"Chairman, I agree completely."
Ah Le ground his teeth and described his journey's events:
"Back then, I fled on my own, too terrified to go back to the gang for backup, scared I'd land directly in the grasp of the traitor."
"Out of choices, I headed to the Shen Family Ancestral Mansion, yet I couldn't even enter; the butler shoved me away right there..."
Upon hearing "Shen Family Ancestral Mansion," Shen Wei's expression grew somber, his gaze dropping as he fell quiet.
Noticing Shen Wei's somewhat forlorn look, Ah Le hastily changed the subject:
"I was truly cornered then, out of options, until I recalled how you always praised Mr. Fang, calling him remarkable."
"That's why I approached with a hopeful chance to beg for aid, and luckily, Mr. Fang stepped in heroically... if not, the outcome would've been disastrous."
Shen Wei drew in a steady breath, pushing down the bitterness inside, raised his head once more, and spoke in an icy tone:
"One more detail: it appears the Flying Crane Gang has the support of the Bloodthorn Mercenary Corps."
"Them?"
Ah Le froze for a moment, then realization dawned:
"That explains why those thugs have grown so bold recently, grabbing territories from our East City Association left and right—they've secured Bloodthorn's support!"
A fierce killing aura flared in Ah Le's eyes as he balled his fists hard:
"Those damn lackeys, as soon as I'm recovered, I'll go straight for their boss and rip that treacherous snake apart!"
"Hold off for now."
Shen Wei smirked coldly, a controlled fury burning in his gaze:
"Since I'm back in one piece, we can handle those grudges at a measured pace."
"Over the next few days, that traitor will definitely cause chaos with me gone; the moment he acts, his secret connections will reveal themselves..."
While saying this, Shen Wei let out a muffled grunt, beads of cold sweat forming on his brow, his complexion draining to white.
"Chairman, are you alright?"
Ah Le's face filled with shock at the sight.
"The leg... it's acting up."
Shen Wei leaned forward, hiking up his left trouser leg.
Ah Le peered down and drew in a sharp breath.
Shen Wei's lower leg had ballooned into a dark purple lump, like an overfilled bun.
The bone inside was warped, indicating a bad compound break.
From the hasty getaway, the tissues surrounding the break had swelled badly.
Without quick care, compressed vessels could lead to tissue death, meaning the leg might have to come off.
Ah Le's eyes reddened as he tried to rise:
"Allow me... let me check it, I picked up some basic aid knowledge..."
"Stop, your wounds aren't mended yet—I'll handle this."
Just then, Fang Cheng approached, carrying a first-aid kit he'd grabbed from the storage.
He knelt before Shen Wei, pulling out antiseptic iodine, bandages, cotton applicators, and fracture supports.
After eyeing the damaged limb, he nodded inwardly to himself.
Despite such grave damage, the elder hadn't complained once during the trip— a real hard case.
"Brace yourself, this will sting."
Fang Cheng warned gravely, dipping a swab in iodine to gently wipe away grime and blood from the injury.
"Do it, Brother Fang, I can take the pain."
Shen Wei gave a firm nod, staying composed.
With the area cleaned, Fang Cheng laid his palm on Shen Wei's calf, probing softly.
The sensations under his fingers mapped the break's location clearly in his thoughts.
Tibia snap, a bit out of alignment, but thankfully not in pieces.
"Mr. Fang, you understand healing too?"
Shen Wei's eyes lit up with astonishment at the display.
"Extended practice teaches the trade, and fighters always need skills in resetting bones."
Fang Cheng replied offhandedly.
His face grew focused abruptly, gripping Shen Wei's ankle and spot below the knee with vise-like strength.
Next, he twisted, pressed, and pulled in fluid, precise motions.
Crack!
The sharp pop of the bone realigning echoed clearly.
"Guh!"
Veins throbbed on Shen Wei's neck as a strained groan slipped out, his jaw locked against further noise.
"All set."
Fang Cheng worked fast. While the bone held position, he secured the leg with the splint and bound it firmly with wraps.
Ah Le stared in awe, mouth agape.
The expert, seamless method resembled a veteran bonesetter from traditional clinics.
Far more adept and quicker than the medics in their outfit's underground setup.
Fang Cheng steadied Shen Wei's leg, inspected the binding closely, and a subtle glow passed through his vision.

As the notification popped up, a faint grin tugged at his lips; he dusted his hands, rose, stowed the kit, and gave earnest advice:
"Rest up these coming days, keep weight off it."
"If it mends well, around two months from now, you can begin light movement."
"Thanks a lot, Mr. Fang."
Shen Wei mopped his sweat, gazing at his now-properly bandaged left leg with deep appreciation.
"Spend the night here, then."
Fang Cheng gestured to the space and added:
"My mom is off visiting my grandpa on her side, won't return anytime soon—no interruptions, and it's pretty secure."
"I appreciate it."
Shen Wei didn't stand on ceremony and agreed:
"I won't dwell on the life-saving gratitude, but after I sort out the mess and nab the betrayer, I'll make sure to reward Mr. Fang handsomely."
"Tomorrow, I'll track down 'Rat Qiang'."
Ah Le cut in, his tone faint yet laced with venom:
"He's just a low-level boss; not tangled in big schemes, and he owes me one, so he'll keep quiet."
"Using him to gather intel inside the group is perfect; soon enough, we'll pinpoint the rat who sold us out."
