SSS Awakening: Rebirth of the Strongest Vampire God Chapter 678 It didn't come up

Damon and his companions arrived at a deceptively tranquil clearing in the Forest of Doom. A monstrous, tentacled creature erupted from a pond, but Aurora swiftly defeated it. Damon then instructed everyone to clear the surrounding level 200 abominations as a warm-up while he recuperated. Georgina's complaints about the task were met with a harsh rebuke from Kate, leading to a heated exchange.

Damon’s eyes snapped open, burning with irritation. While he could tolerate the woman’s annoying behavior toward himself, he refused to let her disrespect his women. Before he could take action, however, a pair of dark hands suddenly constricted around Georgina’s throat. "You might be related to me by marriage, but she is my sister. You should be more careful with your words and how you treat people. You are completely oblivious to the reality of the situation. You didn’t utter a single complaint while reaping Damon’s benefits and spending the gold coins he provided. Now that things are slightly difficult, you decide to let your tongue wag?"

As Georgina gasped for air, Aurora released her grip. "If I ever hear you speaking ill of my husband or our family again..." Aurora trailed off with a smile, but her eyes possessed a frantic glint that forced Georgina into immediate silence. Shifting her attention, Aurora bowed toward Damon’s mother and offered a sincere apology. "Forgive me, Mother. I did not intend to be so disrespectful or act out of turn in your presence."

Damon’s mother stood motionless, her face a mask of confusion as she nodded slowly. Although she had harbored suspicions about the various women surrounding her son, she never imagined they would coexist in such a harmonious, organized manner.

A headache began to throb behind her temples. She wondered what was wrong with the youth of today. When she turned her gaze toward her son, Damon quickly looked away, putting on a mask of pure innocence. His mother’s lip twitched in annoyance; so much had transpired, yet her son had kept her entirely in the dark!

Fortunately, Damon’s father intervened to save him from the scrutiny. "Let us not interfere in the business of the younger generation. Aurora, perhaps you can bring back something special for your mother to cook after you finish your training?" he suggested with a smile.

The lethal aura surrounding Aurora vanished instantly, replaced by a radiant, innocent grin that seemed almost divine. "Of course, Father!" she chirped happily, as if she hadn't been threatening a life moments prior. "I'll return with something exotic and delicious! Perhaps something with many legs! Or many eyes! Or both!"

The parents shared a strained, awkward laugh. "Thank you, dear," Damon’s father managed to say.

Observing Aurora’s success in bonding with the parents, Kate refused to be left behind. "I shall also bring back a gift for you, Mother," she added hastily.

Damon’s mother forced another awkward giggle and gave a nod of acknowledgment.

Then Lirae stepped forward. Due to her unique appearance, she carried an air of formality that felt quite intimidating. "I ask for your blessing, Mother and Father. I, too, shall return with a fitting tribute."

Damon’s mother blinked in rapid succession. Tribute? Blessings? She was caught between feeling respected, bewildered, and slightly terrified. In contrast, Damon’s father simply nodded with the calm resignation of a man who had accepted his children's chaotic lifestyles.

"Ah... yes. A tribute would be fine," he replied softly, using the tone one might use to soothe a dangerous predator.

Lirae bowed her head with the intense gravity of a priestess receiving a holy command. "I shall not fail you."

Still massaging her bruised neck, Georgina watched the three women with wide, disbelieving eyes. She felt like the only sane person in the room. John placed a hand on her shoulder, his eyes dull and lifeless, silently pleading with her to never speak again.

Meanwhile, Aurora had already returned to Damon’s side, hugging his arm as if nothing had happened. "Hubby," she whispered with pride, "Mother and Father like me."

Damon’s expression soured slightly. "You nearly strangled my sister-in-law."

Aurora blinked with feigned innocence. "Only a little bit."

Kate nodded seriously from the other side. "It was a necessary correction."

Lirae chimed in, "Weak mortals frequently fail to understand those above them."

Damon wasn't particularly bothered by the confrontation, as he likely would have reacted similarly. His only regret was that his niece had to witness such an exchange. Then there were his parents... His mother finally found her voice again. "Damon, you... you never mentioned..." She gestured vaguely toward the group of women. "Any of this."

Damon avoided her gaze once more. "The topic never came up."

His mother’s eye began to twitch.

Before the interrogation could continue, Damon’s father stepped in again to smooth things over. "That is enough for now. The wilderness is a perilous place. Focus on your training and ensure you return in one piece."

Lirae stepped out one last time, bowing deeply. "I shall ensure that your greatness is reflected in the success of my hunt, Mother. Father."

Her sheer intensity made the atmosphere even more uncomfortable. Damon’s mother managed a weak smile. "Y-yes... thank you, dear."

His father shot Damon a meaningful, subtle look that clearly asked: Son, why are your women so strange? Damon simply ignored it.

"Training starts now! Let’s go hunt some monsters before dinner!" Aurora shouted, clapping her hands. She then led Kate and Lirae away from the area.

Following them, Ellora, Kaelthorn, and Mallana departed for their own exercises, dragging a protesting Riven along. "My skills are better utilized guarding my Lord..." Riven argued, but his complaints fell on deaf ears.

Next, Sylvara, Nevin, and the three blacksmiths left as a group. Sylvara was already acquainted with them, and it appeared the old ghost had instructed the blacksmiths to practice their combat maneuvers as a change of pace from their usual work. They all headed out together.

As the crowd dispersed, the area finally grew quiet. Blood Wraith seized the opportunity to approach Damon. "Big bro, you’ve certainly been keeping yourself busy!" he joked as he walked up.

Damon offered a weary, bitter smile.

"Bro, the way you shut down those cities single-handedly was incredible. That was such a legendary move. How did you make your poison so potent? Can you give me some tips? I want to be as dominant as you! The way you crush everything is so heroic! Bro, can I join the Blood Domain? I’m still in the Light Faction, but I can—"

Phoenix suddenly clamped her hand over her brother’s mouth and began dragging him away. "Ignore my moronic brother. We’re heading out now."

Damon gave a nod. He then turned his attention to Meira, who was standing off to the side in silence. "Do you want to go with them as well?" he asked.
