Though the crowd seemed relaxed, the one that was facing Alidus didn’t seem relaxed at all.

It wasn’t just because he knew that he was facing one of the relic users that had been one of the earliest to bond to a relic. Nor was it the fact that he knew that Alidus was the chosen of his race’s god.

It was because of the pressure that he was feeling coming from Alidus.

Even though Alidus had shrunk down to normal human size, the pressure that he released was still giant sized. Not to mention that it was strengthened because of the relic that he possessed.

So in the end, it was the other relic user that made the first move.

It was one that was made out of desperation since he didn’t know what kind of things Alidus was capable of.

With a single swing of his staff, there were flames that started surrounding him. The flames that were raised with this single swing of the staff weren’t any normal flames, these were flames that were formed from divine energy.

Even if they were to touch water, it wasn’t as if they would disappear that easily.

So the only thing that one could do was get rid of them with power that was greater than them.

Even though he could see the flames gathering in front of him, it didn’t seem like Alidus was worried at all. The calm look on his face showed that he was already prepared for this.

It only took a single swipe of his club to pick up the flames that had been coming at him.

It wasn’t that the flames were pushed away, it was that the flames themselves were picked up by the winds that he created and were now following the current that he created.

The way that the flames swirled around him, it created this whirlwind of flames around Alidus.

All of this was created with just a single swing of Alidus’ club.

The staff relic user was completely stunned when he saw this, but it wasn’t as if he could just back down. So the only thing that he could do was double down and keep going.

"HA!" With this roar, he stabbed the staff into the ground and started releasing every single flame that he could.

There were flames that poured out of him and filled the surrounding area, but they didn’t just fill the arena alone like before. Instead, the flames were being directed all in Alidus’ direction.

It would have been too passive to just release the flames like this and cover the stage.

With the power that Alidus showed, the staff relic user knew that he couldn’t be passive since he would be countered by this power. So the only thing that he could do was try to overwhelm Alidus with his own power, even if he already had a feeling that it didn’t work.

In the end, it wasn’t a clash between flames like one would expect.

The flames that were released afterwards were being absorbed by the whirlwind of flames that were around Alidus. It didn’t seem like they were able to resist the pull of that whirlwind with how quickly they were absorbed by it.

It was just that Alidus looked too relaxed for what he was doing.

It was only from time to time that he would have to swing the club to keep the whirlwind of flames from collapsing.

The staff relic user’s expression became more and more ugly when he saw the way that Alidus was playing with him.

"If you can stop this, then I give up." He said with gritted teeth in the end.

All of the flames around him suddenly condensed together to form a weapon floating above him.

This was something that he had been capable of doing earlier, it was just that he felt that this would have broken the rules of the tournament. They were only here for sparring, it wasn’t as if they were planning on killing each other.

Using a large move like this would no doubt cause problems that one couldn’t take back. But with the power that Alidus demonstrated, the staff relic user felt that he would be able to take it.

It was the same for the referee as they didn’t stop the fight.

From the looks on the faces of everyone in the crowd, they were all curious just how much Alidus could take.

When the two collided, there wasn’t the clash of flames that everyone had been expecting.

When it was over, the flame whirlwind was the only thing that was left.

"I give up." The staff relic user said right before the flame whirlwind reached him.

Alidus cleared it out with another swing of his club.

However, it wasn’t as if he had been planning on using that flame whirlwind to hurt the staff relic user in the first place since this was just a spar in a tournament.

"Garuda." I said as I narrowed my eyes to look at Alidus.
