Shota's Isekai NTR Adventure Chapter 2011: Too much of a good thing

Just as the orc was about to approach the qilin, an additional barrier of peculiar energy blocked its path.
A broad grin spread across the orc's face as it found itself halted in this manner. It looked like it relished being confined like that.
While I understood their feelings because I could observe the transformations taking place in their forms.
It appeared only a question of time until they advanced to the subsequent stage of their evolution, no matter what form that might take.
The issue lay in the fact that achieving that next evolutionary step would make them far more powerful. Letting them continue to grow in strength this way posed a serious threat.
That's why I lifted my hand, readying myself for an assault.
It was preferable to strike them down before any further developments occurred.
Or at least, that would have been the plan, except for the voice that suddenly echoed in my mind.
"Let me take care of them."
At first, I had no clue where this voice originated, but then it dawned on me that it came from the freshly hatched creature. It emanated from the qilin beneath me, gazing upward at me.
I had been correct about the egg possessing its own consciousness; I simply hadn't anticipated the qilin communicating right after emerging from its shell.
Engaging in conversation with this being that had only hatched moments earlier felt truly odd.
Although I harbored some uncertainty regarding how the qilin intended to handle these orcs, I ultimately held my tongue. Deep down, a portion of me instinctively trusted that the qilin could manage the orcs independently.
Thus, I held back to witness exactly what the qilin would attempt.
It felt peculiar, yet an inner part of me inherently trusted that the qilin could accomplish something, despite this being our initial encounter.
Describing it proved challenging, but if pressed...
It genuinely seemed like a bond existed between the qilin and me.
I couldn't fathom how this link had formed, but it truly felt present.
Initially, the qilin appeared inactive. At the start, it just seemed to watch the orcs suspended by the energy it had emitted.
However, it wasn't long before a shift occurred.
The change involved an increase in the energy pouring forth from the qilin.
I couldn't stop myself from furrowing my brow a bit upon sensing this, uncertain of the qilin's intentions. Yet, it quickly became clear what was happening as the orcs' facial expressions altered.
Their initial looks showed delight from savoring the sensation of the energy surging through them. But now, they appeared terrified of the energy, even suffering from its effects.
It didn't quite add up why this was occurring, but the obvious indicators left no room for doubt.
"Squee!"
The orcs cried out in agony, as though desperate to flee the peculiar energy's hold that they had savored only moments before.
As this unfolded, bizarre alterations began manifesting in the orcs.
These weren't the same enhancements that had previously strengthened them.
Rather than bolstering their power, certain areas of their bodies started to bulge. It was like they had taken in excessive power, leading to harmful consequences.
This scenario evoked the image of a balloon overfilled with air, inching toward bursting from the strain.
The orcs obviously resisted this fate and fought against the binding energy. Yet, regardless of their efforts, they couldn't escape its grip.
Actually, it looked like their strength was draining away with each passing moment.
Evidently, this mutation offered them no benefit.
This represented a mutation heading in the exact opposite direction.
I squinted at the orcs, trying to decipher the phenomenon, but realization struck only when a phrase from my previous life came to mind.
Excess of anything beneficial could turn harmful.
Like those who indulged excessively in indulgence or laziness...
One needed to recognize boundaries and avoid overreaching.
For these orcs, they were being forcibly infused with the peculiar energy that drove their evolution, causing their current state. They simply couldn't process all the absorbed energy and were inflating like balloons.
After an extended period, they finally exploded.
I had foreseen this outcome, so I had encased the orcs in a sheath of ice beforehand. That's why, when they detonated, none of the remnants flew toward me.
Once the orcs had burst, the qilin turned its gaze to me, seemingly anticipating approval.
I found myself staring at it with an odd expression.
This newly born qilin had obliterated the orcs in such a fashion without a second thought.
The qilin's method proved truly frightening...
But what puzzled me most was the resemblance between the peculiar energy the qilin wielded and my own divine energy.
