SSS Awakening: Rebirth of the Strongest Vampire God Chapter 726 In or out?

A few moments later…
Sprawled across the fractured black stone lay the four beast-men, their limbs jerking weakly as leftover poison seared through their veins. Muscles ignored every command, breaths rasping out uneven and labored. Sweat plastered their yellow fur, claws scraping vainly at the dirt.
Damon loomed over them, hands folded behind his back, scrutinizing each one coolly like intriguing lab subjects instead of vanquished foes. "Huh," he muttered. "Decent physical resistance. Strong instincts. Not bad at all."
With great strain, one beast-man twisted his head and spat aside. "Ptui."
Damon arched a brow. "Still got the spirit, huh? That's good. I'd be disappointed otherwise."
Silence met his words. The group held their tongues, eyes blazing with defiance and pride despite bodies failing them completely.
Damon let out a soft sigh. "You guys are really making this harder than it needs to be." Dropping to a crouch, he propped an elbow on his knee. "Let's get a few things straight. I don't know who you are. I don't know where you're from. And more importantly, I don't have any grudge against you."
His stare intensified. "But I do need information."
The scarred beast-man flashed his fangs. "Kill us if you want, blood-stinker. We won't—"
Damon snapped his fingers sharply. For an instant, the poison in their bodies erupted fiercely. Not lethal. Merely sufficient.
The four beast-men seized up, stifled cries ripping from their throats as nerves exploded in torment. Veins throbbed under furry hides. One bashed his forehead into the stone, helpless to resist.
Abruptly, the pain subsided.
Rising again, Damon wore a nearly regretful look. "See? That's exactly the part I wanted to avoid."
He cocked his head a bit. "Now listen carefully. I'm not asking you to betray secrets, swear loyalty, or kneel. I'm offering you a deal."
One finger lifted. "You answer my questions."
A second rose. "I remove all the poison from your bodies."
A third followed. "You walk away alive, intact, and free to do whatever the hell you want next."
His grin broadened. "That's it. Simple. Clean. No tricks."
Jaw tight, the female beast-kin glared fiercely. "And if we refuse?"
Damon shrugged casually. "Then the poison stays. It won't kill you quickly. That would be boring. It'll just make it harder and harder for you to move… to think… to survive whatever this place throws at us next."
Silence descended once more. Moments dragged on. At last, the scarred beast-man uttered a low, grudging laugh. "Tch… you're a real bastard, you know that?"
Damon beamed pleasantly. "I get that a lot."
The beast-man breathed out steadily. "…Fine. Ask."
Damon's eyes sparkled. "Good choice."
Leaning in a touch, he asked, "First question. What exactly are you guys, and what world did the Golden Throne rip you out of?"
The scarred beast-man paused briefly before replying. "We are Kharuun, children of fang and sun."
Damon nodded. "And your world?"
"Ravakar," the female responded now, gaze locked on Damon's face. "A savage world of endless plains where the horizon never ends, and the sky bleeds red at dawn and dusk. There is no mercy there, only the law of strength. The strong devour the weak, and the weak are erased. If you think you can march into our world and enslave us, you are gravely mistaken. You will never survive there. In front of our raw strength and power, your poison is nothing."
Damon laughed lightly. "Like I said before. All I am doing is gathering information. I have no intentions of visiting your world anytime soon. Moving on to the next question. Do you have any special treasures on you?"
Ptui! The beast-woman spat now. "So this is what you were after all along. We Kharuuns only rely on our strength and ability to walk our path. Our God gives us our strength. We do not need cheap trinkets to defeat scum like you."
"You actually did not let me finish." Damon sighed softly and chuckled once more. "When I say treasures, I mean treasures to keep track of your friends. For example, if I kill this guy over here, is there a way for you to know?"
Shock froze them all instantly. To them, Damon seemed a lunatic ready for any atrocity, so they stiffened rigidly together.
The scarred beast-man's pupils shrank. "You touch one of us and the hunt will never end. Our kind does not forget blood. It is not a trinket but we know when one of us is dead."
As Damon conversed with them, a spatial rip appeared nearby. Wasting no time, he grabbed the whole group and bolted toward it.
"Alright. Chit chat is over." Offering no explanation, Damon hurled one beast-man into the spatial rip. Stepping back a bit, he set the others down. "Now, can you check if he is still alive?"
In total disbelief, the group gawked at Damon. He had hoped they knew rifts like the treants, but clearly they didn't. They eyed him like he'd doomed their comrade already.
One quickly pulled out a clear tooth and fixed his gaze on it. After a full second's stare, relief washed over him. "He is alive! He is alive!" the beast-man yelled. Then, before Damon, his expression shifted.
The tooth began to rot, crumbling to dark dust. Speechless, the beast-man stared at Damon. All Damon offered was a wry smile. "I did what I had to do." He skipped further details.
Spotting another spatial rift farther off, he flung two more into it. Just one remained upright. "Do you have the teeth for those two as well?" Damon inquired.
Rage and bitterness surged in the beast-man's chest.
"I removed their poison." Damon clarified.
His face softened slightly as he yanked out two more teeth in haste. The teeth remained unchanged. "They are fine. They are indeed fine." Joy lit the beast-man's features. Yet moments later, those teeth too decayed away.
Shock widened the beast-man's eyes. He glanced up at Damon, seeking answers, but instantly his head flew off cleanly, blood essence drained out.
Speechless, the beast-man gaped at Damon.
"I am sorry buddy. I am a bastard and I got family back home. I need to get my ass out of here while I am still alive and kicking. I needed to make sure that it was my poison that killed your buddies and not the rift. Unfortunately, you are the only test subjects I got. Besides, if I had let some of you go, would you have forgiven me? I already have too many enemies. Can't afford to leave one more alive."
He looted the body, stashing everything into his spatial ring before sweeping the horizon. Quickly, another spatial rift came into view. With zero delay, Damon charged ahead and plunged straight into it this time.
