Shota's Isekai NTR Adventure Chapter 2133: Small dragon

Upon pushing open the door, this room looked completely ordinary.
The maids present stood out as the only anomaly, yet they appeared unharmed. A shimmering golden glow enveloped them, holding them in a state of suspended animation.
Apart from those maids, just one more element captured everyone's gaze within the chamber.
That was the crib holding the peacefully sleeping Arthur.
Despite the chaos raging beyond these walls, none of it disturbed his rest in the slightest.
Right upon entering, it became clear that some force sealed off all external noises. Clearly, the one who erected this barrier was looking out for Arthur.
Or perhaps it was his personal power shielding him amid the peril.
"Is there anyone here?"
Silence hung heavy for a beat before I called out abruptly.
No response echoed back at all.
The profound stillness made it feel utterly empty here. It truly appeared as nothing but Arthur's own power manifesting to safeguard himself.
Suddenly, a noise reached my ears.
At that sound, I motioned for the group to stay silent and drew out the orb as a precaution.
Thus, I crept forward gradually toward the crib until standing directly before it.
Yet nothing chose to show itself even then.
Arthur slumbered in the crib without a care, as if no turmoil in the world could touch him. He wasn't compelled into sleep; he simply radiated total peace.
Such a peculiar scene amid this crisis.
I chose not to wake him, instead scrutinizing the crib with sharp focus.
After all, the sound had emanated from the crib, signaling something concealed within.
Only after lingering there awhile did the truth dawn on me.
A soft rustling arose from the blankets.
Something lurked hidden underneath them.
Without a second's delay, I lunged for the section of blanket that had stirred moments ago.
No sooner had I moved than another rustle sounded, the hidden thing detecting my reach and squirming to flee.
But its speed fell short; I snatched the blanket before it could slip away.
"This is..." Shock froze me the instant I beheld it.
Not difficult to put into words, yet an utterly bizarre spectacle nonetheless.
"Small dragon."
The perfect label for this creature.
Not merely any small dragon, but a golden one mirroring the beast from Arthur's birth day—proven by its five-clawed claw.
Upon exposure, the small dragon defied typical draconic behavior.
Rather than exuding expected draconic arrogance, it shrank back instantly. Above all, it craved escaping the spotlight right then.
Hard to manage with our entire group staring.
Shaking off the surprise, it darted to Arthur and tried curling behind him for cover—though disastrously, exposing half its form.
Its hiding method inverted every instinct a person would use.
It evoked memories of a clumsy reindeer from my previous life...
"What are you?"
My soft words drew its gaze, though it offered no reply, just wary eyes fixed on me.
Once I demonstrated no danger, the small dragon edged out from Arthur's shadow, inching closer until it stood before me, gazing upward.
No clue what thoughts swirled in that small dragon's mind, but hostility had vanished; now it simply regarded me thoughtfully.
Concerning those thoughts...
Moments later, its five-clawed hand stretched toward mine invitingly. I extended my palm in turn.
Grasping hold, it guided my hand atop its head.
That hopeful expression practically begged for a gentle pat.
The small dragon's behavior left me utterly perplexed, yet it showed no aggression...
Moreover, it had clearly been guarding Arthur moments before.
Even if it ducked behind him upon spotting us.
Ultimately, I stroked its head, drawing a delighted smile from the small dragon.
