He Jiaqing and Cui Tiq confront each other, each refusing to reveal the identity of their patron. He Jiaqing manages to snatch a wooden box belonging to Cui Tiq, which contains a mysterious token. After a tense exchange, He Jiaqing leaves. Cui Tiq then proceeds to gamble and, needing to borrow money, reveals a group of unsettling, featureless individuals as his companions, who are identified as practitioners of the Green Flower Technique.

"Don't casually mention the Ancestral Master's name, besides, this rash is my own creation." Cui Tiq waved his hand, and a dozen "friends" quickly rushed into the crowd.

Lu Xiqiang was just about to shout when two "friends" flanked him on either side, pinning him in the middle.

One person grabbed his hair, pinched his neck, and the other ripped open his belly, pulling out his intestines and internal organs.

Not long after, Lu Xiqiang collapsed to the ground, silent.

One by one, the people around fell, the Credit Cultivator was so terrified that his legs went weak, and he crawled out towards the door.

His hands crawled outside the door, his legs still inside, when someone suddenly grabbed his feet from behind.

The Credit Cultivator turned his head to see Lu Xiqiang, whose internal organs had just been gouged out, crawling to his feet, left hand clutching his left ankle, right hand gripping the back of his knee.

The Credit Cultivator kicked and struggled desperately, shaking off Lu Xiqiang behind him, stumbling out of the gambling den.

On the street, he saw Gambling Cultivators scattering in flight, and several hooded figures.

He saw someone trying to jump over the gambling den's wall, only to be dragged back one by one by the hooded figures.

The Credit Cultivator recklessly charged towards the gambling den's door, and he saw Cui Tiq at the entrance.

The Credit Cultivator bowed repeatedly: "Friend, the Thousand Tael House has nothing to do with me, I'm just here for business!"

Cui Tiq stepped aside and made way: "I believe you, you may leave."

The Credit Cultivator sprinted through the first entry of the gambling den, and after walking for about ten minutes, his face suddenly felt unbearably itchy.

He gently scratched, and the blisters on his face burst open, oozing orange-red fluid.

The fluid, as if alive, rapidly flowed across the Credit Cultivator's hand, from fingertips to the palm, from the palm to the arm, from the arm to his side...

The Credit Cultivator dared not scratch; he wanted to wipe the fluid off, but it was sticky and clung to him.

Screams of agony continued around him, and looking back, many hooded figures were dragging Poison Cultivators out of the surrounding courtyards.

The hooded figures ignored this Credit Cultivator; he too disregarded the fluid on his body, focusing only on running towards the main gate.

After running a few dozen meters, he fell to the ground.

Orange-red fluid seeped out from his shoes, and his numbed feet lost all sensation.

He wanted to stand but couldn't muster the strength in his hands.

He tried to shout, but his mouth overflowed with pus.

His vision gradually blurred as if an orange-red curtain hung before his eyes.

...

Li Banfeng handed the newspaper to Dou Jiyan: "The largest gambling den in Puluo State reopens; Ding Liusan is doing great. Looks like it's time for us to check out the Thousand Tael House."

"Brother Seven, I'll go with you." Dou Jiyan quickly packed up, ready to leave.

Li Banfeng stood up: "Don't go, you'd only be a burden, first tell me where your Contract Book is buried, I'll find a way to bring it back for you."

Dou Jiyan did not hide it; her Contract Book is buried in the hall of the largest gambling den.

Li Banfeng left overnight, arriving at the Thousand Tael House to find the gate open and the gatekeeper vanished.

Ding Liusan certainly runs a bold business, they don't even close at night.

A chill ran through him, Li Banfeng sensed danger.

Something happened at the Thousand Tael House.

Entering the gates, Li Banfeng caught a strange scent, an oily, bloody odor.

He walked along the main road for a while; he saw clusters of sticky orange-red substances on the ground.

Some of the sticky substances were still wriggling.

Are these... humans?

Li Banfeng carefully avoided the sticky substances and moved forward, passing through the First Square and arriving at the Eighth Square, where he saw several hooded figures silently standing by the roadside.

The Hundred Flavors Delicate Skill warned Li Banfeng; some smells, he would never forget.

Is this the Knife Labor Ghost?

The hooded figures maintained a human-like standing posture, showing no trace of the Knife Labor Ghost.

A hooded figure emerged from a courtyard by the street, walking with a stability unlike the all-fours gait of a Knife Labor Ghost.

Is this another breakthrough in technique?

Most importantly, how could Knife Labor Ghosts be at the Thousand Tael House, a place so far from Cheap Person Ridge?

Cui Tiq emerged from another courtyard, standing before Li Banfeng: "Friend, what a coincidence, you too have come. I read about your previous experiences in the newspaper. You witnessed their gambled contracts, I thought you'd never appear at the Thousand Tael House again."

Li Banfeng shook his head: "The one who made the bet was Dou Jiyan. I'm still quite interested in visiting the largest gambling den in Puluo State."

Cui Tiq nodded: "At first, I was curious too about what the largest gambling den in Puluo State was like. Having visited, I'm somewhat disappointed, but at least my task is progressing smoothly."

Li Banfeng glanced around: "This is your task?"

"Yes," Cui Tiq nodded, "My task is to ensure these Gambling Cultivators pose no threat to Puluo State, whether they're alive or dead."

"Who gave you this task?"

Cui Tiq pondered for a moment and said: "I shouldn't reveal his identity to anyone, but I think you might be an exception since you're a very good friend of his."

He took out a wooden box from his arms and handed it to Li Banfeng.

In Puluo State, not many dared to take things directly from Cui Tiq, and Li Banfeng was one of them.

He opened the box and took out a rattle drum.

Bang bang bang bang!
