Shota's Isekai NTR Adventure Chapter 2066: Forbidden act
Previously on Shota's Isekai NTR Adventure...
After the initial cannibalistic deed took place, it was like unleashing everything from Pandora's Box.
The very first aggressor didn't limit itself to just one other elemental; it began targeting the rest of them too.
As soon as that unfolded, more joined in the frenzy against the other elementals.
Yet, their assaults didn't stop there alone.
In time, alliances formed among those who had clashed before, sparking rivalries between the groups. It appeared they all craved dominance as the mightiest elemental around.
They discovered that devouring a more powerful elemental granted them greater strength from it.
Before long, the attackers turned their aggression into full-scale battles between their factions.
All the while, they kept preying on those who hadn't struck first.
It turned into a brutal loop of rock constructs clashing endlessly, driven by raw survival instincts and the thirst for more power. Destruction of their entire kind felt inevitable at this rate.
Witnessing all this, I could grasp why the elder had held back on revealing their past.
This was hardly the sort of legacy anyone would proudly share.
It was a dark, blood-soaked chapter they'd prefer to bury forever.
Still, glancing at the elder...
The elder's gaze toward me hinted at deeper secrets they concealed, "Just wait, you’ll see..."
I couldn't fathom anything more horrific than this, yet I continued observing the rock constructs to uncover what the elder meant.
Following several more rounds of rock constructs battling one another, the view shifted.
The massive rock constructs persisted in their attacks, but smaller ones banded together for protection. They formed a tight-knit group rejecting the savage ways of the giants.
Even so, they appeared aware that discovery was only a question of when.
The smaller constructs clustered in a circle, resembling a solemn gathering. No movements or noises accompanied it, leaving the purpose a mystery.
That changed when one abruptly pierced another rock construct.
"Betrayal?" The thought crossed my mind immediately, though I quickly saw it wasn't so.
For the stabbed one showed no fight back whatsoever.
The stabbed construct's expression toward its stabber revealed this act was entirely voluntary.
Soon, the energy flowed over, but that was far from the conclusion.
With the first construct vanishing, another fell to the stabber's strike.
This pattern made it obvious no accident was at play.
Their ultimate strategy turned out to be...
"We had to do what was forbidden just to survive. That is the shameful history of our rock elemental tribe." The elder verified my suspicions at last.
I found myself speechless in the face of this revelation.
After all, such a tale defied simple words.
They resorted to this out of sheer desperation for survival, yet the losses they endured were immense. Circumstances had cornered them with no escape.
To endure, they descended to the depths of those fiends...
Through the self-sacrifice of volunteers, they mustered strength to counter the fiends. Even combined, the struggle remained grueling.
The fiends had amassed power over ages and slain countless rock elementals before, so mere unification fell short.
The conflict hung in precarious equilibrium, with heavy losses mounting on both fronts.
The tide turned ultimately due to...a colossal presence.
This entity differed vastly from the rock elementals shown by these constructs.
It dwarfed even the biggest of the rock elementals in size.
"That was the beginning of our long relationship with the gods." The elder clarified as this giant emerged.
I'd suspected as much, but the elder's insights from the sidelines proved helpful.
Evidently, rock elementals shared a deep bond with the gods, likely explaining their backing in the initial war.
Not that rock elementals had cause to oppose the gods anyway.
The Destruction forces sought total annihilation, meaning they'd forfeit all without aiding the gods.
Upon the god-representing colossal rock construct's arrival, the rock elementals gained divine favor. Suddenly, they surged past the fiends who had held them down.
Empowered by the gods, retaliation became possible at last.
In the finale, they halted the fiends bent on wiping out the rock elemental tribe.
Yet victory demanded the sacrifice of innumerable rock elementals.
"This one incident had cut our rock elemental tribe’s population down to a tenth of what it had been in the past and brought our tribe close to the brink of destruction. But those that had received the blessings of the gods protected us until we were able to build ourselves up once more."
