Shota erected a barrier with relics to stall the pursuing War, buying time for the city's evacuation. War toyed with restrained attacks before abruptly turning toward the capital, prompting Shota, Joan, and Lupus to unleash desperate provocations. Their full-powered clash birthed a bizarre spatial distortion, startling War into retreat as an unseen force began pulling Shota in.

"Where is this place?"

Joan and Lupus, who were right there with me, received my question, but they simply shook their heads.

It was obvious without asking that they were just as baffled by the recent events.

One instant, we battled War, and the next, we got hurled into this unfamiliar spot.

Uncertainty lingered about whether this was even the same world anymore...

My final recollection was War stretching out to seize us as the distortion dragged us away. The desperate way War clutched at us suggested it was exerting every effort to hold us back.

Ultimately, though, the distortion's force overwhelmed it, sucking us inside.

"Does this mean that we were thrown into a completely different world?"

Having come from another world myself, I considered this a real possibility.

Still, jumping to that conclusion felt premature.

Though clueless about our exact location, I sensed we were within some stone-built edifice, ruling out any advanced technological realm.

From this alone, it appeared we'd been displaced somewhere else in the familiar world.

Lacking further details, pinpointing our position remained impossible.

"Can you give us some light?"

Joan gave a nod and summoned flames.

Thanks to my Storage Ring, retrieving torches to scatter around was simple. Surprisingly, the spatial distortion hadn't disrupted the subspace within the ring.

Torchlight revealed our environment's features, though the flames weren't bright enough to fully illuminate the vast chamber.

A closer look confirmed this was an expansive underground area, devoid of sunlight.

Dangers lurked everywhere in such an unknown space.

That's why I extinguished half the torches eventually.

Enough remained to spot nearby threats, despite the risk of detection—far preferable to blazing beacons announcing our presence.

While advancing, I also left torches trailing behind.

They marked our route and illuminated our path for spotting approaching perils.

Covering just one direction out of four beat having none at all.

Guided by these torches, we ventured from the nearby wall. Ahead lay only shadows beyond our lit patch.

"Are we ever going to find our way out of here?" Deep down, fear of endless dark gripped me, yet no immediate solution existed.

"There is one way..." Temptation tugged at another part of me, but I dismissed it as far too risky.

Attracting unknown threats by having Joan act might prove disastrous.

With our situation unclear, it wasn't an option—reserved strictly for dire emergencies, which this wasn't yet.

"No, there’s no need to worry."

Joan's gaze toward me mirrored my own thoughts.

After some walking, we encountered an object.

"Is this a house?"

Definitely a structure—that much was certain. Yet this lone wall offered no hints about its nature.

Venturing inside posed risks, given the unknowns within.

"Form up around me and prepare for a fight if necessary, but we’ll try to run first since we have no idea what’s inside."

Lupus and Joan both nodded their assent.

Tracing the wall quickly led us to the entrance.

The door revealed a typical dwelling.

Furniture had rotted away long ago, but it screamed ordinary home.

No initial clues about our whereabouts appeared, until rubble yielded a find—spotted thanks to my keen sight, despite its concealment.

"Isn’t this...a statue of Solista?"

Endless visits to the Holy Empire had made me weary of such statues.

Its presence here verified at least one fact.

"So we’re still in the same world and on the same continent."

Relief washed over me upon this realization.

Should we have been hurled into another world, I truly had no idea how to make my way back to my family.

Yet, even after sorting that out, one nagging thought still weighed heavily on my mind.

"Even if we’re in the same world, where exactly are we? I’ve never seen this place before..."
