Starting Sign-In from a Billionaire God Chapter 1389 - 1388
Previously on Starting Sign-In from a Billionaire God...
On a cargo ship sailing from the Atlantic Ocean to British London, in a dark container, an American high school student named Lucy was locked to a crude wooden bed. No matter how much she screamed and struggled, she got no response, sinking into endless darkness and fear.
She shouted until she was exhausted, her throat hoarse, struggling to no avail. She was forced to calm down and try to analyze her situation.
She remembered receiving a call for help from her best friend Emily, going as promised to an alley near the bar, and then being cornered in the alley, where two large men controlled her until she passed out.
Emily had tricked her!
Why would Emily deceive her? Could Emily be in cahoots with the kidnappers? How was that possible? They were best friends, knowing each other inside out. Emily wasn’t a bad person!
So, was Emily being threatened?
Thinking of how Emily was crying and saying sorry, it must be. Emily was threatened by Pete, and out of fear, she cooperated with Pete’s plot, luring Lucy into the alley.
Understanding this, Lucy was speechless. Before they left, they had promised their parents not to go to shady places, not to hang out with strangers. But right upon arrival, Emily started chatting with Pete, went to the bar, caused trouble, and got Lucy involved.
Useless teammate!
Lucy felt like crying without tears. Had she known this, she wouldn’t have gone to Eastern Europe with Emily. Sometimes being cautious yourself isn’t enough when your teammate makes careless mistakes!
Lucy was angry for a while, realizing she was also responsible. If her head hadn’t been so foggy at the time, she would have insisted on stopping Emily. But because she was sick then, she didn’t stop Emily, resulting in a bitter consequence.
She was kidnapped. What did the kidnappers want to do with her? Where were they taking her? Where was she?
Thinking about it, she fell into an uncertain panic about her future. Could she still go to school? Could she still see her parents? Would she die?
At the height of her panic, the container’s door was opened from the outside. Someone came in with a flashlight. Both wore masks; one even wore a white coat, looking like a doctor.
Finally seeing someone, Lucy quickly raised her head and said, "Who are you? Where am I? Let me go!"
The two newcomers were silent, walking to Lucy’s bedside. One held the flashlight to illuminate the area while the doctor-like person opened a suitcase and began preparing some drugs.
Then he took out a syringe, seemingly about to inject Lucy.
Seeing this, Lucy was shocked: "What is this? What are you doing? I’m asking you, can you answer me?"
Lucy, in her fear, was on the verge of breakdown.
But the two ignored her, and the doctor-like person made a gesture. The other placed the flashlight aside and held Lucy down to prevent her from struggling.
The doctor-like person then lifted Lucy’s arm and began injecting her.
Lucy struggled in terror, but the two were clearly experienced, giving her no chance to resist. Soon, the drug was injected into Lucy’s body, and she suddenly felt a dizzying vertigo.
"You have been injected with poison. You will be in pain; if you don’t obey, there will be no antidote. If you behave and do as we say, you’ll get the antidote. Understand?"
In a daze, the doctor-like person patted Lucy’s face and said.
After speaking, they tidied up and walked out.
Bam!
The container door was closed again, shutting the light off.
Lucy fell back into darkness, dizzy from the drug, sinking into an abyss...
When Lucy woke, she found the chains on her had been unlocked. She could move freely in the container, but this was no cause for relief. She felt discomfort all over, dry mouth and throat, a longing she couldn’t describe, like a person who hadn’t drunk water for three days, desperate for a drink, a discomfort like an afflictive disease.
"Help me!"
Lucy began to cry bitterly, running to the container’s door, banging on it frantically.
But despite her pleas and screams, no one came to acknowledge her.
After an indeterminate time, fatigue overtook her; that peculiar yearning felt incredibly draining. Her limbs growing weak, she lay on the ground, no longer able to bang on the door or shout, only the strange longing continued to torture her. She scratched herself furiously, breaking the skin, but the itch was in the bones; even if she flayed herself, she couldn’t alleviate it, eventually collapsing into convulsions.
This agony was beyond words.
Thus, her sole remaining thought was for relief from this torment; she’d do anything to rid herself of the pain.
Perhaps this was the kidnappers’ intention, using this fearsome drug to control her.
They seemingly had calculated the timing. As Lucy was thoroughly subdued, the container door opened again, and the doctor-like person entered, carrying food and water, squatting beside Lucy.
"Please save me!" Lucy weakly pled with the person.
The doctor-like person replied, "I’m giving you the antidote now; will you obey?"
Lucy quickly nodded, "I’ll obey, anything you say!"
The doctor-like person produced a pill, placing it in Lucy’s mouth. Lucy promptly chewed and swallowed.
Miraculously, the antidote began to relieve her pain. Lucy couldn’t help releasing a long breath; normalcy felt so good, she never wanted to return to that painful state. If she could avoid it, she’d do anything.
"Don’t think this is the final antidote. It’s temporary and only lasts a day. If you don’t receive more afterward, the torment will return. So have no illusions. Do as we say, understood?" the doctor-like person warned.
Lucy nodded, pain-filled tears streaming. This was only a temporary remedy, was she to remain under control indefinitely?
"What do you want me to do?" Lucy inquired.
The doctor-like person said, "Eat, sleep well, and you’ll find out when you wake, child."
After speaking, the doctor stood and left, shutting the container door.
Lucy rose, groped in the darkness to eat, then returned to the wooden bed and fell asleep.
Unknown time passed. Lucy was awakened by a man who opened the door and shouted: "Get out, it’s time to disembark!"
