SSS Awakening: Rebirth of the Strongest Vampire God Chapter 711 Just a small favor

Initially, a wave of delight surged through the elderly man. His daughter wasn't sprawled there lifeless any longer. She was conscious, vital, holding herself upright. For just a moment, a sense of relief enveloped him completely.
Then, he actually took in the scene unfolding, and that sight seared itself deep into his thoughts.
His daughter, who had been teetering on the brink of death moments ago, was now perched atop a vampire, while the man fondled her all over, his lips assaulting her mouth.
'Father!' Alzara reacted first and quickly shut the door right in her father's face. When she swung it open once more, she appeared fully clothed, resembling a flawless princess, all composed and elegant. 'Father, ahem… I feel much better now. Blood God has fully restored me to health.' The emperor gazed at her wordlessly, his thoughts still racing to process it all. The earlier vision lingered sharply. If possible, it etched itself even more vividly now, starkly contrasting the serene, impeccable princess before him. 'He healed you, then?' His eyelids flickered, the phrase emerging rigid and controlled.
'Yes,' Alzara replied without delay. She showed no reluctance or averted her eyes. 'Entirely. I sense it within myself. My form, my mana… all of it is steady.'
The emperor's eyes scanned her once more, taking his time this round. He detected it as well. The illness had disappeared. The frailty and the toxin that had plagued her without mercy were erased completely. He then noted the wide, radiant grin on Alzara's features and the relaxed expression on Damon's countenance. He glanced back at his daughter and the individual who had rescued her not just once, but twice. It was plain to see what shone in their expressions.
'You're truly recovered now?'
'Yes, Father.' Alzara beamed.
The emperor lingered there with that strained expression on his face for several more seconds before releasing a weary sigh, followed by another.
A few minutes passed…
A lavish banquet was arranged in the primary reception hall of the royal palace. Gilded chandeliers glowed brightly, musicians settled into their spots softly, and extended tables brimmed with dishes and drinks. Attendants hurried about, their pace quicker than normal.
Normally, the vast hall would teem with guests and assorted courtiers, but this evening, merely three occupied the seating zone: the emperor at the forefront, Alzara next to him, and Damon opposite.
The emperor grasped his fork, eyed the meal for a handful of seconds, then at last started dining. His gaze repeatedly returned to Alzara, as though he had to verify over and over that she was genuinely present. Alive. Well. Grinning.
Alzara, meanwhile, devoured her food with clear delight. 'This is incredible,' she remarked brightly. 'I had no idea I was so famished.'
The emperor halted, observing her intently. She appeared lively, bursting with vitality, far removed from the delicate child he had almost lost forever. Eventually, he laid down his fork and turned to Damon. 'Blood God,' he murmured, 'I thank you deeply. My thanks are yours. You preserved my daughter. Not once, but two times. No obligation runs deeper.'
'With all my reliable healers and potion masters coming up short, I summoned experts from adjacent realms, including some dubious rite performers. I sought out sorceresses, shadowy spellcasters, and even members of a secretive society. I exhausted every option, yet not one succeeded,' he went on. 'Each claimed their fee, shrugged helplessly, and advised me to brace for the end.' He exhaled gradually. 'I witnessed my daughter wither bit by bit, utterly helpless against it.'
He fixed his stare on Damon. 'Yet you mended it like a simple task.'
Damon merely inclined his head once. 'I did all that was in my power.'
'That surpassed what anyone else accomplished,' the emperor stated resolutely. 'I recognized you as someone capable of working wonders. You demolished three mighty clandestine groups that dominated these sands for ages, treating them like mere dust piles.'
'Those factions instilled dread in rulers across eras. I myself opted to endure them instead of confronting them head-on.' He shook his head. 'But you wiped them out in one decisive stroke. Upon reuniting with you, I believed that if anyone could pull off such a feat, perhaps he could rescue my child as well.'
'And exactly as I anticipated, you delivered once more. I stand forever in your debt, Blood God.' The emperor hesitated, then added, 'Folks claim the Light Faction and Dark Faction are destined foes. That it's the way of the world.' He snorted. 'I've endured enough years to realize that's archaic rubbish. Foes are forged by deeds, not mere titles.'
His eyes bored into Damon's. 'Regardless of others' opinions, starting now, you are my partner. Not out of terror. Not from scheming. But because you rescued my daughter when all others failed.' He pressed a hand to his heart. 'Should you ever face peril, this realm will back you. I will back you. This is my vow, pledged on my integrity.'
Damon offered a serene smile. Certainly, the fervent address was heartening, but he wasn't one to heavily trust mere promises. Thus, while the statements rang nicely, he regarded them skeptically.
As he stayed quiet, it seemed the princess had different intentions. Alzara's eyes gleamed. She set her utensils aside delicately and bent ahead, her grin overly pure to take at face value. 'Then, Father,' she cooed smoothly, 'I require a little favor from you.'
The emperor's features jerked. He swiveled to regard his daughter. Decades of governing a kingdom had honed his skill at gauging others, and at present, all his senses blared warnings. That grin of hers—charming, luminous, and overly keen—was identical to the one she flashed before demanding something wild. '…A favor?' he echoed.
'Yes,' Alzara confirmed with a nod, her pleasant smile unwavering. 'A tiny one indeed.'
