"What on earth? Have you guys heard the news about the dark faction continent?"
"Are you pulling my leg? What is happening? First, these bastards seize a bunch of light faction cities, and now they actually have an entire dark faction continent?"
"Mofos! Is this a dream? Son of a whore! Why does Blood Domain get all the good things?"
"Hmmm. It's probably just some insignificant city. There is no reason to overreact. They couldn't possibly possess the assets and resources of our light faction continent. This whole situation is just a blown-up farce!"
"Somebody show me this fucking dark faction continent right now. I want to see it, damn it! What the hell is it anyway?"
Chaos once again gripped the world. On one side, light faction cities were falling one after another. Simultaneously, a new dark faction city had emerged? This fresh intelligence went viral instantly. Everyone was desperate to discover what this so-called dark faction continent was! Even the super guilds were left speechless for once, as they hadn't stumbled upon the dark faction continent themselves yet.
An achievement like that would typically require massive manpower and endless grinding to unlock related quests, yet somehow Blood God already had access? How was this possible, especially since he only established that damned guild today?!
Regardless of the mystery, everyone craved access to this brand-new continent and the vast potential and promises it held. By this time, numerous spies and members from other guilds had already infiltrated Blood Domain. It wasn't as if Damon was strictly screening applicants. The entire guild was a disorganized mess, and within that chaotic swarm, snakes and lizards were already hiding.
These spies specifically hurried to the newly constructed teleportation hub and promptly paid the gold coins required to use the portal.
As the initial wave of players stepped onto the dark faction continent, screenshots, photos, and videos began to circulate rapidly through local and world chats. Initially, no one paid much mind because the portal was situated in the middle of a wasteland.
But then, the magnificent sight of mermen and merwomen appeared. Merfolk—genuine merfolk—were gliding through the translucent waters like shimmering jewels. Since the Blood Domain guild currently consisted of far more men than women, this became a massive sensation.
"Broooo what the hell is this??? Are those… mermaids???"
"OMFG they’re pretty?? Like… really pretty?? Look at the chests on these gals! Fuck, that’s it. I am a permanent member of Blood Domain. I don’t really care anymore. Unless another guild gets a portal to this heaven, I am going to die a member of this glorious guild!"
The entire internet was in an uproar. Images and clips of Blood Domain members happily flirting with merwomen spread like wildfire. Players from the light faction didn't know whether to scream, weep, uninstall the game, or just surrender and defect to the dark faction.
While they were still reeling from the trauma of wondering which of their cities would be turned into a toxic hell next, the other side was joyfully laughing and chatting with merwomen.
There were other sights as well. One video showed a merman instructing a newbie on how to surf using a mana wave. Another featured a merwoman blowing a seductive kiss toward the camera. "Welcome, honored guests of the Blood King."
Meanwhile, fresh images continued to flood the feeds, each more agonizing than the last. A glittering underwater bazaar. Merfolk guards on patrol atop sea serpents. A massive, moonlit palace crafted from living coral.
And at the center of everything sat a colossal obsidian throne, carved into the likeness of a serpent coiled around a pearl.
When players inquired about who the throne belonged to, the answer they received was unexpected. Blood God was the faction leader! Blood God was the Blood King?!!!
The rest of the world had only just learned that the dark faction existed, but this man was already a faction leader?!!
The World Chat detonated.
"No. No. No. No. No. I refuse. Reboot the game. I want a restart, damn it!"
"How the fuck does he have a faction leader title?? We don’t even have that questline yet."
"Are you telling me this man owns a continent and a harem of mermaids?!"
"I can’t breathe. Someone hold me. I’m going to throw up."
Guild masters from the Light Faction suffered mental breakdowns. One hurled his helmet. Another threatened a lawsuit against the game company. One turned to his wife for a hug, and she refused, making the situation even worse. One simply curled into a fetal position and whispered, "He has a throne…"
Light Faction players collectively cycled through the five stages of grief in less than ten seconds.
Denial… "This has to be photoshopped. Right? RIGHT???"
Anger… "Fuck this game, I swear if Blood God takes another city I’m tossing away my helmet."
Bargaining… "Maybe… maybe if we pay up… he’ll stop poisoning us?"
Depression… "My auction house… my life savings… my storage chest… all gone… and he gets mermaids…"
Acceptance… "I guess I’ll move to the dark faction now."
While the Light Faction sank into despair, the members of Blood Domain were losing their minds with delight. Players were shouting, dancing, kissing their system screens, proposing to mermaids, and taking selfies with mermen mounted on mana-sharks.
One Blood Domain member livestreamed himself on the coral throne, yelling, "We are royalty now, peasants! Bow before our king!" Many others then began to chant: "Blood King! Blood King! Blood King! Blood King!"
Even some of the spies who had originally joined Blood Domain to sabotage the guild immediately revised their plans.
"New plan. We don’t sabotage. We stay. We thrive."
"I’m not reporting anything back to my guild. They don’t deserve this paradise."
"I’m marrying a mermaid. Goodbye."
Within ten minutes, half of them were already conversing with NPC mermaids like lovesick teenagers, while the rest filmed the events as if they were witnessing the birth of a new religion.
And just as the madness reached its peak…
One of the dark faction players finally succeeded in reaching a demon town.
