Shota's Isekai NTR Adventure Chapter 2018: Turning to the god’s messengers

Once the monster issue was resolved, nothing stood in the way of our journey back to the Kite Kingdom.
Moreover, with no need to dawdle any longer, Klein along with the royal guards began urging everyone to hasten the return right away.
A bitter smile crept across my face upon hearing their words, yet I found no words to counter them.
Thus, we ended up speeding through the skies, and I braced myself to confront the consequences.
That was my assumption of how things would unfold, yet none of it actually occurred.
Ultimately, they paid me no attention whatsoever.
Did this mean they were deliberately shunning me, or were they merely swamped with their own duties?
Regardless, it felt like I'd received a temporary reprieve from judgment in the meantime.
This prompted me to summon all the god’s messengers bound by contracts to my side.
At the moment, a particular question burned in my mind for them.
"Has any of you encountered this qilin previously, or one resembling it?"
"Qilin? So that's its name?" came the reply from the god’s messengers.
This didn't catch me off guard, as I was aware qilins weren't part of the original game world this realm drew from. Even so, I held my tongue and fixed them with a piercing gaze.
My intent was to apply some pressure, hoping one might reveal hidden knowledge.
Yet, what met my eyes was genuine bewilderment among these god’s messengers.
"This qilin seems somewhat familiar to me, though I've never crossed paths with this being before."
"They remind me of our kind in some way, yet an odd sensation emanates from them too."
"I seldom interact with anyone because I stay indoors, so questioning me is pointless."
The final voice belonged, of course, to the shut-in Queenie.
Still, their words confirmed that none possessed any insight into this qilin.
Actually, the qilin appeared somewhat intimidated by these god’s messengers.
Initially, curiosity drew the qilin closer, as if sensing a kinship with them. But by the end, their aura seemed to overwhelm it like an act of intimidation.
Given its youth, the qilin could naturally feel daunted facing these ancient god’s messengers.
Nevertheless, the fear it showed shouldn't have reached such extremes.
The qilin's behavior truly baffled me.
Eventually, I set aside the subject, realizing the god’s messengers held no clues about the qilin. Shifting focus, I broached the main purpose for assembling them.
"Does anyone possess a method to contain Dorothy’s power?"
I aimed this query chiefly at the kraken and Queenie, who had arrived later.
Lupus and Zeldir had already confessed their ignorance prior to my departure, leaving me reliant on these two.
"I can't offer any help at this time," the kraken replied, absent from my location.
Though contracted to me, the kraken remained submerged, overseeing affairs in the Merman Empire. They continued monitoring the ongoing changes there.
Regarding Queenie, I harbored no real expectations.
I'd released her earlier to examine Dorothy, but she hadn't uncovered any viable aid.
I'd hoped Queenie's boundless divine energy might resolve it, yet it proved insufficient.
Therefore, our only option was for Max to craft something using Queenie’s divine energy to protect Dorothy temporarily.
It wasn't ideal, but it represented our sole available path forward.
"May I examine her?" the qilin inquired unexpectedly.
I'd withheld the qilin from Dorothy out of uncertainty about its actions and fear of a volatile clash between their powers, which opposed one another directly.
With alternatives exhausted, though...
"Fine, let's head over," I agreed with a hesitant nod.
The qilin exuded assurance in its ability to assist, but I held zero optimism for success.
That said, events unfolded in a way that left me stunned.
"Dad, how come you're returning so soon?" Dorothy questioned in astonishment, having only recently seen me exit her room.
After a brief pause, I replied, "I've brought a new companion for you."
To avoid inflating her expectations further, I introduced the qilin simply as a friend.
Freshly hatched, the qilin—despite its rapid mental growth—aligned roughly in age with Dorothy.
Thus, this could serve as an effective means to safeguard them both.
The qilin passed through the established barrier and regarded Dorothy wordlessly.
Dorothy reciprocated the silent gaze, unfamiliar with such a creature.
Following their mutual stare for a moment, the qilin abruptly lifted a hoof and directed it toward Dorothy.
Perplexed by the gesture, Dorothy nonetheless extended her hand to meet the qilin's hoof.
Instantly upon their touch, a brilliant burst of light erupted.
