War, now in its second form, confronts the protagonist, revealing the capital's inhabitants were taken hostage to lure the protagonist back. Despite the protagonist's increased strength, War has trapped them using spacetime warps created by Destruction Energy, intending to settle the score from their last encounter and save the capital's people.
A clamor reached my ears from the opposite side of the capital, accompanied by familiar divine energy signatures. These were the very same divine energy traces I recognized, belonging to individuals I'd previously trained with. Crucially, these were the very people trapped within the capital by the forces of Destruction. My sensing of their energy meant they had indeed grasped the unfolding situation and were initiating their response. The trapped individuals inside the capital were now pushing through the Destruction forces, making their escape. All they required was sufficient time to fully extricate themselves. This, therefore, meant my role was to create that necessary time. Only an all-out war could genuinely threaten them; the other corruption energy monsters were mere cannon fodder against their might. Even if other Apostles of Destruction intervened, they possessed the means to retaliate. However, it appeared War was indifferent to the events unfolding elsewhere. From its focused gaze upon me, it was evident I was its sole target. While this was beneficial, a shiver traced a chilling path down my spine at the sight. To buy the time needed, allowing War to dictate the engagement's pace was a poor strategy. Without a word, Lupus commenced gathering her power. She surged forward with all her speed. This rapid advance was no longer an insurmountable obstacle for us, as my senses had been significantly amplified by the third inheritance from the God of Creation. Even at her extreme velocity, I could still process the incoming information and react in time. This confirmed that the previous limitation had been decisively overcome. As Lupus sprinted ahead, she executed a subtle shift to her right. This maneuver angled her trajectory to bypass a direct confrontation with War, instead guiding us into a circling path around it. Concurrently, I withdrew my orb, aiming it steadily at War. In response, spectral weapons materialized around me. Yet, these armaments vanished as swiftly as they had appeared. They reappeared moments later, embedding themselves firmly in War's shield. War had instinctively raised its other hand, manifesting a shield, the instant I launched the swords. It seemed this time, War intended to avoid the impact of these blades, and for good reason. "It appears you've grown somewhat stronger. You're not yet capable of threatening me, but it's unwise to endure too many of these," War stated. War's acknowledgement was a clear indicator that my assaults were having an effect. With a sufficient barrage, a critical opening could be created for exploitation. The primary challenge, however, was surviving long enough to achieve this. It was highly improbable that War would passively endure our attacks as it had before. Especially since the swords I sent were actively purifying the very shield War now held. Recognizing the threat I posed, War would undoubtedly escalate its efforts and prioritize neutralizing me immediately. As if to validate this exact thought, War abruptly lifted the lance held in its free hand. However, the lance was not brought to bear as an offensive weapon. Instead, War plunged it directly into the ground. Initially, the action seemed devoid of purpose until Lupus suddenly leaped into the air. This was due to spectral weapons erupting from the ground directly beneath us. Crafted from corruption energy, their origin was readily apparent. This revealed War's long-range attack method, employed against distant adversaries. Despite its knightly appearance, War possessed diverse offensive capabilities. Perceiving the ground as unsafe, Lupus summoned wind beneath her feet, elevating her into the air. With each movement, a gust of wind propelled downward, sustaining her levitation. We had moved beyond the immediate reach of the subterranean weapons, but I understood Lupus couldn't maintain this aerial maneuver indefinitely. Each step consumed her energy as she continuously generated the wind for propulsion. It was only a matter of time before her energy reserves were depleted, particularly at our current swift pace. Yet, I didn't get the opportunity to launch another attack before something emerged from beneath us. The eruption of weapons from the ground was not the entirety of this attack. Following a brief tremor, the corruption energy armaments that had sprung from the earth suddenly shot skyward. These projectiles were aimed directly at Lupus and myself. Though Lupus seemed to be the target of a greater number of these weapons. It appeared War's immediate priority was to nullify our superior mobility first and foremost. My orb, with a solitary gesture, conjured armaments of my own making, deflecting those barrage of corruption energy. Though ultimately cleansed, the disparity in strength was evident. More armaments had been necessary to counter War’s onslaught. "I am still not strong enough," I whispered, then added aloud, "But at least I've improved. I can fight back now."
