In the Marc Diner, seventeen-year-old Jason Marc handles a group of rowdy boys disrupting the customers, escorting them outside for a stern warning that sends them fleeing. Assisting his single mother Mira with orders, Jason brushes off her concern over his forceful methods and avoids discussion of his absent father, who vanished ten years ago, leaving them to struggle financially with his younger sister Maya. As business remains slow, the television news interrupts with reports of a new Red Gate opening in Los Angeles, evoking memories of the world's upheaval by these portals that unleash monsters, countered only by gifted Superhumans.

The Green gate sealed by the Five Rulers stood out as the most supreme Gate capable of manifesting anywhere on Earth.

Danger levels dictated the colors assigned to Gates, beginning with the mildest Red Gate, advancing through Orange and Yellow, and peaking with the intense Green Gate. Speculation abounded about even more powerful Gates surpassing Green, yet since no one had laid eyes on such a thing, the entire human race settled on Green as the ultimate tier.

Following the exploits of the Five Rulers, superhumans proliferated across the globe. Experts theorized that the abrupt surge of mana from the Gates triggered these human enhancements, though the phenomenon remained utterly inexplicable due to its abrupt onset.

Individuals who acquired Gifts manifested various powers. Certain ones harnessed fire for offensive strikes, while others manipulated items telekinetically or mended injuries in an instant.

Yet as superhumans multiplied, their powers condensed into five primary classifications.

Brawlers - Superhumans featuring physical enhancements or bodily upgrades.

Emitters - Superhumans wielding elemental assaults or mana projections.

Supporters - Superhumans capable of amplifying or diminishing the prowess of allies.

Healers - Superhumans skilled in restoring injuries.

Special

- Superhumans whose powers defied fitting into the remaining four groups.

Every power worldwide fitted neatly into one of these five groups, prompting governments to establish registration for all ability holders, enforcing rigorous guidelines to prevent power abuse.

Gifts and Gates transformed the world at breakneck speed.

Superhumans discovered that battling and vanquishing Gate monsters was the sole path to gaining strength. Slaying these beasts provided power surges tied to one's innate potential, enabling limits to be shattered and further empowerment through repeated kills.

Monsters also yielded Drops upon defeat. Gate dwellers invariably dropped Magic Crystals alongside rarer enchanted goods. These crystals held the creature's mana core, serving as fuel for energy production or to empower gear designed for superhumans.

Creature corpses proved invaluable for forging weapons and mystical tools, such as enchanted staves or restorative potions.

The dense mana and energy extracted from these crystals turned them into a coveted resource among people, sparking massive payouts for Gate raiders and launching a fresh age of Gate exploration.

The Five Rulers founded their personal guilds, etching their names into mythic status as the globe's top five guilds. Soon, countless superhumans followed suit, forming guilds to enlist others and tackle Gates collectively.

Guilds obtained official government licenses for operation, becoming the exclusive legal avenue for superhumans to access Gates and solidifying their role as the bedrock of this transformed society.

Just like superhumans, guilds ranked from the lowest F Rank up to the elite S Rank, dominating the hierarchy.

In America at present, over twenty guilds vied for control and Gate access rights simultaneously. Among them, three reigned as the pinnacle organizations.

These included the A Rank Green Hornet Guild, the B Rank Snow Storm Guild, and the formidable S Rank BloodRaven Guild.

With the BloodRaven Guild commanded by a Five Ruler—the world's premier Supporter, a renowned woman—they held unchallenged supremacy in America.

Jason paid little heed to superhumans or their exploits. While the masses idolized them as valiant saviors braving death for the greater good, Jason viewed them differently. To him, their pursuits boiled down purely to the immense fortunes they reaped.

Superhuman status now commanded the planet's loftiest salaries, with top earners pocketing hundreds of millions monthly. The staggering prices folks shelled out for Magic Crystals were downright staggering.

The TV news displayed C Rank Black Falcon Guild members disembarking from a massive truck. It halted roadside as police and military forces strained to barricade civilians and reporters, ensuring they stayed clear of the superhumans' path.

"Red Lightning! Red Lightning! Got a moment for some questions? Spare a word for the folks tuned in at home!"

"Red Lightning! Your guild's tackling its fifth Red Gate this year! Any comments on that milestone!?"

"Will your guild ever take on an Orange Gate!? You reckon you'll ever pack enough punch for it!?"

"Any response to those drawing parallels with Black Bolt!? He's hit A Rank already, while you're lingering at B Rank!"

Leading the superhumans was a figure draped in a flowing black cape enveloping his form entirely, and upon facing the camera, Jason stifled a laugh at the heavy black eyeliner rimming the man's eyes.

'What, does he fancy himself Batman or some nonsense?'

The guy clearly aimed for a brooding, enigmatic vibe, but that makeup just struck Jason as utterly ridiculous.

Mira let out a chuckle too, passing the fries and burger to their waiting customer.

Mira recognized Jason's disinterest in superhumans and avoided the topic in chats, knowing he'd brush it off anyway.

To Jason, superhumans didn't cover his expenses, so why waste energy on them?

Ding!

The diner door chimed upon swinging open, followed by an exuberant voice belting out.

"I'm baaaack~!"

Jason let out a groan, while Mira responded with enthusiastic warmth.

"Gina! Great to see you once more!"

Entering was a stunning young woman boasting flowing red locks and vivid green eyes. Her curves were striking, with ample chest and flared hips drawing any guy's gaze. She sported snug jeans paired with a black tee emblazoned 'Bhad Barbie' across the chest.

She went by Gina Fey, Jason's longtime pal and a C Rank Emitter superhuman affiliated with a minor guild nationwide.

Gina beamed at Mira's welcome, darting over for a soft embrace.

"So wonderful to reunite with you, Mira. Picked up a new lotion or what? You appear a decade fresher!"

Gina scanned Mira with lively interest, and Mira touched her face, chuckling.

"Oh, stop ribbing an aging lady like myself. If anyone's deserving praise, it's you—your complexion glows so radiantly. Another bonus of superhuman life?"

Gina posed playfully, flashing a 'V' with her fingers and a dazzling grin.

"What can I say? I'm just blessed with innate beauty."

"More like innately aggravating. What brings you here? Shouldn't you be on the job? Or did they boot you for that grating voice of yours?"

Jason cut in from nearby, prompting a vein to throb on Gina's forehead as she charged and locked him in a headlock.

"Who do you think you're sassing, punk!? You're fortunate you're my buddy, or I'd deliver a proper thrashing!"

"Hey, cut it out! Your oversized chest is smothering me, you ape!?"

Jason seized Gina's arm, straining to loosen it from his throat, but her superhuman might rendered it immovable. As a C Rank, Gina could effortlessly dominate dozens of adult males through raw force alone! Jason realized she'd break his neck effortlessly if she wished.

Gina clenched tighter, drawing a grunt from Jason amid rising discomfort, yet the plush press of her bosom against his cheek suddenly made it bearable.

Perishing from breast asphyxiation? Seemed a decent exit!

"Apologize or I won't release you!"

Gina snapped at Jason in frustration, and he weighed yielding versus embracing the end via her assets! Ultimately, preserving his virginity won out, so he patted her hand submissively.

"Alright, sorry. Release me already!"

Gina giggled at Jason prior to freeing him, flashing a triumphant smirk. Jason rubbed his aching neck, shooting Gina a weary glare. This beast would end him one day.

Gina outaged Jason by two years, hitting twenty. Unlike him, she skipped completing high school.

Upon discovering her superhuman gift, she quit school right away and enlisted in a national guild.
