Shota's Isekai NTR Adventure Chapter 2142: Completely outclassed
Previously on Shota's Isekai NTR Adventure...
Just as its name implied, War's second form took on the shape of a knight.
A lance and shield materialized in War's hands, the armor encasing War thickened considerably, and a horse forged from corruption energy formed beneath it.
Undoubtedly, this was a genuine knight.
At that moment, the intense pressure radiating from War became palpable to us all.
Assuming this second form, War transformed into an entirely new foe before us.
I abandoned any hope of rivaling War, yet yielding so readily wasn't feasible.
Because the assault targeted what mattered most to me in this world.
Thus, fight I must, even as my gut urged me to flee.
That said, I promptly dispatched a message as well.
"Evacuate the city and guide everyone to a safe place. I’ll do what I can to distract them."
Lupus bore this message on the wind back to the prime minister in the city.
I trusted that once he got it, he'd grasp the required steps.
Admittedly, his capabilities were quite constrained...
Even so, confronting a monstrosity like War left us no alternatives.
After War uttered those words, its mount abruptly lifted its head and let out a cry.
The cry reverberated through the skies, seemingly quaking the ground below. Worse still, a shockwave embedded in the cry left everyone feeling unsteady.
Such was the power disparity from its prior state.
"How did you do this?" I suddenly demanded, fixing my gaze on War.
War showed no concern, staring straight back at me.
Though corruption energy hid War's face, I could readily picture a smug smile there, one dripping with condescension toward me.
I saw no fault in War's arrogance, for Destruction's forces clearly held the advantage.
Their delay tactic to await War's arrival struck me as brilliantly sound.
Reinforcements or not, this beast rendered us utterly helpless.
"You didn’t expect this because you met those two idiots. I am a completely different being. Death and I are the real Four Omens, those two were just chosen to fill the numbers. Any real member of the Four Omens would have a second form." War declared as if stating an obvious fact, though I harbored doubts.
Nonetheless, prolonging War's monologue was vital to evacuate the capital's inhabitants.
War abruptly lost interest in banter, swinging its shield and lance.
The motion of its weapons betrayed preparations for a charge.
"Run at full speed."
I skipped retaliation entirely; distraction was paramount, so Lupus bolted at maximum velocity. Her full speed left me unable to act, but breaching War's guard was impossible regardless.
Evasion alone defined my current goal.
"You’re a bit slow."
This taunt stunned me, revealing War's mount matching Lupus's peak pace with ease.
No use prodding Lupus faster, for our link confirmed her limit.
"Roar!"
A roar thundered from overhead, unleashing a torrent of flames upon War and me.
I needed no glance skyward to identify the fire's originator, shouting nonetheless, "Get out of here!"
My cry arrived too late.
Powerless, I watched War's lance thrust upward toward Joan gliding above.
Yet prior to impact, Joan drastically shrank to evade. The strike curved persistently after her.
Despite frantic maneuvers, it grazed her ultimately.
Thankfully just a graze, lest she perish.
Lupus raced to Joan's descent, where I scooped her up before resuming our desperate flight.
How long War would indulge this chase remained unknown, but it could crush us effortlessly if inclined. Its pursuit mimicked playful cat-and-mouse.
War vastly outmatched me.
"If there’s anything that you can do, you better do it now or else it’s all over."
Desperation fueled my plea to the Mark of God on my hand, yearning for intervention—yet none came.
The Mark's dim flicker implied the gods' indifference.
"Are they abandoning me now that I’m in this situation? Is there really no hope at all?" Despair overwhelmed me as I beheld this heartbreaking scene.
As though it could sense my utter hopelessness, War abruptly declared, "Now that you’re in despair, I guess there’s no need to continue this game."
