Shota's Isekai NTR Adventure Chapter 2002: It doesn’t matter
Previously on Shota's Isekai NTR Adventure...
"What are they thinking? Have they lost their minds?"
A grin slowly formed on my lips as I listened to Klein's words.
It was easy to figure out exactly what he meant by that statement.
Just one matter stood out as the obvious target of his comment.
Following my discussion with King Lune, extra guards had abruptly appeared around the estate where we resided.
Their stated reason was recent troubles that required them to ensure our protection. Yet the manner in which they encircled the place showed it was far from their sole purpose.
The encirclement suggested they aimed mainly at trapping those within the estate from escaping.
They acted like they aimed to seal every possible gap to prevent any actions from those inside.
Treating a visitor like me in this way...if the rest of the racial alliance caught wind of it...
One could easily predict the blow to the Solar Kingdom's position within the racial alliance.
That's precisely why I replied, "It doesn’t matter, just ignore them. We’re not pressed for time, so let’s simply outlast them."
Klein and the rest of the royal guards gave me odd glances upon hearing this, yet I simply ate my morning meal in peace while they gathered their thoughts.
Their reaction didn't catch me off guard, given how I'd been hurrying nonstop before.
But now there was no reason to keep pushing, as I'd located every god’s messenger mentioned to me. Even if I wished to travel, no destination awaited me anymore.
Searching openly for another god’s messenger would only squander effort.
Far wiser to consult the ones I'd already bound through contracts for leads. Plus, this offered a perfect opportunity to pause and strengthen the abilities gained from those pacts with the god’s messengers.
Hence, there truly was no urgency to dash about at this point.
Still, for Klein and his companions who'd trailed me constantly, this shift felt jarring compared to our previous pace.
It resembled slamming to a halt after endless exertion.
Their responses stirred a touch of fond reminiscence in me, reminiscent of experiences from my previous life, though I couldn't offer them any aid.
After all, such changes were simply part of life to endure and proceed beyond.
Following a brief quiet spell, Klein inquired, "So how much time do you intend to grant them?"
"We’ll observe and wait. We don’t know how long they plan to continue this."
Klein clearly disliked my response, yet he held his tongue knowing my words rang true.
Noticing his expression, I let a subtle smile show before adding, "They can’t maintain this indefinitely. Once enough time elapses, outside forces will surely press them. They still must consider the position I occupy."
A subtle grin touched Klein’s features too as he grasped my implication fully.
We truly had no actions required on our part.
Actually, remaining indoors without venturing out suited us best.
Nobles arrived to meet us, but these weren't the previous visitors.
These figures clearly tied to the royal family had driven away the earlier nobles.
Their visit's purpose was obviously to probe for details on me.
Beyond that, they posed various seemingly unconnected queries. However, keen observers could discern their true intentions.
Thus, I dismissed them all claiming poor health.
They showed reluctance to depart, but lacked any means to force a meeting when I refused.
Meanwhile, handling any covert intruders proved straightforward for us.
After all, Klein and the others were elite royal guards, making it simple to neutralize lurkers if desired.
Dispatching such forces revealed their eagerness to fulfill their aims.
A full week slipped by in this manner until envoys from the racial alliance arrived at the Solar Kingdom. Evidently, the kingdom failed to suppress the news.
The racial alliance united every nation across the continent, wielding influence vastly exceeding the Solar Kingdom's.
It even included the four human empires.
A lone empire could overwhelm this Solar Kingdom, let alone the additional realms from other races.
Ultimately, the Lune Royal Family had little option but to approach me alongside the envoys, withdrawing all guards from the estate.
Right up to the conclusion, I welcomed them with a grin and shared none of the insights they sought.
