Lin Fan and Li Zixia returned to Barcelona, but struggled to find a hotel due to a soccer match. Li Zixia called Master Xiao Ye and learned that Master Liu, who had gone to find her, was also missing. Lin Fan suggested they would search for Master Liu once they returned to London. As they continued their search for lodging, they noticed two men watching them. Eventually, they found a secluded motor inn in the suburbs.

After some trouble, Lin Fan and Li Zixia finally settled into the motel. This rural motel had relatively basic conditions, with walls between rooms made of wooden boards clad with wallpaper, and poor sound insulation.

As soon as they entered the room, they heard indescribable sounds coming from the neighboring room. Lin Fan didn’t mind much, but Li Zixia, a young girl, was already blushing, especially since she was sharing a room with Lin Fan, which made it even more awkward.

"Miss Li, if you’re tired, go ahead and sleep," Lin Fan said. As he spoke, he closed the door, walked to the window, observed the outside, and drew the curtains.

Li Zixia said, "I’d like to take a bath first..."

Lin Fan replied, "Okay, go ahead."

With that, Lin Fan walked to one side and sat down in the room’s only chair.

Li Zixia was very embarrassed; she lowered her head and quickly ran into the bathroom. Only when she got inside did she find out that the bathroom had no door lock, just a glass door that couldn’t be securely closed! Meaning, if Lin Fan wanted to come in while she was bathing, he would just need to lightly push to enter.

Fortunately, the glass door wasn’t transparent—that was her only consolation; otherwise, she wouldn’t have dared to take a bath.

Ordinary motel designs never considered the situation of opposite-gender friends sharing a room. After all, such cases are quite rare. For those who understand, roommates are either buddies or sisters, and opposite genders are either married couples, dating couples, or those who came for that kind of thing...

For opposite genders without such a relationship, how could they casually share the same room?

For Lin Fan, though, this wasn’t his first time sharing a room with a woman; the last time was just recently, when he took Yun Qingyao back to Southern Yunnan.

Li Zixia felt a bit troubled and hesitated about taking a bath—it was quite embarrassing. It depended on her trust in Lin Fan; if she couldn’t trust him, then it was best not to go in.

She had just been through that kind of ordeal, making it hard not to be cautious of people, even Lin Fan, who rescued her from misery—after all, Lin Fan was still a man.

However, Li Zixia didn’t hesitate for long before she pushed the door open and went in.

Firstly, she really wanted to wash away the nightmares and bad luck of these past days; secondly, mostly, if she couldn’t even trust Lin Fan, then whom could she trust?

With a bit of apprehension, Li Zixia took a comfortable hot shower, emerging with wet hair from the bathroom.

To her relief, Lin Fan was still sitting in the chair with his eyes closed, resting.

Upon hearing movement, Lin Fan opened his eyes and glanced at Li Zixia.

Lin Fan had to admit that Li Zixia was indeed beautiful, and not just any kind of beauty but a stunning one that hadn’t fully matured yet. This moment of beauty after a bath was truly heart-stirring.

Saying Lin Fan felt nothing at all wouldn’t be possible, but under such circumstances, he had to feign seriousness.

"Do you want to take a shower?" Li Zixia tried to say nonchalantly to ease the tension, but upon speaking, a blush rose on her cheeks.

Coughing lightly, Lin Fan said, "No need, I need to keep watch here. Go ahead and sleep."

Li Zixia responded with an "Oh," moved to the side, picked up a hairdryer to blow her hair, and fiddled with her lovely strands while revealing her snow-white neck. The shampoo fragrance filled the room—this scene was simply a worldly beauty.

Lin Fan had to look away; being in a room with such a beautiful woman who wasn’t his girlfriend was, although delightful, also a form of torture.

This time was different from being with Yun Qingyao; back then, Yun Qingyao was masked, and Lin Fan assumed she was unattractive. Moreover, they were adversaries, so Lin Fan had no thoughts about Yun Qingyao.

A while later, Li Zixia finished drying her hair and moved to the bedside.

"Mr. Lin, I’m going to sleep," Li Zixia said softly.

Lin Fan replied, "Mm, go ahead."

Li Zixia climbed onto the bed, pulled back the covers, and slid underneath.

It was her first time sharing a room with a man and sleeping beside one. If it were any other man, she would not dare sleep, but after the ordeal of the bath, she fully trusted Lin Fan now. Still, she felt a bit bashful.

With her face burning with a deep red, she hid herself under the covers, sneaking a glance at Lin Fan, who had his eyes closed, resting. Li Zixia sighed softly, unsure whether Lin Fan was too much of a gentleman or if she lacked charm—did Mr. Lin have no interest in her at all?

Little did she know, Lin Fan was also struggling to hold back, as a beautiful woman was lying beside him—he was no Liu Xia Hui.

Due to exhaustion, Li Zixia soon fell asleep.

The room quieted down, and outside was silent too; even that indescribable sound next door had long been replaced by the sounds of exhausted snores.

It was unclear how much time had passed.

Suddenly, Lin Fan’s eyes snapped open.

He stood up and walked to the window, using his fingers to lift the curtains slightly and observe outside.

Several cars had arrived outside the motel. A group of men stepped out of the cars, taking care to walk lightly as they spread out under command—obviously intent on surrounding the whole motel.

An Eastern European-looking man headed straight to the front desk.

A plump white woman continued to snore loudly at the front desk, sleeping soundly.

The Eastern European man reached out and lightly slapped the woman’s face, waking her up.

"Which room is the Asian couple in?"

The Eastern European man asked in a deep voice.

The plump white woman, waking from deep sleep, was promptly in a bad mood, giving the man a glare: "Are you crazy? Did I allow you to wake me up?"

"Stop the nonsense!"

The Eastern European man revealed his gun.

The white woman shrieked in fright, but before she could make a sound, the man covered her mouth with his hand. "Scream again, and I’ll blow your brains out."

The white woman choked back her screams, her eyes full of terror.

"What’s going on?" a man asked in surprise as he came out upon hearing the commotion.

The Eastern European man immediately pointed his gun at him.

Seeing the dark gun muzzle, the man was shocked, raising his hands quickly: "Don’t shoot, we can talk this out."

The Eastern European man said, "The Asian couple, which room are they in?"

Asian couple? The man was stunned for a moment. Could it be that pair who checked in not long ago?

"In room 111," the man said.

The Eastern European man withdrew his gun and turned to leave, while outside, a scruffy Eastern European middle-aged man stood with two armed Burly Men on either side and several armed men in the back.

"Room 111," the Eastern European man said to the scruffy middle-aged man.

The latter motioned with his head, signaling, and the Eastern European man gestured to the men behind him. They all carefully walked toward nearby rooms, searching for room 111.

Suddenly, the Eastern European man stopped; they had already found room 111, right beside them.

They stood in front of room 111, everyone simultaneously raising their guns, aiming at the room.

Tat-tat-tat...

A barrage of gunfire shattered the silence of the night.
