Shota's Isekai NTR Adventure Chapter 1980: Is it some kind of trap?

Given the magnitude of the situation, it was inevitable that the matter would be reported.
However, it was treated with far more gravity than usual, as several people suspected this might be a deceptive ploy orchestrated by the forces of Destruction.
Consequently, an emergency gathering was convened for the representatives of the racial alliance.
Because of my status within the racial alliance, I had no choice but to participate in this meeting.
I was conflicted about what to disclose; determining which details to share and which to keep hidden was a difficult task.
Ultimately, since we would be standing on the same battlefield in the future, they needed some understanding of the situation. Still, I had no desire to reveal the full extent of my activities to them.
There was simply no way to predict what complications might arise later on.
This was particularly true because the racial alliance remained on edge following the incident involving Dorothy.
As the session commenced, the tension among many of the attendees was palpable. However, the source of their anxiety differed from what I had originally anticipated.
The underlying cause of their stress was pure apprehension.
They were convinced that this was a ruse by the forces of Destruction designed to seize our territory.
While it made little sense for them to target a wasteland like Death Valley, the representatives were far from a rational state of mind. Their primary concern seemed to be the preservation of their own borders.
After all, we had recently launched successful strikes against the outposts of the forces of Destruction.
By seizing their lands, we had effectively forced them into a state of concealment.
Given the bizarre powers they possessed, it wasn't far-fetched to believe they were plotting to reclaim territory for themselves.
As for their reasoning for starting with Death Valley...
"They must have been conducting some experiment that went wrong. There is no limit to what those foul beings are capable of, so this could easily be some kind of blunder on their part."
"That has to be it, otherwise, why would they ever focus on a location like that?"
"It is the only explanation that makes any sense."
The individuals speaking were clearly desperate to convince themselves, yet even those who remained skeptical shared the same deep-seated fears.
The reality was that we knew far too little about the true potential of the forces of Destruction.
If we hadn't stumbled upon it by chance, we would have remained ignorant of their ability to manipulate space to create hidden outposts. There was no telling what other hidden talents the forces of Destruction held in reserve.
It is genuinely difficult to feel secure when a mysterious threat lurks in the shadows.
Humanity’s greatest fear has always been the unknown.
One cannot prepare a defense against a threat they cannot even comprehend.
An assault launched from the darkness is always much harder to repel than one coming from the light.
For that reason, they were all pushing this issue, searching for any means to safeguard themselves. They claimed their actions were for the sake of the racial alliance, but the reality was a selfish desire for personal protection.
The proof of this was in the constant glances directed my way throughout the meeting.
Even during discussions that had nothing to do with me, people kept eyeing me as if they were waiting for me to speak up.
I immediately recognized the implication behind their stares, as I was considered the foremost expert on such matters. If anyone could provide clarity on this situation, it was certainly me.
Despite this, I maintained my silence the entire time.
"Regarding this situation, we absolutely must develop some form of countermeasure."
This time, they didn't mince words, staring directly at me as they spoke.
It was obvious they were trying to pressure me into taking charge, or at the very least, provide a useful suggestion. They were desperate for me to take action.
Yet, I simply sat there, maintaining a stoic expression as if I were ignoring their pleas.
The representatives from the major empires also remained quiet, sensing my intentions. They could tell I was staying silent for a specific purpose, so they chose not to intervene.
It could be said that they understood my character far better than the delegates from the smaller nations.
That familiarity came from working closely with me in the past, whereas the representatives of smaller countries rarely even had the opportunity to see me in person.
The meeting continued in this stagnant fashion until the envoy from the Holy Empire finally spoke up, "Enough, let us conclude the session here. We are making no progress, so let us take a recess and revisit this in the morning with fresh eyes."
The representatives of the smaller nations were clearly dissatisfied with this conclusion, but they couldn't object when the more influential members gave their silent approval.
Most of them were still bitter that they hadn't managed to coax an opinion out of me.
However, judging by the looks they gave me, I knew what was on their minds.
They were giving me the night to organize my thoughts so I could return with the answers they craved.
