Shota's Isekai NTR Adventure Chapter 2106: Hearing it from her

It took several days, but eventually, the feather returned to its true size.
Considering the final result, the sheer scale of the feather was truly remarkable.
It measured over ten meters in height and spanned several meters in width.
Even for a feather, one would assume it could crush an individual beneath its weight should it fall.
Surprisingly, the wind elementals held no fear of it. Their gazes were filled with a reverence that bordered on worship.
In fairness, this relic had served as their guardian throughout all these years.
Once the restoration concluded, they seemed desperate to initiate a ceremony immediately.
I chose not to participate, opting against utilizing any corruption energy this time, as there were far more pressing concerns to address.
When the event ended, the wind elemental ancestor emerged to see us off. However, the way it fixed its gaze upon Lupus suggested there was a specific reason for its appearance.
It would be more accurate to say it had come to discuss a particular matter.
I could even discern the guilt it harbored toward Lupus, stemming from our prior discussion.
Yet, the wind elemental ancestor ultimately remained silent.
Lupus broke the stillness, stating, "I heard what you said, and it is acceptable."
The ancestor appeared relieved at her words, only to pivot and fix me with a look of reproach, as if blaming me entirely. I narrowed my eyes in response to its gaze.
The ancestor seemed indifferent to my scrutiny, concerned only with Lupus's thoughts.
Their bond had to be extraordinarily deep for the ancestor to behave in such a manner. They were clearly close in the distant past, and time had evidently failed to erode that connection.
With those words spoken, we departed the home of the wind elementals and sealed the entrance once more.
However, as soon as we reached the surface, Lupus came to a sudden halt.
The others looked toward us with expressions of confusion, particularly because we remained shrouded in the thick gas. Since Lupus was the one manipulating the gas with her wind, they were effectively tethered to her movements.
Regardless, to their astonishment...
"What is happening to the gas?"
"Why is it suddenly descending?"
"Cease this immediately!"
Nothing they said caused the gas to retreat.
I remained idle, knowing these were the actions of Lupus and that no harm was intended. She was simply utilizing the gas to isolate us from the group for some private discourse.
I was well aware she held no hostility toward the others.
Once we were shielded from the rest of the group, she suddenly remarked, "I suppose you must have learned of my history."
I offered no words, simply nodding in acknowledgement.
Lupus also remained silent, watching me with a steady gaze.
Normally, I would claim to easily interpret the expressions of a wolf, but this time, her face remained an enigma.
She appeared to have perfected a poker face.
It wasn't difficult to discern the reason for her demeanor, but I held my tongue, awaiting her move.
Without understanding her internal state, it was difficult to formulate a response.
"Now that you are aware, there is nothing left to conceal. However, I must clarify this: I have no need for your pity."
While I didn't entirely concur, I made sure my face betrayed nothing.
"This is the nature of my birth and upbringing; there is nothing inherently wrong with it."
The firm quality of her voice made her sentiments clear, and I offered a simple nod.
Lupus appeared to have nothing further to add, yet I felt compelled to speak.
"Do not dwell on the past. You are one of us now."
Though it may have seemed trivial to some, it was the only sentiment I could offer.
Lupus displayed no immediate reaction, but shortly after, she gave a brief nod.
While it was hardly a massive breakthrough, it seemed to represent a genuine shift in our relationship.
There was little doubt this would simplify things in our future dealings with Lupus.
With nothing left to say, Lupus began to disperse the gas.
It didn't take long for us to emerge, but we were met with various gazes the moment the mist cleared.
This was to be expected, as Lupus had essentially abducted me by casting the others aside.
Ultimately, I reassured them that everything was fine.
We had simply engaged in a private conversation.
Though they remained skeptical and clearly wary of Lupus, that was merely a consequence of her behavior.
It would likely take time for them to extend their trust, but she had little alternative in the situation.
At the very least, I knew a stronger bond had been forged between us.
