Li Banfeng departs Sun Tiecheng's city after receiving warnings about potential dangers. Meanwhile, Mr. Kong Fang, having been transported to Greenwater City, meets with Mu Yuejuan and He Jiaqing. They propose a deal concerning medicine powder trade, hinting at Mr. Kong Fang's own objectives and his expiring bet with the 'peddler'.

He Jiaqing took out a jade bracelet from his sleeve and hung it on the compartment door handle, which was equivalent to setting up a Taoist spell array on the door:

"Senior, I've been researching the making of medicinal powder for some time. Red Lotus can only complete the first process, which is extracting the iron from the bamboo, and even without Red Lotus, I could still do it,

The real key to making the medicinal powder lies in the second process. This second process determines the nature and transformation of the powder. To understand the second process, we need to find a person."

As he spoke, He Jiaqing handed Mr. Kong Fang a photograph.

Mr. Kong Fang looked at the photo and said, "Is this a person from other provinces?"

He Jiaqing nodded: "A university professor from the outside provinces."

Mr. Kong Fang took another closer look: "I've seen this person before. He has had dealings with my subordinates."

He Jiaqing said: "If we can find this person, we can find the key step of the second process."

Mr. Kong Fang smiled again: "I'll wait until I find my subordinate to say more."

...

The rain poured down, Du Wenming walked through the wilderness for a whole day. He was a person from other provinces and hadn't been in Puluo State for too long, there were many places he was unfamiliar with, and this place in front of him was very strange to him.

In the distance, there seemed to be some buildings, and the exhausted Du Wenming quickened his pace. When he got near the buildings, he found it was an ancient residence.

Judging from the extent of the building's damage, this residence had been abandoned for years, yet the stone steps in front and the pathways inside the door were all swept clean.

Is there still someone living here?

Du Wenming entered the residence, knowing it was risky to do so, but he needed help. He at least needed to know what this place was and didn't want to be trapped on this barren land forever.

Upon entering the front yard, Du Wenming felt like many of the buildings here seemed familiar.

Had he been here before?

When he reached the first garden, Du Wenming recalled some special information.

Entering the main courtyard, Du Wenming finally remembered what this place was.

Prince Chun's Mansion, the Prince Chun's Mansion on Worry-Free Plain.

He had seen photos of Prince Chun's Mansion in some confidential archives of Puluo State. Many of the iconic furnishings in those photos were found in the actual place now.

He had been sent to Worry-Free Plain, close to Cheap Person Ridge, Knife Ghost Ridge was just there.

Luckily, the Knife Labor Ghosts couldn't leave Cheap Person Ridge for the time being, Worry-Free Plain was relatively safe for now.

According to the information, the lost soul of Prince Chun had always stayed in the mansion. If he could gain his help, he might find a way out of Worry-Free Plain.

Du Wenming searched through each room looking for traces of Prince Chun. When he reached the east wing of the main courtyard, he heard some rustling sounds.

Upon entering the room, he found a wind-up phonograph. The needle had reached the end of the record, spinning the disc noiselessly, the rustling was from the platter bearing.

Someone had wound the phonograph, and it hadn't wound down completely, proving that person hadn't gone far.

Du Wenming felt a surge of excitement, where could that person be?

Huff! Huff!

Du Wenming heard panting, turned around to see a humanoid creature crouching at the door of the east wing, looking up as if watching him.

This creature had no eyebrows or eyes but bore a horrific wide mouth on its face, with short, thick, swollen limbs, draped with some sticky pus.

Knife Labor Ghost?

Had the Knife Labor Ghosts left Cheap Person Ridge?

Huff, hiss~

Calls echoed all around. Du Wenming quickly glided to the yard, preparing to escape, only to find the entire main courtyard crowded with hundreds of Knife Labor Ghosts, blocking the way.

He was an Above the Clouds Dance Cultivator, confident in his ability to burst out of the mansion.

But he didn't know how many Knife Labor Ghosts were outside the yard.

"Friend, don't do anything foolish." Cui Tiq, with golden hair and green eyes, walked over from the back garden, "First introduce yourself, then tell me why you're here. If you haven't deceived me, I might consider giving you a way out."

PS: Worry-Free Plain is a very special place, similar to Bitter Vegetable Manor.
