Shota's Isekai NTR Adventure Chapter 2059: Being drained

Previously on Shota's Isekai NTR Adventure...
The protagonist arrived in the rock elemental village, bewildered and unfamiliar with the surroundings, having followed a divine oracle to offer aid. The elder, surprised by his ignorance, revealed that the village was a godly sanctuary created as compensation after the war of the gods, sustained by a central rock pillar now mysteriously shrinking and fading. As the elder described rock elementals as beings formed from condensed elemental energy, distinct from spirits, the protagonist examined the pillar's worn surroundings and sensed a deeper, unusual connection to its divine essence.

To confirm I wasn't imagining things, I asked the elder, "Can I take a closer look?"

The elder nodded right away without any delay.

The speed of the elder's reply left me feeling a bit uneasy inside. It almost seemed like they were concealing some hidden intentions behind that instant agreement.

Because of that, a part of me wanted to stay away from this object entirely.

However, deep down, I sensed the intense bond radiating from the rock pillar and realized I needed to inspect it at minimum.

So, I cautiously inched forward toward the rock pillar.

Once I crossed that initial threshold with my first step, I braced for any possible response from the rock pillar. Yet, it simply stood motionless, as if completely unaware of my approach.

Of course, this rock pillar wasn't alive from the start anyway.

Noticing the lack of any response, I kept advancing until I stood directly before it.

Positioned right in front of the rock pillar this way, the tie it shared with me became vividly clear. No surprise it formed a deeper link compared to typical divine energy artifacts.

All this stemmed from the creation-attributed divine energy saturating the rock pillar.

Moreover, it was an exceptionally refined version, even purer than my own.

That made sense, since the elder mentioned it as a gift straight from the gods.

Coming directly from divine origins, it was bound to brim with such untainted divine energy.

But the fact that it carried creation attributes suggested the source of this divine energy was...

Before I could ponder further, a abrupt response surged from the rock pillar.

I had stretched out my hand to probe for any unique traits in the rock pillar. Yet, the instant my fingers touched it, the rock pillar began to glow.

The illumination from the rock pillar wasn't the sole outcome here. There was another effect that only I could detect, as it involved my own energy being siphoned away.

Right as my hand connected with the rock pillar, my divine energy began pouring into it.

I didn't keep my hand there for more than a moment, and the drain wasn't aggressive in nature. As soon as I withdrew, the rush of divine energy halted completely.

I stared at the rock pillar with a puzzled expression, though I had no idea what had just occurred.

That feeling was certainly unlike anything I'd experienced previously...

It didn't feel like an assault or exploitation; instead, it resembled a mutual exchange between the rock pillar and myself.

In fact, the brief contact with the rock pillar had brought me real benefits.

My creation-attributed divine energy was just the rudimentary form. Despite its creation nature, it wasn't particularly impressive or advanced.

However, after interfacing with the divine energy within the rock pillar, it felt like I'd absorbed some new understanding.

Indeed, following that link, my divine energy now carried a greater density.

I never got the chance to speak up, as the elder along with the other village leaders of the rock elementals stepped up to examine the rock pillar.

It wasn't long until cheers broke out among them.

"It’s bigger!"

"It became a little bit bigger!"

"The source of this realm won’t die now!"

I glanced at the rock pillar upon hearing their words, yet I couldn't spot any noticeable increase in size.

The rock elementals, being attuned to such proportions, ought to perceive it clearly.

From their vantage, it probably appeared marginally larger or similar...

"Why did it do that?" I questioned the elder once I snapped back to awareness.

The elder fixed me with an expression of fresh surprise and bewilderment before replying, "We don’t know either. The only thing that was in the prophecy was that the representative of the gods would help restore the source of this realm."

I squinted at the elder upon hearing those words.

After all, their statement implied they had anticipated something like this.

The elder couldn't ignore the meaning behind my sharp look, so they added, "We didn’t know the specifics, so we didn’t know that this would happen."

I narrowed my gaze again, but the elder met it steadily with calm openness, holding nothing back.

Facing me with such transparency, it became tough to hold any resentment toward them.

Still, that wouldn't push me to repeat the action, even with their expectant stares urging me to continue.

Though it posed no real harm, the process still left me with some impact. A portion of my divine energy had been depleted through that bond with the rock pillar.

I had no clue how sustained such a connection might last, but I wasn't about to dive in recklessly.

If I decided to proceed, I'd start by testing it carefully.
