After pulling that relic off, I said, "You’re free to do whatever you want with him, but this divine energy relic is the shared property of the racial alliance. This isn’t his personal property, so naturally it won’t go with him."

The representative immediately lost his temper when he heard this.

After all, there was no meaning in saving this relic user if they couldn’t even take the relic away. The relic was the most important thing for their country and was something that they had to keep their hands on.

So even if it meant tearing all face with the Kite Kingdom, this was something that had to be done.

I just ignored him as I held the relic in my hand.

Cold breaths were taken by everyone that heard this as looks of disbelief appeared on their faces.

They had heard about people making connections to divine energy relics, but they had never heard of someone losing that connection before. They had all thought that forming a connection with a divine energy relic was something that would be permanent.

It wouldn’t be something that could be destroyed no matter what happened.

But now this had been completely subverted by the reaction of the relic user.

If it wasn’t for him saying it himself, they wouldn’t have believed it.

Seeing that I didn’t say anything in the end, the former relic user couldn’t help feeling more and more agitated. If it wasn’t for the fact that he was being restrained by the special chains and the people holding him down, he would have charged me already.

It felt like he would have done anything to reform that link with the divine energy relic that he once had, but there was no reaction that came from the relic itself. It was as if the relic was just completely ignoring him with how silent it was.

Seeing this, the former relic user couldn’t help feeling more and more agitated until he finally couldn’t take it.

He leaned his head down and opened his mouth as if he was going to swallow the relic.

It really was hard to figure out what he was thinking when he did this, but it was hard to figure out what desperate people were capable of in the first place. At this point, there really wasn’t anything but desperation that was on his face.

However, he didn’t even get a chance to put his desperate plan into play.

"Mmm."

Before he could actually bite down on the relic, the relic suddenly started to glow and released ice. In no time at all, there was a layer of ice that blocked the mouth that was trying to close around it.

Even when the former relic user did all that he could to break the ice with his mouth, he wasn’t able to make a single scratch in it.

"Are you an idiot? That’s ice created with divine energy, do you really think that your teeth are made of steel or something?"

I could even see that there was a chip that appeared on one of his teeth when he did this which showed just how little he cared about his own safety. The only thing that he really cared about was reclaiming this relic since he knew what it meant to him.

But when he was this desperate, there was another reaction that came from the relic.

Finally, there were traces of rational thought that reappeared in the eyes of the former relic user. Though that was also accompanied with traces of fear as he realized what was happening.

It seemed like he was finally starting to regret what he had done, but it was already too late as it didn’t seem like the relic was about to stop.

When it was over, there was this layer of ice that appeared around the former relic user.

This layer of ice was completely wrapped around him, preventing him from doing a single thing.

Once this was all over, there was a deathly silence that lingered in the air.

It was as if everyone was afraid of even making a single sound.

I just calmly picked up the relic and turned back to look at everyone before saying, "Do you still think that this relic belongs to him? I don’t know what will happen if you force this relic to go with you, but I do have a guess."

With a casual look at the frozen former relic user, there was a chill that ran down all of their spines.
