feline toward Jason. Placing her palm on his leg, she inclined toward his countenance with evident yearning in her eyes, her tone emerging as a husky murmur.

"Aren’t you going to thank me, Jason?"

An overwhelming charm enveloped Hesabeth then, sufficient to ensnare any man's affections entirely. Even absent her Primordial Bias, she ranked among the world's most alluring females due to her commanding demeanor and matchless attractiveness, drawing suitors who sought her favor via tenderness or coercion. Yet Hesabeth rejected them all, discerning their sway from her bias, barring genuine connection. But gazing into Jason’s eyes now, a shiver of excitement coursed through her upon seeing his direct, unaffected return—void of manipulation or illusion. Jason shared this space with her, perceiving her authentic self.

A floral aroma surrounded Hesabeth, enhancing her refined traits ideally, and her approach on all fours offered Jason an unobstructed glimpse into her silken attire and the cleft of her bosom. No individual could resist a surge of desire for Hesabeth in that instant, and Jason proved no exception. He acknowledged her immense appeal, yet lust alone wouldn't sway him. Disregarding Hesabeth's provocative display, Jason posed a crucial inquiry.

"Where’s Gina?"

Hesabeth's expression twisted into a scowl the moment she heard that query.
