Undine recounts the origins of the water elementals and her history of tricking them into servitude during their infancy. Despite the initial deception, the elementals harbor deep devotion toward the Water Spirit King, viewing her as a protective guardian rather than a liar. After the elementals shift their demeanor toward a more welcoming attitude, they agree to escort the traveler to their source. Undine rushes the group, eager to move forward with their critical task.

"It is quite a long story," Undine remarked with a heavy sigh.

I shot Undine a questioning look, my brow arched in anticipation of an explanation, but it seemed the spirit had no intention of continuing.

Judging by the way Undine glared at the water elemental ancestors, it seemed as if it desperately wished the ground would swallow it whole. Of course, that was an impossible feat given that we were currently submerged in such depths.

After a brief, heavy silence, Undine finally drifted forward, exiting the protective water bubble.

Even with its departure, the sphere remained perfectly stable, showing no signs of strain against the immense surrounding pressure.

Once outside, Undine approached the five water elemental ancestors, who promptly shrank down to match the spirit's stature.

With a single, fluid motion, Undine raised its hand and soundly slapped the heads of each ancestor. It acted with absolute fearlessness, completely unfazed by the throng of surrounding elementals.

The strangest detail was that not a single water elemental showed the slightest hint of anger.

None of the gathered entities reacted to the sight of their ancestors being struck in such a casual manner.

Bizarrely, the ancestors themselves were beaming, appearing to relish the physical correction Undine was dishing out.

It certainly defied the majestic image one might expect from elemental ancestors, yet the crowd didn’t seem to mind; in fact, the surrounding elementals appeared genuinely happy for their elders, watching the scene with adoration.

It truly was a surreal spectacle to witness.

The only individual who didn’t seem to be part of this bizarre display was Undine, who looked genuinely exasperated by their antics.

"Why can you not simply let the past remain in the past? You are already aware of the truth, so there is no need for this play-acting," Undine stated, clearly exhausted by the group's behavior.

Even so, the ancestors remained unmoved by Undine's words.

In truth, they seemed almost insulted by the suggestion, retorting, "Regardless of anything else, you are our princess."

The gravity in their voices suggested their resolve was immovable, leaving me even more perplexed by their strange devotion.

Regardless, one fact had been confirmed.

A profound, long-standing bond clearly existed between Undine and these ancestors, forged over countless eras.

It bore a striking resemblance to the dynamic between Lupus and the wind elemental ancestor.

However, the connection here felt distinctly one-sided compared to that previous encounter, as the water elemental ancestors were far more enthusiastic than their supposed princess.

Seeming to give up on arguing, Undine returned to the safety of the water bubble. "This is my current contractor. He has arrived to assist with your predicament."

Only then did the surrounding elementals finally acknowledge my presence.

Until this moment, their focus had been entirely fixed on Undine, treating me as if I were nothing more than empty space.

Once Undine performed the introduction, their attention shifted toward me like a spotlight.

Yet, the way they scrutinized me made their underlying motivations clear.

"So, you are the current lead of our princess?"

Though the tone wasn’t explicitly hostile, the implication was unmistakable. Simultaneously, the ancestors surged in size, looming larger as they drifted closer to our bubble.

They were clearly trying to assert dominance by physically imposing themselves.

The message was clear: they could crush my tiny sanctuary at any moment.

This was a stark contrast to how other elementals had treated me, though I found the refreshing change of pace somewhat amusing rather than daunting.

It was genuinely comical to see the ancestors posturing in such a way.

Naturally, the only reward they earned for their show of force was another sharp smack to the head from Undine.

Undeterred by the correction, they kept their eyes locked on me, clearly determined to ensure Undine’s safety under my care.

It was all quite bizarre, as this behavior deviated sharply from the traditional relationship between elementals and spirits.

Undine let out another sigh. "Back off and allow me to converse with him."

The ancestors hesitated, casting one final, lingering look in my direction—a gaze that felt heavily weighted with unspoken threats.

Or, perhaps, it was more of a warning: "Should you dare harm our princess..."

They didn't need to finish the sentence; the way the water churned aggressively around my bubble said everything necessary.

Even so, they eventually retreated under Undine’s stern direction.

Once they had cleared a path, Undine turned back to me within the bubble. "As you can see, they tend to be a bit overprotective..."

That was a massive understatement, but I kept silent, holding my breath as I waited for the rest of the explanation.

"It traces back quite far. Though, to be fair, they were merely deceived when they were young, which is the root cause of their current behavior."
