"You’re not heading back early tonight?"

"After what you gave me yesterday, it would be better if I went back a bit later." I said with a bitter smile.

The leader looked a bit confused at first, but then he slapped me on the back before saying, "Oh, so you’re bragging about your newlywed life? Come, let’s get some alcohol in you then."

With that I was dragged off to a bar that they regularly visited.

Though I was surprised to see that this bar wasn’t the kind of bar that I expected.

This was a bar that was actually half a bar and half a casino.

One side of the bar was filled with alcohol facilities and the other half seemed to be filled with everything that one needed to gamble.

But it didn’t seem like they were bringing me here for that latter half.

Just one sip was enough for me to figure out why they had brought me here.

However, this was also a trick that this bar most likely used.

With alcohol that was at this level, it wasn’t hard for them to draw in clients. Even if a fraction of the clients went over to the other side, then they would be able to make a profit.

The gambling side was a business where the house always won, so it wasn’t as if they would lose anything from having few people on that side.

Seeing the prices of the alcohol that was sold here, I was even more certain of this. After all, I had a certain idea of how much goods of this quality were supposed to be priced.

It just came with being the husband of the owner of one of the largest companies in the Kite Kingdom...No, at this point, it was already at the level where it would be considered the largest.

Without a doubt, the alcohol was being used as a loss leader to draw in the crowd and get them to gamble. Once they were drunk enough, it really made them unable to resist as the alcohol removed all of their inhibition.

Once they started gambling, it really was hard for them to stop.

This was a beast that really siphoned everything from you until you had nothing left.

A part of me even found it strange that the royal family would even allow such a business to exist in this place. After all, it was a place that was even accessible by the general public like these fishermen that I worked with.

For them to exist in a place like this without any regulation, it was clear that there was some kind of corruption behind it.

But this wasn’t something that I was going to deal with right now.

I might report this back to the in laws later, but for now I was going to use this place for my own experience.

There was also a part of me that wondered if the other fishermen had brought me here because they were trying to draw me into the gambling hole. But it turned out that this wasn’t the case at all.

With my physique, there was no way that I would have gotten drunk. Only to test what they were thinking, I pretended like I was getting drunk and was even about to head over to the gambling side.

Before I could, they suddenly grabbed me and pulled me back to the table that we had been at.

"Don’t even think about it." They said this through hushed whispers.

From what I could see, it wasn’t as if this was their first time coming to this bar with how familiar they were with the people here. Yet even so, they were this firm on not heading over to the gambling side even to watch the fun.

The way that they acted, it seemed like they even knew a bit about the hidden side of this casino. But it didn’t really seem like they were planning to tell me anything about this place that I shouldn’t know.

They were fully convinced that they should keep their heads down and not cause any trouble at all.

In that case, there was no reason for me to go against this.

However, it was interesting to see how they reacted to this place.

At the same time, I couldn’t help being interested in this gambling den.

Gambling wasn’t one of the things that I had the chance to experience since I had always been busy with one thing or another. I never really had the chance to stop and have fun at a casino like this.

It was why I couldn’t help being a bit interested in the other side.

This was a place that wanted as many people gambling as possible.

Which was why they just let whoever come gamble since there was no way that they would be able to take advantage of the house.

Though tonight, it was certain that they would suffer at my hands.
