The blonde police officer Alice, driving a patrol car, was returning to the police station, with Lin Fan and Li Zixia in her car.
"Mr. Lin, I’ve heard about your exploits in London from that American girl Lucy and Mr. Allen Scott. I’ve always wanted to meet you, and today I finally have the honor," Alice said.
Here, there was no one else around, and she openly expressed her admiration for Lin Fan.
Lin Fan smiled and asked, "Are you looking for me because of Joseph Wayne’s death?"
Joseph Wayne was killed by Lucy because he had harmed her, but without Lin Fan, Lucy wouldn’t have had the opportunity.
Lin Fan had brought Lucy into Joseph Wayne’s estate.
Alice quickly said, "No, Mr. Lin, don’t misunderstand. The case of Joseph Wayne has been closed. His death has been concluded as his own doing. We won’t hold Lucy responsible, nor will we hold Mr. Lin responsible."
Lin Fan said, "So you’ve come specifically to find me, is it just to get my statement? Officer Gao Si, you..."
Alice replied, "You can call me Alice."
Lin Fan chuckled, "Alice, do you have other matters to discuss with me? Feel free to speak up."
Alice said, "Yes, Mr. Lin, we are investigating the hijacking of a flight. Mr. Lin, you were a firsthand witness, and it was you who saved everyone on the plane. We believe you can help us uncover the truth."
Lin Fan replied, "Finding out the truth is easy. The hard part is whether you, the police, can take action once you know the truth."
Alice said, "Rest assured, Mr. Lin, this case is of a very vile nature. Someone attempted to cause an aerial disaster, which is completely intolerable. The Prime Minister is aware of this; he personally called our director before dawn to urge for an early resolution of the case."
Lin Fan asked, "In the United Kingdom, does the Prime Minister hold more power, or does the Royal Family?"
Alice was taken aback by Lin Fan’s question, hesitated, and said, "If we talk about power, it’s the Royal Family. The Queen has the power to dismiss the Prime Minister, but she generally doesn’t do so, because the Prime Minister is the one who actually governs the country."
Lin Fan said, "So theoretically, the Royal Family is stronger. If the Royal Family wants to cover up for a criminal, would the Prime Minister dare to oppose them?"
Alice exclaimed in shock, "Mr. Lin, are you suggesting that the mastermind behind this plane incident is connected to the Royal Family?"
Lin Fan replied, "I didn’t say that. For now, I don’t know how much power the other side can wield."
Alice said, "Mr. Lin, please rest assured. The Prime Minister has stated that you saved the entire plane. Your credit is substantial. In the United Kingdom, you are a hero, and no one can do anything to you."
Lin Fan remained silent.
When leaving the chapel, Lin Fan sent the recording of his conversation with Tony Smith to Catherine.
The recording was evidence proving Tony Smith as the mastermind behind the plane incident, and Catherine would present the evidence directly to the Queen.
But Lin Fan didn’t know the Queen’s final decision; he was also waiting for the Queen’s final attitude.
The Smith Clan wasn’t easy to deal with, and it was truly hard to predict what kind of power Tony Smith could mobilize.
Of course, Lin Fan was also not easy to deal with; he had made ample retreat plans, ready to leave the United Kingdom at any time.
Ring, ring, ring...
While Alice was speaking with Lin Fan, her phone suddenly rang.
Alice answered the call, and her expression changed: "Okay, understood, I’ll head over right away!"
"I’m sorry, but you’ll need to switch to my colleague’s car to get to the police station, where our director will personally receive you," Alice said.
Lin Fan acknowledged with a simple "Oh."
It was then that Lin Fan noticed something, his gaze narrowed, and he said seriously, "Stop the car!"
Alice was a bit puzzled, not knowing why Lin Fan’s attitude seemed to suddenly change.
"Stop the car immediately!" Lin Fan commanded, "Tell the police cars ahead to disperse, look!"
Lin Fan pointed to the side with his hand.
Alice glanced over and saw a large truck speeding toward them, like a runaway horse.
Alice was shocked, and she quickly stepped on the brake while grabbing the radio transmitter: "Everyone, disperse, disperse immediately!"
Too late!
The large truck came with incredible speed.
There were three police cars ahead; two received Alice’s warning and immediately dispersed, narrowly avoiding disaster.
But the one at the front was still a step too slow.
Boom!
The large truck crashed directly into the police car, smashing it into pieces instantly.
If Lin Fan hadn’t warned them in time, the truck could have destroyed at least three police cars!
Alice was so frightened that her face turned pale.
The truck, unsatisfied with just destroying one police car, immediately turned its head and tried to crush the dodged police cars.
Sitting in the truck was a fierce-looking Eastern European man, his eyes bloodshot with rage.
Alice immediately realized that this truck wasn’t out of control but intentionally targeted them; this was an attempt to destroy their vehicles!
"Reverse, about twenty meters back, there’s a small alley, hide in there!" Lin Fan instructed.
Seeing the truck charging at them, Alice couldn’t afford to think and followed Lin Fan’s advice. She quickly shifted to reverse and hit the gas pedal, sending the patrol car speeding backward.
As they reversed, the truck had already turned around, charging directly at them, crushing another police car that had initially dodged aside, leaving it as a heap of scrap metal.
The truck sped through, scraping and colliding with a line of parked vehicles, damaging over ten in an instant.
The truck crazily charged at Alice’s car.
Luckily, Lin Fan’s instructions were precise; after reversing about twenty meters, Alice saw the alley beside them, which could barely accommodate a small car.
Without hesitation, Alice backed the car into the alley.
The truck indeed could do nothing about them, missing its target.
But the truck driver, the Eastern European man, wasn’t willing to give up. He reversed the truck, positioning the driver’s window toward the alley, and grabbed a gun from beside him.
The Eastern European man was about to fire into the alley at their car.
Whoosh!
Suddenly, a flash of silver light accompanied by a sound cutting through the air emerged.
In the next second, before the Eastern European man could aim his gun at the patrol car, a small knife appeared in the center of his brow, embedded up to its hilt.
The man’s eyes widened in shock, his head tilted to the side, silent, as the gun he had just picked up fell.
Inside the patrol car, Alice was left speechless, her intent to pull out her gun and retaliate now stunned.
Lo and behold, there was a newly formed hole in the windshield of her patrol car, with the glass cracked open around it.
A moment ago, a knife had flown from inside the car, pierced through the windshield, and shot out with bullet-like speed and force, instantly burying itself into the Eastern European man’s brow!
