Shadows of the Deep Space Chapter 1754: 50: New List (Part 3)

“That’s right, don't flatter yourself just because Lord Fanluo God Emperor has shown you some favor recently. I've been with him far longer; I am the one who truly holds his favor.”
“Is that so?” Yakes inquired, his expression unreadable.
Bureneda perceived Yakes’s impassive demeanor as a personal slight. A surge of rage erupted within him, causing him to step back as he issued a command. “Eliminate him for me!”
Instantly, two formidable men drew beam guns from their waists. However, before they could even raise their weapons to target Yakes, beams of light streaked from behind him, striking the two men. They staggered backward, their exoskeleton armor rapidly failing under the assault and being pierced through, causing them to collapse onto the ground.
Bureneda's head snapped up in sheer horror as he looked over. His gaze fell upon Yakes’s subordinates, Kaber and the others, who were advancing with beam guns in hand, their muzzles all trained on Bureneda. Faced with the dark muzzles, Bureneda suddenly felt a wave of panic and stammered, “Yakes, what is this? What do you intend to do?”
“What do you think? Naturally, I intend to end your life,” Yakes responded with chilling calm.
“You wouldn't dare! If you kill me, Lord Fanluo God Emperor will surely hold you accountable,” Bureneda threatened, his voice trembling with fear.
Upon hearing this, Yakes calmly stated, “Bureneda, you are far too naive. You completely misunderstand Lord Fanluo God Emperor’s beliefs. Your life or death is utterly insignificant to him.”
“What blasphemy are you uttering?” Bureneda retorted, his voice laced with bewilderment.
“Finish him.” Yakes had no desire to waste further words on Bureneda. Kaber and his companions pulled their triggers without hesitation. Swish, swish! Beams of light struck Bureneda, and he was immediately shot dead. He fell to the ground, his face frozen in an expression of utter disbelief. The thought that Yakes would dare to kill him had never crossed his mind. Yakes observed Bureneda’s corpse, his expression unchanging, and coolly commanded, “Kaber, dispose of the body.”
“Yes, Your Highness. But… will this truly be alright?” Kaber and the others inquired with a hint of apprehension.
“It will be fine,” Yakes replied coldly. Lord Fanluo God Emperor cared for no one, not even himself. “Yes!” Without further ado, Kaber and the others carried the body away. Yakes then proceeded directly to his quarters.

Meanwhile, the formidable army of the Heavenly Revelation Divine Country commenced their advance, marching with imposing might towards the Nether Moon Star Defense Line.

Within the command center of the Nether Moon Star Defense Line, Long Chen, Long Ying, Commander Soraya, Commander Fulaya, and other key figures were gathered, their faces etched with grave concern.
“According to the most recent intelligence from our inside contact, the main force of the Heavenly Revelation Divine Country has closed in and could launch their assault at any moment,” Commander Fulaya stated, his expression exceedingly serious.
“Are the Chilami troops involved?” Commander Soraya inquired, a weighty question.
“We cannot detect their presence at this instant, but it’s highly probable they are nearby,” Commander Fulaya replied, a troubled frown on his face.
“From this moment forward, maintain the highest level of vigilance and ensure our defenses are absolutely impenetrable,” Long Chen declared, his voice deep and resonant.
“Rest assured, all arrangements have been meticulously made,” Long Ying affirmed with a nod.

At this precise moment, within Curvature Interference Device No. 06, two soldiers clad in Second Generation Exoskeleton Armor stood guard over the passage leading to Equipment Room No. 9.
“Mingo, those wretched fools from the Heavenly Revelation Divine Country must have had their brains scrambled to be foolish enough to trust the Alien Race against us. Lord Long Xian should have annihilated them ages ago!” grumbled a rugged man with a stubbled face and dark complexion to the bald man beside him.
“Ah, there’s no point lamenting the past now. I need to use the restroom; keep an eye on this area,” Mingo said to his comrade.
“You really have a weak bladder. Just hold on a bit longer; our shift change is imminent,” the other soldier quipped.
“I truly cannot hold it,” Mingo insisted.
“Then hurry up. Remember, no one is permitted to act alone during these critical times. We’ll both be in deep trouble if we’re caught by a patrol,” the soldier warned Mingo with a sigh of resignation.
“Alright, I’ll be back in a flash!” Mingo declared and then departed.
Upon reaching a junction, Mingo did not turn left towards the restrooms as expected. Instead, he veered into a corridor on the right, heading towards an inconspicuous utility room. Behind this utility room lay the heavily guarded equipment room. Mingo reached out and grasped the mechanical door handle. As he opened the door, three men adorned in the distinctive uniforms of the Night Owls, their expressions cold and severe, stood waiting inside, beam guns pointed directly at him.
“Sergeant Mingo, what are you doing here?” the leader of the Night Owl team demanded icily.
“Nothing, I just…” Mingo’s body stiffened almost imperceptibly as he discreetly reached for the sidearm holstered at his waist. In that instant, the three Night Owls unleashed their weapons! Whoosh! Mingo’s head was instantly perforated, and he crumpled to the ground. At that very moment, a member of the Night Raid team picked up a list and decisively crossed out Mingo’s name with a pen.

Nether Moon Star Headquarters.
Within a dimly illuminated chamber off the main hall…
Fidian’s face was etched with grimness as he faced a subordinate clad in the distinctive Night Owl uniform, whose eyes held a chilling coldness.
He abruptly raised his hand, a signal given.
With Fidian's gesture, several Night Owl operatives produced lists and proceeded to hand them out to their awaiting comrades.
“A new directive has been issued! You understand your mission, no further explanation is necessary!”
Fidian's voice was sharp and devoid of warmth.
Those Night Owl members present accepted their lists and began to depart, one after another.

Sea God Fortress, Hangar Number Three.
A middle-aged woman, her uniform bearing the rank of Colonel and showing subtle signs of wear from time, stood before a formation of her subordinates.
“Let me reiterate this one final time: while engaged in combat, you are to adhere strictly to all commands and orders. Independent actions are strictly forbidden!”
