Light Bulb and Ming Xing successfully deployed a tracking device, which was then seized by Guan Zhengyang's Special Action Team. The team entered a hidden space but soon lost communication. Guan Zhengyang requested support as a strange spherical object attacked, eventually swallowing his head before spitting him out and counterattacking.

The team members quickly adapted to the street environment and found their combat rhythm. Two Wanderers took advantage of their speed, shooting from the eight o'clock and four o'clock directions of the spherical entity, using bullets powerful enough to penetrate the entity's thick shell.

The thought process of the spherical entity was simple: if attacked, retaliate. It lunged at the attacker in the four o'clock direction, while other team members targeted its attack path and exploded it with a rocket launcher.

Throughout the process, Li Banfeng was observing from the sidelines, and not a single member of the Dark Star Bureau took action.

Emergency personnel arrived on the scene and transported Guan Zhengyang to the ambulance.

It must be admitted, Director Guan is truly lucky; last time, he was abducted by the Birch Tree Hermit Society and survived with just the loss of an ear. This time, his head was gnawed by an unknown creature, yet he still survived.

But this time, the situation was far more severe. Guan Zhengyang lost both ears, his nose, and most of his facial skin, though a tuft of hair remained, hanging to the right on his head.

Deputy Director Wang was in tears: "Director Guan, say something..."

Seeing Deputy Director Wang's genuine emotion, Li Banfeng assigned him to care for Guan Zhengyang alone.

Just him alone, no other member from the Dark Star Bureau was allowed to go.

The Special Action Team now lacked a leader, and the captain didn't know whom to report to. He considered calling his superiors directly but feared he might say something inappropriate.

If he kept quiet, he couldn't bear the responsibility. While hesitating, Li Banfeng approached him with a smile and said: "Tell me the specifics of what's inside."

The captain looked around: "Our action team is not under the Dark Star Bureau's jurisdiction..."

"Don't want to talk?" Li Banfeng's smile carried a hint of chill, and the Cultivator Above the Clouds' imposing aura made the captain shiver.

Having just survived a fierce battle, with most of the team sacrificed and the leader seriously injured, the captain's mental defenses crumbled under the pressure.

He reported the battle situation to Li Banfeng.

"After the Special Action Team entered the vector channel, we strictly followed the operational plan. Fifteen team members initially explored the interior of the Hidden Form Space, confirming no anomalies in the space, and then gradually arranged other members to enter the Hidden Form Space."

"No anomalies mean?"

"There was nothing in the space, within the visible and detectable range, we found no life forms."

Clearly, they hadn't entered Gourd Village.

Li Banfeng asked: "So you let all the team members enter the Hidden Form Space?"

"I didn't; I left fifteen team members at the vector channel exit to maintain communication, but they were the first to be attacked."

According to the captain's description, the spherical life form appeared in the vector channel, not the Hidden Form Space, because the team members responsible for communication were attacked first, disrupting communication at the time.

Li Banfeng believed the captain wouldn't lie, but his explanation had serious issues.

"The vector channel was constructed by our Tracking Device, how could there be spherical creatures there?"

The captain couldn't provide a reasonable explanation, so Li Banfeng asked him to continue detailing the battle.

The attack on the channel cut off the team members' retreat, leaving the captain only able to lead the members back from within the Hidden Form Space, competing with the spherical creatures for the vector channel.

According to the captain's estimation, the number of spherical creatures ranged from thirty to fifty, giving them strong combat advantages within the narrow channel, because the fighting could only occur in one direction, forcing team members to face their bites directly, resulting in numerous casualties.

Li Banfeng imagined the vector channel as an ordinary tunnel but still failed to understand this process: "When you entered, you didn't encounter spherical creatures; why did these creatures suddenly appear in the channel later?"

The captain couldn't explain as he had already entered the Hidden Form Space when the spherical creatures appeared and wasn't present onsite.

One team member responsible for communication survived, describing the process at the time.

"Those monsters drilled out from the walls; they could enter the walls and move within them. Our communication equipment was the first to be attacked..." This team member tried to clearly depict the entire battle process with drawings.

A group of monsters that could hide in walls, move, and attack, showed astonishing adaptability to the channel, making Li Banfeng eager to see the actual battlefield scene.

"Didn't you bring any unmanned equipment?"

"We had a few drones, but none were brought out; these drones played a critical role in the final phase of the defensive battle."

There were things the captain couldn't mention, considering many team members sacrificed.

Nonetheless, in terms of this battle's performance, drones outperformed the team members, their automatic target locking speed was much faster, and their likelihood of being hit by spherical entities was far lower.

"What about the video footage from the drones?"

Some team members hadn't entered the tunnel, responsible for coordinating with Guan Zhengyang's command: "Director Li, all onsite videos are stored in specialized equipment, accessible only with Director Guan's password."

Li Banfeng was speechless, as Guan Zhengyang excelled most in maintaining confidentiality.

Without seeing the video, there was no rush, since the matter would eventually fall onto the Dark Star Bureau's shoulders.

By afternoon, the superiors convened an emergency meeting, requesting Li Banfeng's attendance, but he lacked the desire, opting to send the video recorded by the projector to his superiors.
