Tianxin's father brutally beats her for refusing to break up with Ziyang, her boyfriend. Despite her father's anger and the family's traditions, Tianxin remains defiant. Ziyang arrives to comfort her, only to be violently kicked away by Tianxin's father, who accuses him of deceiving his daughter.

With a vicious kick to Ziyang’s abdomen, he was sent staggering back several steps before regaining his balance.

"Dad!" Tianxin struggled frantically, tears streaming down her face as she looked at Ziyang with immense worry. "Brother Ziyang, you should leave quickly!"

If he didn’t escape now, her father might beat him to death; she couldn't bear to witness such a brutal beating!

Turning to her father, her voice raw, she screamed, "Dad, don't hit Brother Ziyang! I was the one who clung to him; I was the one who wanted to be with him! It has nothing to do with him!"

"Shut up!"

"Master, please let Tianxin go. I am willing to accept any punishment you mete out! Just don’t hit her again!" Ziyang gritted his teeth, pain radiating from his abdomen and shoulder, causing beads of sweat to materialize on his forehead.

"You'll accept anything?!" Huo Shaohua sneered.

"Yes!" Ziyang affirmed.

Without another word, Huo Shaohua raised his hand, hurling the heavy wooden stick directly at Ziyang!

"Brother Ziyang!" Tianxin shrieked in terror, her complexion turning ashen.

Ziyang made no move to dodge. The family rod connected with his head, instantly drawing blood.

The fallen wooden stick lay on the ground, still intact, emitting a faint sound.

"Let me go!" Tianxin thrashed with all her might, her desperate screams intensifying, tears clouding her vision.

She managed to break free from Huo Shaohua’s grasp, but after only two steps, she collapsed powerlessly to the floor.

Ziyang lunged forward to assist her, only to be intercepted by Huo Shaohua blocking his path.

Grabbing Ziyang’s shirt, Huo Shaohua coiled his fist and struck him squarely on the head, then savagely kicked him away.

Ziyang landed on the ground in a disheveled heap, more blood now flowing freely from his head.

Blood trickled from the corner of his mouth as he managed to push himself up from the ground.

"Come here!" Huo Shaohua bellowed.

Promptly, two bodyguards clad in black emerged, positioning themselves beside Huo Shaohua, awaiting his command.

"Escort the young miss back to her room and ensure she remains under close watch. She is not to leave without my explicit permission!"

"Yes!" The two bodyguards complied, helping the fallen Tianxin to her feet and guiding her towards the door.

"Let me go!" Tianxin cried out in utter despair, twisting her head to cast a final glance at the bleeding Ziyang.

She fought against their hold, unwilling to be separated; she desperately wanted to remain by Brother Ziyang’s side.

Ziyang, however, subtly shook his head at her, his lips forming silent words: "I’m fine."

"I don’t want to..." Tianxin protested, her words struggling to break through her distress, but before she could finish, darkness enveloped her, and she fainted.

A terrifying dream afflicted her, a vision where her father vehemently forbade her from seeing Brother Ziyang.

He would force them apart, ensuring she could never lay eyes on Brother Ziyang again.

She couldn't bear the thought of not seeing Brother Ziyang—No!

Then, she dreamt again that Brother Ziyang no longer desired her, that he was even marrying another woman...

She frantically tried to stop his wedding, but he didn’t even seem to recognize her.

He had no idea who she was at all...

No matter how she pleaded, how she tried to explain, he wouldn't remember; he was determined to marry someone else and abandon her...

"No!" Tianxin jolted awake, gasping for air as she drew ragged breaths.

Her chest heaved unevenly with her panicked breaths, tears glistening at the corners of her eyes, a lingering fear still evident in her gaze.

A few moments later, she sat up abruptly and flung off the covers, her immediate intention to rise and find Ziyang.

The instant she threw back the blankets, a sharp, stinging pain shot through the back of her hand, instantly jolting her back to a semblance of clarity.

She ceased her movement, her eyes scanning the room, and a realization dawned: she was still in her own chamber.

Her gaze fell upon the IV drip bag; without a second thought, she yanked the needle from the back of her hand.

As soon as the needle was removed, blood began to well up, but she paid it no mind, pushing aside the covers to swing her legs out of bed.

The moment her feet touched the cold floor, an overwhelming surge of pain sent her tumbling down, collapsing onto the floor in a tearful heap.

The door creaked open, and Ping entered, quickly setting down the items she carried on the coffee table as she noticed Tianxin’s fall.

She hurried to Tianxin’s side, her voice laced with concern, asking, "Miss, are you alright?"

"Where is Brother Ziyang? How is he doing?" Tianxin inquired, clutching Ping’s hand tightly, her heart consumed by worry for Brother Ziyang's well-being.

The scenes from her dream felt terrifyingly real...

Could it genuinely be that Brother Ziyang no longer wanted her anymore...
