Shota's Isekai NTR Adventure Chapter 1997: Scattered essence (1)

Deep within the castle's inner reaches, I trailed after King Lune.
Before we set off, he had sent away all his guards.
Observing that, I also told Klein and the rest who were with me to stay back.
They appeared reluctant, yet as visitors, they had no option but to comply.
After walking behind King Lune for some time, we reached what appeared to be the castle's most secluded chamber.
Surprisingly, this area lacked the expected chill and moisture typical of such a profound depth in the castle. Instead, a cozy warmth permeated the atmosphere, creating an inviting feel.
On the surface, nothing suggested a trap, yet I refused to drop my vigilance so easily.
At the corridor's conclusion stood a set of massive doors.
These doors carried an air of uniqueness, not merely from their intricate design.
A closer inspection revealed a peculiar sheen on them. Evidently, they were crafted from an extraordinary substance, given how they caught and reflected the light.
Examining it nearer, I sensed these doors weren't formed from any substance I recognized.
Despite encountering countless materials through Haley's trade dealings, I remained unable to identify this door's composition. It felt as though this substance originated from beyond this realm.
As we approached these doors, King Lune abruptly halted and faced me.
I arched an eyebrow in his direction, curious about his intent, but his words truly surprised me.
"This is as far as I go. Please go in, the ancestor is waiting for you."
"Huh?"
This domain was theirs, yet he claimed he couldn't proceed further. It seemed like he wasn't permitted entry by whatever awaited me beyond these doors.
For an instant, suspicion of another trap flickered in my thoughts.
Ultimately, I chose to follow through and discover the truth.
If they'd orchestrated such efforts merely for an ambush, it no longer signified. I was resolved to pursue this to its conclusion and uncover their destination for me.
With his refusal to accompany me, I promptly shoved open the door ahead without delay. It yielded effortlessly, almost as if anticipating my touch with its smooth motion.
Clearly, the contents within had anticipated my arrival.
Whether that boded well or ill remained uncertain.
Stepping inside after the door swung wide, I noted nothing particularly remarkable about the space. The oddity lay in its bright illumination, despite no visible light sources.
Gazing upward, the radiance seemed to descend naturally from above.
Pinpointing the light's origin proved elusive.
After taking a few strides into the chamber, the door behind me crashed shut abruptly. A gust from its motion brushed past me, indicating its proximity.
It was like the force closing it had timed for my passage just beyond the threshold.
Remaining unfazed, I directed my gaze forward.
The room held little besides what looked like a pedestal, though the pedestal itself failed to draw my focus. Rather, the object atop it seized my immediate interest.
This stemmed from the subtle hints of divine energy emanating from it.
Undoubtedly, this blade represented the heirloom transmitted down the Lune Royal Family's lineage.
The presence of this faint divine energy surrounding it sufficiently indicated its prior ownership by a divine entity. However, this aura paled in strength compared to any other relic I'd encountered.
It appeared on the verge of vanishing entirely.
This hardly resembled an artifact a deity would bequeath.
More like the remnant inheritance from a fallen god.
"Can gods even die?" This question involuntarily surfaced in my mind upon beholding it.
"You’re finally here." A voice echoed suddenly, pulling me from my reverie.
I skipped searching for the voice's origin, knowing it could only stem from one source.
My eyes fixed on the sword perched on the stand before me, anticipating what might unfold.
Following the voice, the sword responded with a glow that intensified around its form, though it didn't persist long.
The luminescence peaked at a faint visibility before detaching to shape something.
Given the limited energy, nothing grand could materialize.
The energy coalesced until it shaped a tiny orb.
