Elyria incapacitates Howard after he begs Heena for mercy. She then reconciles with Heena, and she and Viktor depart. Alex arranges for Howard and Siobhan to receive care and invites Heena to see something. They, along with Mrs. Blackwell and her companion, discover Elyria and Viktor embracing intimately on the terrace, revealing their true relationship.

"You can emerge if you have witnessed enough," a deep, commanding voice boomed from above, causing the entire group to freeze. They exchanged uncertain glances, a wave of embarrassment and confusion washing over them, quickly followed by the chilling fear of discovery.

For several tense moments, silence prevailed, the atmosphere charged with awkwardness.

Finally, Alex offered a subtle smile and placed a gentle hand on Heena’s shoulder. "Let's go," he murmured softly.

Heena paused, then gave a slight nod. Together, they ascended the final steps toward the terrace. Mrs. Blackwell and the younger woman trailed behind, their faces still tinged with embarrassment.

Upon reaching the terrace, the scene unfolding before them brought everyone to an abrupt halt.

Elyria and Viktor stood side-by-side.

Viktor's expression was serene, a hint of amusement in his eyes, his stance relaxed and assured.

Elyria, conversely, was stiff beside him. Her silver-white hair was slightly dishevelled, and her face openly displayed her mortification – cheeks faintly flushed, lips pressed into a thin line, yet her gaze was fixed on the newcomers, radiating unmistakable anger.

The contrast between the two was stark.

No one uttered a word. They simply observed each other, at a loss for what to say.

Viktor perceived the apprehension and hesitation in their eyes, alongside Elyria’s evident ire. With a smooth smile, he lightly patted her shoulder. "Come now, Elyria," he said in a hushed tone, "you mustn't frighten them."

He then turned to the group, his voice adopting a warm, inviting cadence. "Greetings," he began, his smile genuine. "I am Viktor, a long-time confidant of your aunt and instructor. Rest assured, she is merely a bit bashful at being discovered in this manner."

His amiable demeanor helped to diffuse the palpable tension. Heena, after a brief moment of hesitation, stepped forward, extending her hand with a polite smile. "I am Heena Sterling," she replied. "It is a pleasure to meet you, sir."

Viktor clasped her hand gently, his smile unwavering. The instant he released her hand, Heena turned, embracing her aunt warmly. She then whispered playfully into Elyria’s ear, "Where have you been keeping him all this time, Aunt? You never mentioned him…"

Elyria’s eyes widened slightly. She playfully swatted Heena’s arm, whispering back, "Cease this, you little rascal."

A visible relaxation settled over Elyria. The prior embarrassment of being observed by her niece and students in such a compromising situation with a man gradually receded. Her posture softened, and her expression regained its characteristic composed elegance.

Noticing her two students lingering somewhat apart, Elyria called out, "Come closer."

The two women exchanged a brief glance before slowly approaching. Elyria placed a hand on each of their shoulders, introducing them to Viktor. "These are my students," she stated, then looked to Viktor with a small smile, inquiring, "What do you think?"

Viktor surveyed both women from head to toe, his gaze calm and analytical. A subtle smirk played on his lips. "Adequate," he responded casually.

Elyria beamed with pride. "They possess considerable talent," she added. "She," she indicated Mrs. Blackwell, "has already achieved peak Enhanced and is poised to ascend to the next realm. And she," she gestured to the younger woman, "is still quite young but has already reached Early Enhanced."

Viktor gave a nod, though his reaction was far from impressed. He acknowledged their potential but, having witnessed the extraordinary capabilities and resources of another individual, he found little to surprise him anymore.

His gaze drifted sideways, settling on Alex, who stood a short distance away, a placid smile gracing his lips as he quietly observed the unfolding scene.

Elyria’s demeanor shifted instantly to one of seriousness. She moved forward, stopping directly before Alex. Her eyes held a complex mixture of gratitude, regret, and an emotion she struggled to conceal.

"Thank you for attending to Viktor," she said softly. "And I sincerely apologize for my earlier behaviour. I was in the wrong."

Alex regarded her with a calm smile, gently shaking his head. "Do not trouble yourself over it," he replied. "I took no offense, and I am unharmed, am I not?"

Elyria nodded slowly, a measure of tension leaving her shoulders. She turned, noticing Heena standing beside her, clearly anxious about a potential renewed conflict between them.

Elyria's gaze softened. She reached out, taking Heena's hand gently. "You are accompanying me this time," she declared firmly. "No arguments. I will not permit you to remain here alone under any circumstances."

Heena hesitated, her fingers trembling slightly within her aunt’s grasp. She slowly turned her head, her eyes meeting Alex's, who watched her with quiet attentiveness from a short distance.

Her heart was a tangled mess. Uncertainty clouded her thoughts about him, and an even bigger question loomed: could she truly be with someone like him?

He was a cultivator, and a formidable one at that. If her desire was to remain by his side, she could no longer be content as an ordinary girl. Transformation was necessary; she needed to become significantly stronger.

Taking a steadying breath, Heena turned to face her aunt, her eyes now reflecting a newfound resolve.

A firm nod confirmed her decision.

"...Alright, Aunt," she murmured, her voice soft but steady. "I will go with you."

Elyria's face blossomed with genuine delight at Heena's agreement, a relieved smile gracing her lips.

"Good," she affirmed warmly. "Very good."

Turning to her two accompanying students, her tone became authoritative yet calm.

"Let us depart."

A fractional pause preceded Heena's movement. She then walked directly towards Alex, her silence speaking volumes. Stepping into his embrace, she held him tight, burying her face against his chest, a solitary tear tracing a path down her cheek.

"I will see you again someday..." she whispered, her voice thick with emotion. "No matter what."

Alex's hand gently found her head, his voice a soft, reassuring balm. "I will be waiting," he assured her. "Go with your aunt. Everything will be alright."

Holding him for a beat longer, Heena slowly released her grip. Her gaze met his one last time, brimming with unspoken feelings, before she turned to rejoin her aunt.

Elyria clasped Heena's hand, signaling her students to follow. As they reached the staircase's edge, Elyria paused, glancing back towards Viktor.

"Stay safe," she advised, her voice carrying a quiet gravity. "And try not to get too entangled in political affairs. The situation is about to become exceedingly complicated."

Viktor acknowledged her words with a slight, knowing nod.

Without awaiting further response, Elyria resumed her direction, guiding Heena down the stairs with her students trailing closely. Their footsteps receded, leaving the terrace in complete silence.

Now, only two figures remained.

Alex stood on one side, emanating calm composure, while Viktor occupied the other, hands casually settled in his pockets. The atmosphere between them crackled with an unspoken tension.

Silence draped the space, unbroken.

They simply stood, facing one another beneath the vast expanse of the sky.
