Tian Xingyun confronts Huo Shaohua about their one-night stand, revealing she is pregnant. Huo Shaohua, convinced she seduced him and is after his wealth, furiously questions the paternity of the child and throws a DNA test at her. Tian Xingyun slaps him in anger, and his grandmother intervenes to protect Tian Xingyun and her unborn grandchild.

There was no man in this world she would consent to sleep with, with the sole exception being Huo Shaohua.

He was the sworn enemy of their village; how could she possibly have any dealings with him.

"Is that so? Then tell me, where did the child currently growing inside you originate from?" Huo Shaohua sneered, his voice dripping with derision.

"It is most certainly not yours," Tian Xingyun declared, finishing her statement before turning to depart.

She had no desire to linger in his presence for even another moment.

"You cannot leave!" The grandmother, in a state of panic, rushed forward to obstruct Tian Xingyun's exit, refusing to allow her to go.

She was absolutely determined not to let Tian Xingyun depart. If she did, her cherished great-grandchild's future would be in peril.

Based on the heated exchange that had just transpired between them, it was evident there was a significant misunderstanding.

She could not permit Tian Xingyun to leave, fearing she might go to the hospital and decide to terminate the pregnancy.

"Grandmother, I implore you, please let me pass," Tian Xingyun implored, halting her steps and addressing the elder with courtesy.

While she harbored deep resentment towards Huo Shaohua, her feelings towards his grandmother were not the same.

"You absolutely cannot leave! You are carrying a child belonging to our Huo family within you."

"It does not belong to your family," Tian Xingyun retorted.

"But it does belong to our family."

"Grandmother, permit her to depart. Let's observe what other stratagems she might employ," Huo Shaohua stated icily, stepping forward to gently guide his grandmother aside.

He was firmly convinced that Tian Xingyun was an exceptionally cunning woman. Her arrival at the Huo residence was not by chance, and she would not depart so readily.

She was undoubtedly employing the tactic of playing hard to get.

Tian Xingyun's anger intensified. She spun around and headed for the door without a backward glance.

Why should she remain here to endure that man's barbed remarks?

"Oh, my precious great-grandchild..." the grandmother cried out, tears streaming down her face as she closed her eyes and dramatically fainted.

"Grandmother!"

"Madam!"

...Tian Xingyun stood completely frozen, her body rigid, afraid to make any movement.

She hadn't even laid a hand on the grandmother; how could she have suddenly collapsed?

Huo Shaohua carefully lifted his grandmother and began to carry her inside.

After taking a few steps, he paused, turned back, and issued an instruction to Housekeeper Liu: "Uncle Liu, keep a close watch on her. Ensure she does not leave the Huo family estate."

Casting a sharp, pointed glance at Tian Xingyun, he then continued into the house with his grandmother.

"Yes, Young Master," Housekeeper Liu immediately responded, directing the household servants to maintain a vigilant watch over Tian Xingyun.

An hour elapsed.

Tian Xingyun remained seated in the living room, her state of mind profoundly unsettled.

She had no information regarding the grandmother's condition.

Every entrance to the living room was manned by servants of the Huo family, leaving her entirely unable to move.

Her only recourse was to sit there, feeling helpless, awaiting any news.

Another thirty minutes trickled by before Huo Shaohua finally made his appearance.

However, his countenance was grim, and an aura of palpable anger emanated from him.

No one dared to venture near him.

"How is Grandmother?" Tian Xingyun asked, rising to her feet with evident concern.

"Grandmother? You address her quite familiarly," Huo Shaohua remarked, curving his lips into a semblance of a smile as he offered an unrelated observation.

His tone was laced with mockery, and his gaze was filled with unbridled hostility.

"If there is no further issue, may I be permitted to leave now?" Tian Xingyun inquired, her brow furrowed. Judging by his expression, the grandmother was likely not in critical condition.

"All of you, withdraw," Huo Shaohua commanded the servants standing nearby.

Upon hearing his order, the servants promptly departed, leaving only him and Tian Xingyun in the spacious room.

He advanced towards Tian Xingyun with unhurried steps, approaching her slowly.

Looking down at her, he subjected her to an intense scrutiny: "State your true intentions."

"I fail to comprehend the nature of your inquiry," Tian Xingyun replied, standing and moving a few steps away to create physical distance between them.

Being subjected to his steely gaze left her feeling overwhelmed, to the point where she struggled to draw a full breath.

"Were these photographs not taken by you?" Huo Shaohua demanded, forcefully thrusting the assortment of photographs he held towards Tian Xingyun's face.

He had mistakenly believed that being found in his bed would represent the lowest point of this woman's character.

But he was profoundly mistaken; this woman was far more deplorable than his imagination had allowed.

"How could I possibly have taken them!" Tian Xingyun vehemently denied, defending herself with genuine distress.

She considered herself to be a victim in this situation; how could she possibly orchestrate such photos and implicate herself so deeply.

"Are you certain it wasn't you?" Huo Shaohua narrowed his eyes, his intense gaze fixated upon her.
